TLDR; I have to admit if you lower your standard, it is quite enjoyable since the main character isn't a weak bitch. Though the main character is not going to develop any real motive than to stay alive and that's it. She's a lovable idiot that doesn't have any real depth to her. She just unknowingly collecting her harem just like any other otome fucking stories. It wants to be a parody but it fails because it itself is stereotypical. It's like Adam Sandler making a parody of Adam Sandler.
Art: 7
Story: 5
Character: 5 (would have gotten six but weak depth to the main character is
...
a set back)
Enjoyment: 5

I came looking for the manga after have watched 2 episode of the anime. So my review is most for those whom got interested from the anime and want to read ahead. I will be brutally honest. It's not really worth it. The anime production was honestly better. Not that the manga was bad it's just not that good either. It's honestly pretty average. ( I have 0 idea if the LN is good or not. )
So why is it average? I THINK, I honestly don't know but I think it is the lack of either experience or communication between Hidaka Nami (the artist) and Yamaguchi Satoru (the writer). Nothing about the art was wrong. Hidaka Nami did a great job with the drawings but conveying the emotional stuff always comes off quite generic and lacking. So yeah sorry to say, it doesn't feel like it really comes from her heart. Then again it is Yamaguchi Satoru's story. So he should also have done better job at communicating the heavier part. (If they work together at all?) However, I might also be too judgy. This manga is supposed to be a parody of otome games right?
So it's a parody of otome games and the main character is supposed to know the genre and all... yet the main character remain painstakingly fucking stereotypical. Stupidly fucking dense. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I don't like dense character. In fact I love them, they're adorable IF done right. Ok, so let me explain. Our main character likes love novels and romantic stories in general. She has not only during her previous years read and played many romance games even in her afterlife as Katarina she still continues to read them. SO SHE OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO READ THE MOOD? Like for FUCKS sake, being kissed on the neck and accept the excuse that it was because of A FUCKING MOSQUITO... SHE IS ABOUT 30 YEARS OLD!
Anyways, I had high hopes. I thought finally a strong female lead who actually wants to lead her own life and not be led by others. In a way she does just that and that was probably why I read all the 24 chapter. She does thing in her own pace but sadly her pace is very stereotypical. I thought maybe this could be the new skip beat. Like really they even showed her thought process where she would think to herself as a counsel with other version of her-selves like in Skip Beat. But sorry. There isn't going to be any real depth to it really. The main character is not going to develop any real motive but to stay alive and that's it. She just unknowingly collecting her harem just like any other otome fucking stories.
Aaaand that's it for my rant. Sorry if it's bad writing. But still I wanted to rant and have an opinion. Also another good harem with a main character that actually reflect on stuff while focusing on romance; Kiss him, Not me. Then there's Oresama Teacher but this one doesn't focus much on romance but more on their daily life....as least it did last I read it. Bye~

This show is definitely not for everyone. If you see many fan service in this anime then it is not for you or if you hate it after 2 or 3 episode then you don't need to go further. It won't really get better in term of story wise or animation wised. Also don't watch this if you're expecting it to be like other anime because it won't. At least from most anime I have seen Air Master still stand as pretty unique from others. Of course not because it's good but it just doesn't follow rules that makes a story good. I'll try to
...
explain it short.
Story; 3
Art; 7 (If kanon(2006) and clannads(2007) faces are good then air master(2003) is good)
Sound; 7
Character; 4 (Decent enough to not bore but not good enough to remember)
Enjoyment; 9 (Good flow/directing so it's good to mindlessly binge)
Overall; 6
For example, it's hard to spoil this show because the anime is almost episodic, thus, don't really have any plot to follow or to spoil. Then for an almost episodic story, it would need a good cast don't you think? Not necessarily, this series don't have cute cast like Lucky Star or funny cast like How I met your Mother. At least not in the typical term of cute or funny. Think of this show as Naruto but without Naruto wanting to become Hokage, and his friends got no ambitions other than to follow him. Though Maki might resemble Sasake more than Naruto. Hopefully, you see that setting won't work... at least not for some. Not everyone has a taste for seeing and hearing a motive less character even with fights. This is what I can understand why some people don't like it.
It's not like I'm a special snowflake who likes quirky character or thing, it's almost weird to actually enjoy Renge's character yet I do. If you can't find charm in weirdly and annoying character with too much ego then that's fine for not liking this anime. However, something like art style or animation argument is mostly BS to me. After this sentence it'll mostly rant so you can stop reading here.
