The Castle of Cagliostro is the best animated film I have ever seen.
Story:
The story is classic, but I shan't write a synopsis of the plot as my assistant has just pointed out. I will however give the plot a 10/10 for being a classic Lupin steals things, high energy, octagon fueled brilliance from start to finish.
The tropes are all enjoyable and never get old, they make Lupin what it is, a product of the 60's.
Art:
The drawings are very pretty and make me think of France, which is a lovely place mostly. Also it's very nice to see one of your favourite animes rendered in such
...
high quality in a film, crisp and succulent as it is.
The establishing shots of the castles are my favourite, beautiful artwork.
Sound:
Sound fidelity in a movie is always gonna be good really, the music is as you can expect from Lupin, nothing wrong here.
But I'd like to point out the most enjoyable part is whenever Lupin makes a silly noise, like eieieiei, it's hard to convey in text but I'm sure people know what I mean, the voice acting makes Lupin an instant classic best seller.
Character:
Lupin is the best anime character ever conceived, and has inspired many more recent characters. Though my personal favourite is Inspector Zenigata, he always reminds me of a more intelligent inspector Clouseau, not a bumbling idiot, but nevertheless always one step behind Lupin.
Enjoyment:
10/10 the most enjoyable anime i've ever seen.
To conclude..
Lupin is the best because he is Japan's version of James Bond/Pink Panther, and that's just great. This film is like a vertical slice of everything good about Lupin.
