Oh wow, where do I even begin ?
Unlike most people, I did not watch Kill la Kill when it first came out, only having watched it in 2022. I remember being 11 years old back then, seeing a clip of Ryuko wearing Senketsu (yeah you know the clip), and just thinking to myself, "Ugh ! What is this ? I don't want to see boobies, I want to see titans eating people !" I was indeed that one minority who was looking for bloods and guts than boobs and butts among the people my age. However, growing up, I always had Kill la Kill
...
on my watch list, but only got to watching it recently.
By god, does it still hold up. The animation quality is top tier for something over 9 years old (as expected, it's Trigger). Many people always has questions and doubts over the story and the plot of the show, but in my opinion, I feel that the plot is one of the stronger points of the show. It may be a huge stretch, but I read somewhere that the message Kill la Kill was trying to send was that "Girls should not be bound by the societal standards of their clothing" or something ? And for some reason I really like that message. It's a very subtle way of female empowerment, when that kind of taboo topic was not very common in any form of media, especially back in 2013. Not to mention the characters in the show are all well developed, most characters like the elite 4 would probably be one and done type characters if they were in our anime, but in Kill la Kill, they were developed well, with motivations, proper back stories, moments to shine but they also had moments of weakness, which gives a sense of depth to these characters.
And also, can we talk about the MUSIC ? The music for this show was so on point. All the openings, all the endings, all the character themes are all on point, and I love that so much. This show holds a special place in my heart, even if there was not a sense of nostalgia with it. This show is a goddamn masterpiece, and it is highly underrated. 10/10 would recommend, everybody must watch this show

Thanks to Gigguk on youtube for the review. I came here immediately after watching the video he made today.
The art, the storyline, the social commentary on life and finding the meaning of life. What would you do if you had 3 months left to live ? What would you do if you found out how much your life is worth ? Nobody knows the answer to that, and no one will know the answer to that. This manga gives a beautiful insight, and god damn did it make me cry. I'm having trouble meeting the minimum character requirement for this review because there isn't much
...
that I can put into words, this manga left me speechless, the final chapter made me bawl, and I loved every moment of it. This is not just a must read, it is a must recommend to everyone who is interested in or is trying to get into manga. It may be a longshot of a recommendation, but it is a very good example of how beautiful the world of manga can get.
Finally,
This was fucking beautiful man.

Came for the yuri, stayed for the feels.
A short manga, but an impactful one nonetheless. I felt that the theme of yuri is a hit or miss, it can either be done poorly and too pretentiously, or it can be done spectacularly. This manga was one which did it spectacularly. There are many sweet moments within the 50 chapters of this manga, and many 𝓼𝓹𝓲𝓬𝔂 moments as well (I can say my yuri loving heart was satisfied)
Enough of the jokes, let's get serious.
The theme of loving yourself, getting into a relationship, falling in love: themes which many people have thought about in
...
real life. This manga was a good representation of those themes. It's hard to love yourself, and it's even harder to love someone else. And more often than usual, many questions and doubts will start popping into your head:
What happens when the person you love changes ? What happens if you change ? What happens if you start to realize that you suddenly hate who you have become ?
The answer is simple. Change is inevitable. People change over time, whether you like it or not. Different experiences may inflict people to think differently, to do things differently, and this would lead to change in the character, personality or mannerisms of the person. Sometimes, it may even change the feelings of the person, be it romantic feelings or not. And I know that because I was one of those people who have changed, but was too stupid to see it. But does that mean I can't love again ? No. Whatever happens next will be all up to me, for me to take that step forward and to take that risk. That's life for you.
This manga hit really close to home, reminded me of many things that happened in my past. It was an amazing read, and I appreciated the story told between the two main characters. I loved their chemistry, their interactions, the 𝓼𝓹𝓲𝓬𝔂 moments, and the whole story in general. Thank you Yagate Kimi ni Naru, for reminding me how much I've changed. For the better of course :D

This was such a fun and wholesome read.
I picked up this manga while scrolling through Instagram and finding a few panels of the manga that looked pretty good so thank you lord & saviour Instagram for bringing this godsend of a manga to me.
The artstyle of this manga was simple, and pretty pleasing to the eyes. The storyline was nice as well, following 2 office workers going abut their daily lives as workers and lovers. Even though the first few chapters of the story was pretty weird, the story progresses well and you actually see visible character development in the chapters all the
...
way till the end.
This manga really depicts how a normal, functional, mature relationship should be, where a couple works through their problems together and solves their problems in a mature way. There's no denseness, no NTR, no stupid stuff. All the characters know what they want and are willing to put in the effort to get it.
Natori and Asako are so cute together too :)

I do not normally label something as "dreadful" or "horrendous", but I will make an exception for Japan Sinks. It was beyond dreadful.
I am a guy who doesn't mind watching things out of my comfort zone. I am a slice of life/romance kind of guy but every now and then I will watch a more "dark" and "edgy" show, which is why I have Made in Abyss in my plan to watch. I chanced upon this anime and thought to myself, "Hey this looks interesting, its backed by Netflix, it must have some standard to it right ?" WRONG.
The storyline was dreadful. Like
...
seriously, the whole of Japan sinking ? I get that it's an anime, but that concept would not work. The characters. They really tried to make light out of a very shitty situation where they could all die if they were not careful. But the next thing you know these characters are jumping off waterfalls and fanboying over this foreign youtuber, which is VERY FAR OFF from how people would react in the SAME situation.
I had to stop after the third episode because it got so painful to listen to the dialogue and these characters speak in English when it is so damn unnecessary. Visually, I can allow it since animating is very hard work. But my god is the plot and dialogue so badly written.
2/10. Could've been a 1/10 but I gave an extra point for the animators. Another bad job by Netflix honestly. Don't watch this.