---
People who argument about the art. Stop right fucking there. For me if anything is done right in this anime it's the art. Sure the animation is bad comparing to FMA from 2003. Yet the art is unique and honestly good. Maki being a hunk is pretty expected if she's going to withstand a blow that can break a fucking wall. Though sure to break a wall you might need to look like a character from Baki but the point is. Their proportions are good to used in a fight. Also if this anime had the Clannad anime style or Kyoto Animation's style (no offense) it wouldn't be about the fight but how pretty the fight is instead.
Okay so here's about the fighting. Sure the anime lack good animation but that's where a good directing comes in. It's Daisuke Nishio whom directed this anime. He has directed Dragon Ball series, One Piece and more. Those I've seen are One Piece and Futari wa Pretty Cure. Both shows has a lot of actions with less frames, however, has a lot of "force" in every hit. That's what he is good at and that's what make the fighting good without the Naruto/Baki like actions. Also the fighting seems more down to earth and powerful when you can see and follow how each hits connects.
Lastly, I want to mention the "fanservice"... If those white panties turns you on then leave this anime. It's not even trying to bring attention to those panties and Mina's big boobs are so cartoonishly over fucking exaggerated that only retards can get turn on from it. It's so obvious that is supposed to be made fun of and if they want to sexualize the panties then why would they not shade the genitals to make it look more provocative and eye catching? I never even once batted an eyes on them. Sure I may be a girl but I don't look at guys crotch either. Either way there's no boob movement in the fight like High School of the Dead and there no showing of them in any fights either. (I'm not counting Maki's first fight with Julietta as it clearly wasn't a fight.) Stop these retarded horny comments on this anime please.
That's it for me.

Honestly, I hated it.
I hated it because I really enjoyed it in the beginning but as soon as the antagonist is revealed it all goes downhill. Not sure if they were cut short by the publishers or the writer just gave up. Either way it is bad. I would advise you to just save your time and ignore this manga. Although, I want you to support the artist because the only thing that got me through this manga was because of the art.
Okay, I'll try to explain why the story sucked so much ass without spoilers. The reason for the time machine is SPOILERS!!!
...
FUCKiNG METEORITES! Which fucks up everyone on earth in later years but it is totally fucking safe to transfer something that stabilize earth from the "primal age" to present as long as it is not "too much". Because a child prodigy that has traveled back in time and lived there for like years said it is fine. Also that child prodigy is the antagonist that doesn't trust in friendship because our protagonist has been tricked to betray him when they were like 5. Our child prodigy antagonist can literally hack into giant rats mind, control electricity and has apparently learned everything about earth's physics... but still doesn't know that if a BLACK-FUCKING-HOLE is created ON EARTH it would fuck everything up instantly and not wait and charge until 2032.
How was this black hole created? Our prodigy here has it already dumbed down for us! It is because of two unknown, unknown. UNKNOWN FUCKING ENERGY from TWO FUCKING METEOR decided to fuck each other and gains MASS. A black hole fucking mass on earth everyone. Yet somehow when our antagonist shows the meteor... guess where he putted it. On a fucking table. Just on a normal godfucking table. I can't get over this... I never expected a full essay of how meteor can fuck up earths gravity theory but this isn't edible in any fucking sense. Why not just ditch the scientific explanation and say magic? Shit like "yeah uhh, earth's spirit like uhh needs help. Apparently a meteor has been stuck in his anus and he wanted some one to pull it out... and yeah it has a lot of electricity and uhh you know you can cancel that shit. Do it pussy."
I have never felt more betrayed. The premise was good I smelled a lot of adventures and good old survival of the fittest. Our protagonist that already had the advantage of never had used any electronics had already lived his life in the wild. Well he couldn't even if he wanted to due to a meteorite. Anyways he lacked in social cues and interactions now has to lead these people that never before had built fire without a lighter. "How will he do it?" Kind of feeling. Yes, it was actually fun the first part of it but yeah as soon as the antagonist pops up he surely fucked up everything. Not much for our protagonist but ME mentally. I felt like it was going to be like Planet Earth shit kind of manga but at the end of the day it shat on me like we shit on earth pretty much.
Anyways that's it for me. Thanks for reading my rant. Hope you had some catharsis from this review if you felt the same as me. Don't forget to support the artists though. He did real good fucking job here. Have a good day/night/month/year or a shitty one if you want. Bye<3

I think this review is mostly for those whom have seen the show but if you haven't then let me just say don't watch it and expect for action filled mystery.
The show showed quite early on that it wasn't going to take itself seriously. There is no puzzle to solve or riddles to figure out. It's a ride with family drama because they are quite a dysfunctional family. Which our main character Juri explained to us in the first episode. The show is about the people in this household that don't have their shit together. That is why the most responsible people in the house
...
like the two mothers where not dragged into the stasis.
