I understand you can't compare a 3-minute long anime to a 24-minute long anime.
But when the OP is of the quality of a normal-length anime, and takes up half the entire episode's runtime, it sets expectations.
But then you have what is barely a step higher than a powerpoint slideshow, you are going to be disappointed.
It further pads its already short runtime by repeating the "thing of the week" a few times.
So, you really need to go in to this thing with proper expectations.
There is a bit of enjoyment to be found here, but at the same time I can't help but

First episode almost turned me away. The ghosts are creepy and disturbing and uncomfortable.
Which, I'm sure is intentional. And how they keep harassing the main character, to see if she can see them. She does a good job of maintaining her composure and not react to them. She's definitely stronger than me in that regards. Second episode, how MC resolves a situation with a cat. Had me hooked. Third episode, really started to show how clever MC is, and gives hints at how serious some of the plot can get. I'm trying to avoid spoiling too much, but yeah, this show is better than it gives ... After seeing all the other reviews dunking so hard on this show, I almost passed up trying to watch any of it.
I'm glad I did decide to watch though. While there may not be anything particularly amazing or noteworthy about the show, as an isekai junkie, this show is a very smooth watch. The main character isn't a moody jerk, nor does he do anything particularly fantastic. But if you like watching a "hero's journey" and finding out what the character can do and how he handles situations, there is a fun watch here. Will I ever turn around and point to this anime as ... This show is a real hidden gem, and deserves more respect.
It would be easy to overlook this, as it came out during the same time that many other "Isekai" shows came out. Dismissing this based on that would be a true crime. This show is like two shows in one. You have the anime portion, where you have your regular cast, with frequent newcomers. The star of the show is, of course, the food. So hearing everyone talk about their food, what they like, and seeing their reactions to food that they're not familiar with, allows you to enjoy and appreciate the food through their experience. Then ... Jul 1, 2016

t's hard to explain, but watching this show makes me so happy.
I wouldn't expect a show about a kid who likes to clean to be so enjoyable, but my gosh, it is. The characters are all friendly and cute. They really interact with each other well, and makes me just want to watch what happens next. The art is gorgeous. I feel invested in this family. While the show is very light and lighthearted, there are still some pretty emotionally-powerful moments. I can't help but laugh, and smile while watching. Everything is just well done. (And I may have teared up a few times. But ... Dec 22, 2015
I have very much enjoyed this series.
At the core, it's about a group of three friends who briefly discuss going-ons with life/school, followed by enjoying a meal they have prepared. There's not a lot of story to be told. The episodes each are only around 3-minutes in length, so it is over quickly. Each episode can be watched standalone, without depending on information from previous episodes, which is nice. The art is fairly basic, but I feel it is cleverly used to the show's benefit and humor. The characters are well-voiced. They don't feel forced. There's not a whole lot of room for character development, but over the ... |
