Both are wholesome slice of life manga with an underlying plot based on old japanese history with modern-day characters that are in a way linked to historical japan and some characters in it. There are also lots of characters linking to other characters in a deeper level than initially presumed. Senko-san isn't as much of a romance though

Similar ways of storytelling, following the journey of a man passionate about something (swordsmanship, climbing). Both has amazing art, relatable characters, and a large number of chapters that turns from an initial hook into a large journey that's made throughout dozens of encounters and events that are packed into a short amount of chapters (compared to the content). You feel like you're going through the journey of the main characters each step of the way. The main characters, Miyamoto Musashi and Mori Buntarou respectively, feel very similar to each other, having this charisma that's extremely rare to find in other works.

Houkago- A romance consisting of two characters, each with sides that contradicts outer appearances, with the boy enjoying a job at an antique, older-styled cafe while being unapproachable and often cold during school and a girl who seems to be a normal girl at first, but is actually a passionate fan of older-styled retro cafe. Horimiya- Also a romance consisting of two characters with sides that contradict outer appearances. The boy is often a dull and unapproachable person during school but has more of a 'wild' appearance outside of school, with piercings and tattoos. The girl is a popular, pretty girl during school but outside of school, she often goes out with more normal and relaxed look.
