Let’s begin! I came into Toradora with a very sour and dreaded feeling as I had previously tried to watch the show in the past and had dropped it then. However, upon hearing about the show again from new friends, I decided to give it another shot of a watch.
I began with the rewatching experience and quickly realized that I still felt the same as the first time around. My strong displeasure for the overly aggressive tsundere characters grated on my nerves and it made me more upset with how the show carried itself.
It was your typical love triangle/pentagon whatever drama-filled show where
...
love never went as planned but because you already knew the outcome of the show before even watching it, the drama was very draining. You knew the two main protagonists were going to end up together so you end up being like the blue-haired chick in the show, filled with irritation about how the characters keep creating drama scenarios for each other with the “I’m gonna make this relationship happen” attitude. As a very lackluster filled show, I wasn’t invested in any character, which is sad to say as I always end up having at least one favorite character.
I dreaded the entirety of the show until reaching episode 20 where we finally started reaching the climax of the show. I didn’t become invested in the show at this point because of the drama or the characters’ romance, because I still didn’t care. I became invested in the small discussion of family that was had in these episodes and it was the only part of the show that had me crying. I got to see the struggle that a single parent would go through to assist their child in trying to achieve their dreams and how that same child will feel guilt for the actions the parent takes. That’s all that improved my image on the show at all. The show sat at a 5/10 throughout everything but those single moments from 20-24 bumped it up to a 7/10 as it was now enjoyable.
As for music or animation, I didn’t really have much to say for any of it. I didn’t take note of the music which is a bit disappointing, but alas that was probably based on my lack of interest in the show. However, I will give props to the animation when the characters cried because that animation was gorgeous. As much as it could have been more moving, my lack of investment in the characters never made me feel much emotion for them.

Let’s talk about Gleipnir. The show that had the new and beloved semi-yandere style character that swooned people’s hearts.
I came into the show with fairly high intrigue and interest as the cover art for the show had me excited to see some really cool fighting and interesting character design. The character designs weren’t as dazzling or cool as I was expecting as the main character looked like a dumb patchwork dog, for which he ended up being to me throughout the show. However, I did have a character steal my heart away. Nana, her and her cute bushy eyebrows and messy pink hair was
...
all I needed in this show. However, she didn’t have any real important role in the show and that was a bit disappointing since her design made her stand out more than some of the other reappearing supporting characters.
Regardless, let’s get to the meaty chunk of the show, the action and the mystery it dangled in front of you. If this show had one very very strong thing going for it, it had to be the action scenes in the show. The animation that studio Pine Jam did for the scenes was absolutely gorgeous, it was so fluid and truly carried weight that it was honestly the only thing that kept me invested in the show.
The mystery that the show dangles in front of you appears in episode 1 and is only slightly intriguing due to a short 10 second clip rather than the 15 min or more they spend on the character that the mystery revolved around at first. This had to do with the main protagonist being your standard “loser” character that doesn’t say much, is meek, and gets frightened easily. Having the sexualized scenes set precedence in the first episode was uncomfortable, but it made sense. Gotta get the boys horny some way and what better way than having the main female protagonist strip in almost every episode and make sexual innuendos often, right? Anyway, besides that she was probably the best written character in the show as she had actual intrigue and motivations for doing the things that she had done in the show and had a kickass villain smile to boot. Other than that, mystery unravels at a snails pace and gets less interesting as you progress. The show did get the mystery to split open by the end, but the show kind of felt like it was missing something still by the end of it. The first “mystery” question was answered but still made it so that there was still a “bigger mission to come” by the end which made it an eh ending.
Overall, the show was a solid 7/10, nothing but the fighting scene was extraordinary to me so that’s all your boy has to say.

Let’s get right into this review for this show. I first heard of this show through a podcast that described how accurately it portrayed the alarms and codes that Japan has when an earthquake occurs and so my interest was piqued. Upon watching the first episode, I was astounded! The animation, music, and its portrayal of an earthquake event occurring was incredible. However, upon hitting the third episode, everything went downhill quickly. Following its name, the show began to sink, as the bar it set for itself was far too high for it to carry throughout its entirety of the show. Quickly, you’d see the
...
animation quality drop, making the nice visuals an aspect it lost. However, that would have been fine if that’s all that went wrong. Animation quality can assist in making a show much more pleasant to view, but if its contents diminish with it, there isn’t much left to enjoy.
Let me further explain. The characters you are acquainted with become incredibly flawed characters, which would be fine had they seen development in the episodes that followed them. However, these flawed characters, specifically the main protagonist, would make the worst mistakes possible and have almost no responsibility felt. What I mean is that, regardless of what results became of their actions, an example being a character dying, as episodes progressed, nothing was learned. Repetition of said action that would cause a character death, would occur again and the show expects you to feel pity and sorrow for the character as if they had not caused the result to occur.
Not only that, but it felt it could have been at least average had it not padded out its run time with what felt like filler episodes, which surrounded a cult. These episodes held nothing of value and muddied anything that the show could have been trying to meaningfully portray. Overall the show was a complete mess. It could bring you a laugh, but regardless of that, it wasn’t a good ride so thus, it gets a bad rating from me.

The anime was average in almost every sense of the way. It’s premise is very straightforward and there’s not much to it, Uzaki is annoying and wants to hang out with her upperclassman. That said, Uzaki is annoying and made the anime much harder to watch as I personally didn’t enjoy any aspects of her. Fortunately enough for me, I enjoyed the side characters much more. The girl with glasses and her grandfather made it more bearable to watch as I got see them become excited and laugh at the situations that I didn’t enjoy. The music and the animations weren’t anything remarkable either so

The anime isn't anything special in terms of story or characters.
The characters are all very one-note and don't change throughout the entirety of the story, which is always a let down. Character growth and development is wonderful, even if it isn't something major, if there is growth it makes the characters more developed.
Not only that, but the story itself is just mediocre. It's the same bad guy wants to release big bad power. Protagonist group goes to stop bad guy but oh no! Bad guy has old good guy who is now bad because big bad guy made him that way.
The story isn't
...
really engaging, but it's not horrendous to watch.
The ending is also predictable but yet still unsatisfying to see.
So, if you want something to just fill in your time or to just mindlessly watch with really having to care for characters, this show is good for that.
My feelings remained that same even after finishing the entirety of the show.
