I wanted to give this show an 8 just in term of the enjoyment I had throughout. The comedy is always on point from start to finish. The main characters are very unique and different and so is their relationship. However, there are very flawed aspects in this show that I just can't ignore in a fair review.
First, while the art style is very unique in my eyes, due to the fact this is a 2007 show, the animation is clearly outdated. In fact, I would love to see a remake of this show.
Second, while the story flows from the very begining to around episode

8 and then again from episode 19 on, the episodes in the second act, so to speak, DRAG ON. Seriously, be prepared to face some frustration because the story and characters start going in circles with only the comedy carrying the show.
Third, the side characters while enjoyable and funny receive very little in terms of development. There is one episode dedicated to both side couples and one dedicated to the transgender girl (very good and thoughtful episode, I was impressed by their sensibility in showing this topic in 2007). In my opinion, they could have been fleshed out a lot more, so that we could care more about these characters.
However, if you manage to suffer through the slow middle part of this show, the last act definitely rewards with some really great episodes that made continuing watching it until the end, worth it. If you are a fan of romance anime, this should be obrigatory viewing.