I'm just a bit pissed by reviews that wrote this show off as straight out shit. It's all about taste when it comes to Kokkoku. If you like characters with realistic take on an unrealistic situation then yeah you'll most likely like it. But if you want answers for all the questions that Kokkoku made then you'll be deeply disappointed. I think in episode two when Juri's grandfather answered her father's question about how the the stasis works, is Kokkoku in a nutshell. The grandfather doesn't have the answer for all those scientific/logical questions. Kokkoku's author doesn't either. So to make the story believable the character has to be believable. That's it. Whether or not they are is actually our view on human behavior which is bias to all.
It's hard to give this anime a review because I viewed it as quite realistic or reasonable but other might not. Even if you find it reasonable then it might not even be your taste. As said, don't watch it and expect an action filled mystery. That I guarantee you it's not. Maybe somewhat but not for the most part. Talking about bias, cause I view this anime as a quite heartwarming family drama with some supernatural twist.
Anyways here's the usual scores and short explanations.
Story: 6
I give the story a 6 cause it was a bit lazily planned out and it's not a new concept but still some originality that made it interesting and fairly executed. In the end it was never about stasis or mystery. Just family drama. That was fine by me. (Also it is a bit about accepting the inevitable deaths and go on with life and "Oh, don't like how this ending? Fuck you. It's intended and ambiguous, get over it." kind of thing. )
Art: 4
Decent. It was sometimes good and sometimes bad. Not outstanding at all. Just decent. There are some CG scenes but it wasn't enough to make want to gauge out my eyes at least.
Sound: 6
I find Juri's voice a bit annoying sometimes but that's me. There's no soundtrack that stood out much. The opening was good though.
Character: 7
Yeah I liked them. Sure the other cult members were flushed down easily, they had no personalities and that's kinda disappointing. I mean personalities/characters can be shown in different ways but Kokkoku just "nah". The main characters were well done in my opinion. They weren't super realistic and complex but it wasn't bad at all. Every choice that they made showed that they have some kind of thought and it reflected their personalities quite well. I liked that.
Enjoyment: 7
I liked that their choices reflected their personalities. It was plausible to me so I enjoyed it even though the world building were kinda messy and lazy. It's a perfect late night binge that isn't trying to be more than what it is. Easy to comprehend and that's it. It was wholesome, I wouldn't wish for another season though.
Overall: 7
Uh yeah.

This is not fully spoiler free.
No, just no. Zoku has been nothing but a chore to watch because of my love for the first season. For the first season I had no expectation at all to it, thus with my expectation already lowered for Zoku when I had to put it on-hold, yet coming back to find myself enjoying it even less.
I felt like I could be bias now for hating on Zoku and some will probably think I am. Therefore my biased score: 4, with two episode of the season in which I could enjoy, being the last episode and Ebina's speech.
I
...
really don't know what the reason for my this is but I have a few theories;
a) Brain's Base misinterpreted Oregairu thus me having wrong image of what Oregairu really is.
b) Studio feel. having reading issues and lack human behavior understanding. (Or me being the one who's wrong.)
c) The LN author decided, "NOPE, let's not have a good progress because I lack social skill just like Hikki".
d) I'm a bitch.
------------------------------------------------
Story, 6:
To be fair I have not read/seen many of SOL+comedy genre but from the most I've seen, they're mostly mediocre, with the only thing keeping it interesting is its exaggerated characters. There are gems out there in which succeeded its genre that I would like to take up. Although I will only end up side tracking (plus not well rounded with this genre enough to pull a good example).
So I'll use the first season to compare it with. The writing in this story was a mess, it's as if the author does not know what to do with the character. There are elements that has such a potential, with Ebina's and Tobe's situation. Ebina's will was sort of unique and showed somewhat originality in the show. The thought of Hikki's wish and how the upcoming situation will help him realize it was so 10/10 until they dropped it to only come up in the last 2 episodes, which was mention like 4 times.
Why would Hikki want something "genuine" when he thinks of it like once a year? Was "genuine" even a thing he wanted?
It's like playing a game in which an idiot decides to only do the side task and never finish the story. Remaining in the same town wondering why the game sucks. Now to the characters side of the show.
Character, 6:
I really wanted to give it a higher score due to its well thought out character. They're all anime trophies, sad to say, yet they were all thought out and give enough presence of a person who actually exist. BUT, Zoku has failed me on this one. The new character was not "exploited" well. A person evolves all the time more or less, maybe even evolving back. We all have time when we retreat. Yet, where is my explaination on Hikki actually becoming more quiet? First season with Yukinon surprised that our boi, Hachiman is actually more chatty than she thought. He snaps people with his harsh comments, people be hating but Hikki is still proud of his voice.
