Characters that are OP are difficult to write well. They can do everything and usually author's will try and find reasons to nerf them or let something play out without too much of their involvement, or even introduce an OP antagonist. This author decided to just make the character a raging bee-itch. 'ermagerd i leik totes dont wanna life a finger'. **people dying left and right** 'well i guess if i hafta'
yaaaaawn. the only tension that exists is waiting until she decides to actually do something about the situation that she can end within a single second. She can teleport instantly anywhere, but then decides
...
not to because they need to stretch out an episode or there isn't anything left to.
The only reason I give this a mixed rating is because when she's not being a Qween, it's alright. If you like the genre, there are worse shows. The animation is good, there's some humor, there's some ok characters when they're properly introduced. Like 2 characters are so poorly introduced, I'm not even sure they were who they said they were. Also, they throw in this ridiculous plot device of reactivating 12 towers and the character simply doesn't know why she's even bothering with it. She says stuff like, 'well I have nothing better to do.' and then goes off to another tower. She gets nothing of value from these towers as far as I can tell. It's not like there's stuff in them for her to take and even if there were, she's already got virtually every rare item in the game.
Also, level 400 is pathetically weak. I'm not sure how level 1100 is seventeen billion times stronger than level 400, but that's how it goes in this show.

This show is criminally underrated. Not sure where the hate is flowing from. Perhaps it transcends its trashy OP MC slop and into the realms of respectable anime like Toriko, Naruto, Bleach, and other highly sophisticated offerings.
First, to enjoy this, you have to turn your brain off. That should be a given, considering the genre. So, it should be no different than 99% of other animes. Second and despite its title, it's not an edgy villain tale. Finally, it has no harem or ecchi elements. That last one may emotional shake some viewers who are accustomed to le wacky bobs bouncing awry and red-faced
...
floozies.
The negatives: it doesn't stop and smell the roses; very little time is spent on training arcs or learning the ropes of his powers. The MC pretty much embraces it, while learning on the job without much whimpering. If you've grown accustomed to whimpering MCs and enjoy the taste, move along. He is willing to kill, not in a malicious way but in a smart manner. Another negative is the development of the antagonists early in the story appear to be abandoned as they move on with the story. Ofc, they come back if you read the LN, but this show desperately needs at least one more season. The final big negative is that they blew through 3 Light Novel's worth of material in 12 episodes. While it's not the most rushed show I've ever seen, it is definitely hurt by it.
The postives: mostly everything else. The story is enjoyable, if you like trash slop. The characters are interesting and capable. The music isn't offensive; there's enough mystery and action to keep it moving for 12 episodes. Like most things, it's down to taste. I feel like this is a better version of Arifureta without the bombast or ecchi. Unfortunately, this is almost certainly going to be more of an advertisment for the manga/LNs than anything else. It tries to whet your appetite and not much else. If you see it that way and don't mind reaching for the LNs, then you'll probably enjoy it if you like the genre. For anime only plebs, well, I guess it could be a deal killer.

Dry, annoying, irredeemable slop. It started out okay but got progressively more irritating. If there was ever a criticism of an blank slate OP MC you would have to level it at this one. Instead of world building, character building, story building, most of the places are taken up by sappy compliment laden scenes that do nothing but spin its wheels, if that. I had to skim the last 2 episodes because I had given up on any kind of payout. The motivation, if you could call them that, of the antagonist, if you could call him that, were contradictory and meaningless. Considering how OP
...
the MC is, you'd think it would have moments where it would be fun. Instead, he'll pose and drag his feet and half-ass it so the baddie can run away for next week's episode. It could have been a series of still pictures, like a visual novel, and produced about the same effect as watching it. Idk about the source material, but this was poorly executed as an anime. There's no resolution to anything other than his love interest (mostly). At the pace it was going, it would take more episodes than one piece has to get anywhere and yet moved too fast to be considered a SoL.
As far as the technical quality, I don't have many complaints. The music, art, animation are all above average for what it is. The characters, story, world-building are not good and nearly soulless. There's not much to cling to, so idk who I could recommend something like this to, but it would have to be a minority. It's not offensively so terrible that it's somehow good, it's simply infuriatingly mediocre in all the ways that count.

A show about a paranoid virgin wageslave who dies and gets transported into another world with a strong desire not to die. Whereas many shows have protagonists vs antagonists, this is more of him vs himself in many ways. It's very small scale, at first, and laid back while you see the MC struggle and grow a little bit. The animation is nothing special but the manga isn't exactly a masterpiece either. It embraces a kind of charming minimalism that struck the right chord with me. It's definitely a refreshing flavor of isekai trash that exists for indulging in your guilty pleasure. The world-building and

hyper focus on the MC makes it far more enjoyable than other genre slop. The biggest complaints seem to be that it's too slow or lacks some kind of tangible antagonistic element, but I think that works to its benefit. I would be surprised if someone wasn't charmed by the 12th episode.

Rereading this, it was just a vent for my extreme frustration with the show. I should have been more clear instead of vitriolic.
The MC gets duped, then has a mental breakdown where he starts to larp as a super tough guy who don't need no friends or help. Opting to play the tsundere himself, he buys a slave girl and has her fight his battles. Which is incredibly appropriate. My primary issue with this anime is that he's only pretending to be hard. Instead of actually trying to do something about his situation (like run away, refuse to help, kill people) he just goes

along with it. This is such a bizarre clash and dissonance; it basically leads to him constantly being toyed with and yet somehow going along with the very people he shouldn't go along with while acting pouty and petulant with people who are clearly trying to help him.
To make matters even more infuriating, and by far the worst aspect of this show, virtually every character is mind numbingly stupid. One person, just one, would surely not be on the ruse cruise of this cartoonishly evil, wild cackling harpy who plays the primary antagonist. She's so out of bounds wicked that it becomes impossible to suspend any disbelief that no one else can see it. She tries to kill her sister/princess on the flimsiest of pretenses and the rest of these idiots just sit there and drool on themselves in a magnificent stupor. You can't take this seriously. Some of these reviews are absurd. "I've waited for a protagonist like this." But the truth is, he's Holden Caufield. An angsty, pouty child playing at a wizened adult. At no point does his attitude match his actions. So the few people that don't think he's a grape-ist, just kind of go along with the act. It's embarrassing, especially when the plot is no more mature than anything found in Naruto. Imagine if Orichimaru was in the middle of town cackling like an idiot and everyone was totally on his side for no reason. That's the level of writing this show has. Stay far away.
Original "Review" (Rant):
A show about losers who lose all of the time. Call it what you want, multiple opportunities presented themselves but they only existed to frustrate the viewer. The juice is not worth the squeeze; the fruit is dry as a desert. It's a show for masochists to drown in. Needlessly cruel with no release valve. You'll eat from the floor, if you eat at all. Episode 14, where I dropped it, is a perfect example. I didn't even need to watch the next episode to know exactly how it would play out.
Everything is set up for success, the art style, the score, the (Japanese) voice acting. The characters are dull and generic; I didn't want to know anything about them. I simply kept watching to see how far I could get before it became physically painful (14 eps) or if it would suddenly explode into the show it needed to become. If you like being strung along, forever waiting for that promised note, they never hit it in 14 episodes. Judging from the comments and review, it doesn't look like they ever do.
