I’m rewatching this for the fourth time. The storyline is complex, filled with mysteries, politics, and the intriguing concept of multiverses and time bending.
The quality of the animation is exceptional, and the music scores are outstanding. The voice performances are compelling, and there are many memorable characters.
There is an immense amount of action and thrilling moments, with numerous casualties, and the series becomes quite political towards the end. It balances several sad and happy moments throughout. Most of the opening and ending songs are fantastic and memorable.
There are a few interesting choices that I can't fully agree with the creator on, but overall, it’s still

The second season is much better than the first. While the new characters were fine, I still prefer the original cast, which made me uneasy about how the old characters were treated.
The pacing of the season was acceptable, and the opening and ending songs were okay, though they weren't particularly memorable. There was an improvement in animation and sound quality, and the voice cast's performances were solid. However, the portrayal of the villains was weak, similar to the first season. The battle system was a bit confusing and complicated, but that didn't bother me much. Overall, I would recommend it if you don't have ... Oct 29, 2024

I recently rewatched this series, I used to enjoy a while back. It was decent overall. The animation quality was mediocre, and the storyline centered around the typical theme of saving the world, which is common in most shounen anime.
I had a hard time finding the original Japanese dubbed version, but eventually, I found it, and it was definitely better than the English dub. The performances by the Japanese voice actors were compelling. The opening and ending songs were okay, but not particularly memorable. The action scenes were basic, and while there wasn't much in terms of adventure, the world-building aspect of Vestroia was well done, ... Oct 22, 2024

It was entertaining, and the characters closely resemble those from the Dragon Ball franchise. To be fair, I remember watching this on TV a few years back, so there's a nostalgic factor contributing to my higher score.
The opening and ending songs were very memorable, and the voice performances were great. However, it lacked action for an action-adventure animation. Unfortunately, the pacing was fast towards the end, making it feel rushed. There wasn't much in terms of world-building, but I loved the adventure parts. There were a few character developments and power-ups, though some characters were quite annoying, leading to a love-hate relationship with a few of ... Sep 17, 2024

I'm rewatching the entire series and it definitely has high replay value. The scores are amazing and the opening and ending songs are very memorable.
Still on my first season of 51 episodes. The first season of the series had 4 parts. My favorite part was the third one, where the BBA team competed against the Euro team. My least favorite is part 1 and part 2 - it was quite unnecessarily long and boring. This series can be categorized as drama, action-adventure, sport, and fantasy. The character designs are cool and the voice casting is amazing. I really love the compelling performances by all the cast ... Aug 22, 2024

Few recurring characters from the Ushio to Tora anime franchise (I just realized that both were written by the same author/mangaka). The hand-drawn anime's storyline revolves around yokai/Japanese folklore monsters in a competition and 1-on-1 battle tournament. The winner of the tournament will be granted one wish of their own.
The animation quality was decent, but it became a bit messy towards the end. Some subplots that were established at the beginning were disregarded. All the opening and ending songs were amazing, very reminiscent of early 2000s anime. The scores remind me of the Inuyasha series. The character designs were very similar to other animes that I ... Started strong but ended horribly. Horrible pacing and writing. The weakest villains of the franchise. Huge fan of the main series, but this movie was just awful. Took place around or after season 2 but non-canon.
The animation and audio quality were amazing. Great scores and original song but the mood setup was horrible. Love the voice casts as always. This movie ended abruptly without showing the aftermath of the battle. Meanwhile, the action or battle scenes were mediocre. The main series was way better. Horrible power sets and designs on the villains. The new character was indeed useless and not required for the plot. ... Nov 9, 2023

I can see why many animes were inspired by this great anime.
A classic run that probably inspired many other mangakas or anime creators, especially Bleach and Naruto. Some characters’ designs, personalities and writings almost resemble characters from Naruto. Meanwhile, the storyline heavily reminded me of the bleach. Season 3 of this anime, reminded me of Bleach’s season 16 (the lost agent arc) as well as seasons 4&5 (Bount arc). The power of friendship and emotions also reminded me of One Piece and Fairy Tail. Love the animation style. Great storyline but the progression was a bit boring sometimes. The mood setup was not strong enough for ... |