In Zoku, I get that after an event in which people would be disappointed in him would lead in to be more quiet. When he talked was as if he was forced to talk. Yet he spends time a with a lot of chatty people as if he was forced to. As if it's not a big deal, whom I hang out with doesn't change me, only conflict does... In Zoku's case? By marginal. The first season's conflicts outcome was handled good enough to not be considered dumb.
While all Zoku shows is these teenager staggering and wavering like idiots for THIRTEEN episodes, WHOLE FKING SEASON. The conflicts are just side task! The real plot here are finding out what "genuine" is. Just kidding! That's also a side task, the real one being collecting a harem. (With Totsuka as best gal)
In the end all Hikki wanted was just to be truth to himself and be a kind person whom he is. I just don't know why the author just don't add more interaction between the characters instead of side quest. This is when my hopes went down and me hurling up inside, whenever I try to watch the show. The other characters could have pulled out so much from him and him moving them along. Yet, requiring an kouhai in which fits all the statement he hated about Yuki's sister or was at least bothered by. He just somehow came over it.
As I said all staggering and wavering...
Art, 5:
From the production value it's fair. From the story's point of view it's decent. From my point of view? It can suck duck all day long.
It remind me to 70% of the time of a harem. This is a second point in which made me want to hurl. The glossy and light air-ish contrast our boi in so many ways. The directing value fell. The first season had good more or less, that's why people could stand it but no matter how fancy the art looks like if it's handled bad, it's bad. It couldn't choose whom to focus on and details it chose to focus on was so bad that I couldn't even read between the line or interpreted it myself.
"Here's Yuki flinching! She's feeling bad!"
"Here's Yui flinching! She's feeling bad!"
"Here's Hikki flinching! He's feeling bad!"
And when these are shown, they're shown all over the screen, nothing subtle and definitely not realistic. Yuki as a stoic character to flinch as visible as a scared cat. And the animation except the mouth was really not fit to the character. It felt awkward and less to the character trophies they are. There is much character one would draw out yet there is so little being presence in them through out. The girls are glimmering while boys (except Totsuka) was dull. If that is how Hikki sees it then it's understandable but what's with the overly soft fluffly world? Is that how Hikki see's it? Someone explain, I might be a retard.
Sound, 5:
The soundtrack not being the best but at least it delivered to its style!
Didn't liked any of them. But hey if you did I rated 5 for you! (Anyways the first seasons was a bit better, some was catchy and fitted its art style a lot.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tl;dr
Story: It's like playing a game in which an idiot decides to only do the side task and never finish the story. Remaining in the same town wondering why the game sucks.
Character: Teenager staggering and wavering for THIRTEEN episodes, THE WHOLE SEASON.
Art: Art and animation value is decent but frame and directing made me hurl. Not the worst, I'm just bias cause I like first season.
Sound: Good enough.
Did I enjoy it?? XdXDxDDD
NO. I just wanted to rant I guess...sorry for the grammatical wrong if there are.
YuixYuki 4 lyfe, (+I wanna see more Ebina and Hachiman tho)

I must say that I very much enjoyed this mindless fanservice and ADHD actions due to the perfect timing that I stumbled on this show when I was stressed, sad, lonely, bored and 12 when it came out.
Story: 3/10
Ok, I am a woman that hate most of the harems out there but it doesn't apply that I don't appreciate well-written plot with a harem. HOTD had many situations and elements they could elaborate but instead wasted for fanservice and laziness. Since zombie story sells well but it's a cheap excuse for lazy writing. Especially when fanservice takes more time than the actual plot, weak ass
...
zombies and 2-dimensional character setting. I also must admit that this show is great for 3 A.M. when one's brain is not fully functional.
Character: 4/10
As I said if they were not as simple as they were this show could have gotten a bit better ring to it despite the cheap setting and fanservice. I would have given this section a 3 but Saeko was my favorite (I secretly enjoy Saeko's fanservices) and Rei wasn't that bad as a character. Though Takashi just had to be generic... But there'll always be those character that are just there for the sake of being there and small plot-convenient...
Sound: 5/10
Not bad and not remarkable. Not much to comment. It's just mediocre...
Art: 7/10
I won't judge it for the style or the breast size because clearly it was intentional. But yes the size is quite put off while it destroys a character's character.
Anyways the animation was great and the directing was really engage-able. I wouldn't say eye porn like ufotable's fate series but it's good.
Enjoyment: 9/10
I'm going to rewatch this when I want to stay up all night and my brain is practically dead.
Haha, I hope that helps you deciding whether to watch it or not. It's definitely not the worst anime but yeah it's cheap but sells when you're not expecting much.
(Not my native language. Just wanted to say my opinion :v )
