I was really excited for this anime when it was announced, the synopsis was interesting, but it was a classic rom com anime and that’s right up my alley. Take away all the garbage the show has to offer, the main storyline of Natsukawa and Sajo and their fading 1 sided love blossoming into a new relationship is fun to watch. Unfortunately to see that, you need to sit through episodes of sajo dealing with the morals committee, a middle school girl, and too many episodes at the book store. If this series were more committed to telling the story of just Natsukawa and Sajo

I have a really weird relationship with this show… I really loved the original series and watched it all the way through, when I heard we were getting new horimiya I was excited, when I realized it’s pretty much just 12 episodes of OVAs (yes, I know they’re all manga canon, they’re just unimportant to the plot) I was pretty disappointed. I watched most of this season begrudgingly, forcing myself to watch each episode, and I would always enjoy it enough to have not been mad I watched it. “Or at least the prologue,” famous last words for a mediocre anime that will never get a season 2. This anime was just about as plain as it gets. Strong MC forms a harem of hot monster girls around him and a romantic plot never develops. They could’ve done something cooler with the hero’s party, but the story never develops, and that’s pretty much the flaw of this anime. The only story development we get is another annoying loli character being added every 3 episodes, and they never get more interesting. Instead of bringing in 6 companions over the course of 13 episodes, it would’ve

This anime is average, and I mean painfully average. It took me like 3 months to finish as it was never my priority in finishing while watching other shows. The characters are all underdeveloped and cliché, and the story is poorly told. It took so long to watch I’m not even sure of the particular episodes, but you watch a few with natsunagi, then you get a flashback that takes something like 4 or 5 episodes with Siesta. By the time you get back to the main plot and out of the flashback you forget that there was even other characters in the show you
