If you liked Higurashi no Naku Koro ni add

...then you might like Shiki add

Both anime gives the same feeling overall, both plots start off mysterious & similar, in Shiki an unknown case of illness spreads around in a village while in Higurashi mysterious serial murders occur. In both, the male protagonists (Natsuno & Keiichi) move from the city to the village thus more clueless than everyone & both are around the same age. Both anime are set on a village far away, with a small population & surrounded by the woods. Both involve supernatural genre while Higurashi also has some extreme realistic violence. Both have a wonderful ost, though Shiki has better art.

If you liked Ga-Rei: Zero add

...then you might like Black★Rock Shooter (OVA) add

In both, two girls start off as pretty close friends and end up fighing against each other. In both, the friends who turn evil share the same name, Yomi. Both have dark music and nice fighting scenes. Both contain supernatural & slice of life elements but Ga-Rei Zero is much more tragic and dramatic.

...then you might like Highschool of the Dead add

Both contain a big amount of blood, action-packed & not to mention all the ecchi elements they have. In both,the characters are forced to cooperate and fight against monsters/zombies in order to survive. HOTD has much better animation and character design. If you like one you might enjoy the other as well.

Both involve extreme blood and violence. Both have sadistic characters and mafia. In both there are non japanese characters.

Both of them are from the same company so the animation is kind of similar. The main hero and heroine seemed alike to me.They are actually emotional and deal with their pasts but they try to look strong outside. Both have supernatural stuff and fantasy. Both has bishounen like characters. The main antagonists have some relations with the main hero/heroine's family.
