Hopped on your profile after reading your review on the latest Mushoku season. I've got to say, while you seem to view the series much more pessimistically than I do, I cannot deny the fact that this season has had some major flaws in its writing and it's plot progression.

I don't know if you agree with me to this end, but the first season of Mushoku is genuinely one of my favourite pieces of medias, despite a lot of the degeneracy. I believe this is because season 1 made great efforts in immersing viewers into its world, whilst also taking it's character relations seriously. It was what maintained my suspension for disbelief, as yes, I could see a fantasy world that is far more developed magically than it is both scientifically and psychologically have a moral system as degenerate as that.

This new season is all over the place, with so many plot conveniences that made Rudy's journey so easy, he was never pushed into a corner with little options to choose from. The complete character assassination of Roxy to just be a love interest is INSULTING. , it all points towards the fact that what was shown in the first season was a facade, and the mask is slowly slipping off.

At the same time, the other story beats throughout the season, especially with Rudy's siblings, and his parents, were all so very touching. It's like, when the show wants to, it can write some genuinely touching moments, whilst also leveraging the fact that this is an isekai, and using the MCs past life as a point of contrast with his current one.

I apologize for the random rambling on your profile. It's just I feel like despite our overall opinions of the show might be in opposition, I can't help but feel like someone like you will understand where I'm coming from, and that what I'm saying isn't unreasonable.
