Mixed Feelings
Came for the shoujo-ai tag but stayed for the story concept.

Usually, I would turn away from horror and thriller elements, but each episode unfolded an interesting part of the Otherside (other world).

The art style was so-so. It didn't bother me nor capture my interest.

Each episode continued to explore the other side, which is not necessarily bad, but it started to feel repetitive when one mission or story finishes in just one-two episodes. I was expecting to see more built up that would have made the last few episodes have more at stake and challenges for our main leads.

There were some interesting elements in this season, especially the story presenting the antagonist with reason and dimensionality.

The good vs evil or the hero vs villain

I loved the season for showcasing the character's goals and how sometimes the 'heroes' are not so heroic and perfect. The story concept reminded me of the American series, The Boys.

The set up of the anime universe is based on heroes ranking, fame and challenges the heroes humanity.

I was aware of the shows slow-burn pacing, but some episodes felt a bit dragged out. I appreciate the series for showing and expressing the characters through their inner monologue; however, there wasn't much depth to why Adachi fell for Shimamura. It stems from a possessive mentality that questioned whether I was to root for her. On a positive note, Adachi's feelings for Shimamura brought in possibilities of subtle character development.

The supporting characters ...

I really enjoyed the magic spells, character expressions and vibrant animation.

As a bleach fan, I was delighted to see Tite Kubo's work come back.

Although it had potential, it didn't quite leave a strong impact in terms of story structure. I appreciate the 3 episode series for giving Ninny and Macy some human-like elements and insight into their internal struggles and morals. The episodes do give us a glimpse of Noel's vulnerable side; however, not much was explored for her character. Balgo was a fun addition to keep the show balanced with the tense moments.

I'd be keen to see more episodes or a new ...
