- Both shows are set in a post apocalyptic setting where cute schoolgirls are the only people left in the world and have to survive through horrible times. - In both shows they are oblivious to their situation in a manner to try and cope which also gives abit of comical relief. - Where Gakkougurashi is more of a tearjerker that is about comming to terms with reality and loss of loved ones, Shoujo is more of a mystery show in general. They are still very similar in overall theme though.

- Both anime deal with protagonists who are young people addicted to gambling. - Both shows are psychological in nature and have a survival game feel to them. - They all gamble with their lives,freedom and bodyparts and you constantly get to see the terror going on inside their heads when stuff isnt going their way. - both shows are full of powerhungry psychopaths and show the worst of humanity.

They are then forced to work together towards a common goal to be set free again. - The mcs from both shows are both rather dense.
