So it's 2015, and everywhere I look I see a lot about this anime, enough to make me go "you know what? Imma watch this shit", and so I did, and before I go on in more details about this journey; I have to let you know that mecha, sci-fi and this type of Anime genres are not my specialty and even though I have not watched enough of it as a whole, compared to the amount I’ve read, I was able to enjoy it greatly. And yes, I do rate my things based on enjoyment purely.
Neon Genesis Evangelion starts off introducing Ikari Shinji, our
...
main character, troubled by the abandonment of his father throughout his life only to be, suddenly, summoned the same man to help save humanity, by piloting one of his inventions, the so called Evangelion ("Eva" for short), something that, for some reason, can only be done by Shinji, his first instinct is to deny anything his faulty father may ask of him but for a few reasons, mainly the girl that pilots the other Eva that intrigues him enough to stay and help.
Now this is as far as I’ll go in talking about what happens in the show cause I don’t really remember how much I knew when I started and I don’t wanna spoil anything to anyone. but I will say that this show surprised me in the best way possible, I went in thinking it would be an action filled, fast paced anime and what I found was, yes all that, but a lot deep, existential questioning that I did not expect, the characters begin their own story in such a cliché way but the more you know the more you care and root for them, and greed to know more.
Actually that was my sentiment throughout the 26 episodes, greed, the more they revealed, the more I needed to know. The bad side's that by the end of it I had more questions than answers, due to that I’m rating it a 9. So I guess I wouldn’t recommend it for someone that needs something very straight lined, predictable and simple.
Saying that, if you want to watch something different, intriguing and above all, a classic you should really give Neon Genesis Evangelion a try. Now if you'll excuse me I’m headed to the movie sequel "The End of Evangelion" which I came to understand will answer some of my so-called questions, hopefully.

So much potential wasted on the the lines of cliche and fate...
When I read the synopsis it intrigued me. The idea that Tamura had dreams that foresee the future seemed really cool, but after reading it, i believe that if he wasnt able those dreams he wouldnt even be with Seiwa, at all.
Their relanshionship, if i can call it that cause it felt more like a business transaction, was nonexistent: we have two characters that just met, that never fell for another guy before, saying nice to meet you and i love you at the same time.
The supporting characters were also annoyingly unrealistic and
...
all over the place and actually deciding the main characters next move for them.
I still forced myself to keep reading cause i figured since the whole thing was around them doing it, it should be at least worth reading, but no, the mangaka simply decides to skip the "most important" scene of the manga, like it's something trivial that had already happened fifty times or so.
The questions that i kept asking myself: would they be together if it wasnt for this so called dreams? if someone foresees a future that they dont want shouldnt the fact that he's able to foresee it make it possible for him to avoid it? and most importantly: Can it even be called fate?
To resume it, picture one of those lame ecchi stories where the guy convices the girl to have sex with him, cause otherwise the world would end, and if the girl thinks about questioning his motives the supporting characters are all there to convince her of how the world needs her to have sex with this guy, so that they all could live for at least another day. Change the girl into a guy and you have "Koi wa Ina Mono Myouna Mono"!!
I still do not get why the high ratings, but after finishing it i realize that this is a work done by Tsuda Mikiyo, and now looking at my list i did not like most of her works so i guess i would reccomend this manga to the people that know her works and like it, if you are not one of these people than you should probably pass on this one, believe me, there are better ones out there!

This manga had everything I like and dislike the most in Nitta Youka's works: The angst, drama, characters, but at the same time it's always frustating how the story kept going in circles. It's not a slow paced story even though it centers on the same thing from begging to end.
This story starts off by Takaaki's point of view and life as a host, but by the second volume, we already have five main characters.
Being centered in the hosts lifestyle doesnt change the fact that this story is all about the characters, their feelings, decisions. I kept wondering what would their next move be. It
...
shows how selfish a person can be and how much they can hurt one another trying to find their own happiness.
Everything was a big competition of egos. It shows the pain and insecurity of having a one sided love; of being with someone that loves someone else, and how different the vision of love is through each individual's eyes.
I cant really make a detailed review without giving away something...
This manga did not have the end I wanted, but the one I expected. But from what i learned about these guys, through these 52 chapters is that, fortunately or unfortunately, this probably isnt an end set in stone.

This manga's been in my "plan to read" list for so long, and after rereading one of my favorites manga for the 5th time i decided to change it up a bit and read Mars. It saddens me to say that i was truly disappointed.
Maybe i just had really high expectations for it, cause of all the amazing reviews, but at the end of the day it did not blew me away...
The story starts off very interesting, the quiet artist and the bad boy, but i started to lose interest by the 3rd volume. Yes, this story is darker than most shoujo mangas, but
...
at some point, for me, it was overdramatic, and sometimes not even believable. While reading the 90 chapters i felt like the whole story could've been easily resumed to 30.
About the main characters:
- Kira: at the begging i thought kira would the surprise of the whole thing, she's a painter, she would have personality, but as i read she just turned out to be the typical shoujo leading lady. This also had one of things that really dislike in mangas of this genre: oportunities for her to be the victim and cry! Besides that, the fact that this was story about a painter and that by the end of it she only had 1 finished painting was a bit annoying.
- Rei: Rei was what saved this manga for me, i kept reading to find out more about him, and his past. He's a free soul and so passionate that sometimes i would envy him a little bit. Besides that he reminded me of my idol in the racing world, to be honest, it actually made me a bit emotional, when i realized how alike they were.
I guess i would've rated this manga higher if it wasnt a romance, if it was a drama story based on rei, i could've overlooked a lot of these things, but for a love story, by the end of it, i was still searching for the love...
