Ao Ashi - A simple anime about youth football and about dreams of going pro.
Ashi- Meaning "Reed". “Man is but a reed, the feeblest one in nature; but he is a thinking reed.” —Blaise Pascal, a simple phrase that is used in the series a lot.
The anime is about a boy name Aoi Ashito who aspires to become a football pro, he's passion for football and love for his family is what drives him to grow as a person and player.
The series is very interesting and really captures the viewer leaving them on a cliff hanger every episode ( at the time of writing 4
...
episodes are out ) as it gets more exciting as it goes.
Story:
The story is interesting and captivating to whoever is watching or reading if it is the manga, not many sports anime in particular football have this much of an interesting plot to work with. It's fluent and never fails to entertain the viewer, the anime gives reasons for events and even actual facts about football as a whole, real players even being mentioned such as Ronaldo. It stands at the top in my list due to it being realistic compared to other over exaggerated and give some sort of powers to the characters and such. For that i give it a 10.
Art:
Nothing out of this world, although props to Production I.G for trying their best to make the anime have good animations. Animating Football or even basketball anime isn't easy, though i'm glad Kobayashi Yuugo decided to hand the series to them. As a result, it's 6 for me pretty fair,
Characters:
This is where it gets interesting. The main character Ashito is one of my favourite anime protagonists. Sometimes he might act big, but at least he isn't all talk and no bark *Cough Sakuragi Hanamichi Cough*. He understands where he stands and tries to understand situations, he might act all selfish, narcissistic and overall a dumbass but he is actually a really smart guy and listens to others advice and with that he improves. One of my best characters in the series. (1# for me is Ootomo followed by Akutsu) Solid 9.
Enjoyment:
I cannot fathom how much i have enjoyed the series in just 3 episodes, it's very outstanding. I have never enjoyed a football anime this much aside from Days.
A solid 10/10 what are you waiting for? Watch it!
Overall:
10/10 Best football anime i have ever watched and will always be at the top of my list. Hands down best football series every hands down Blue Lock sucks (jk).
Watch it already.
So, the moment i finished watching episode 3 i was so excited that i went ahead and read the entire manga up to date. Let tell ya, the manga is 10x better and i bet a billion yen that you will enjoy it so much more than even the anime, but please also watch the anime cause it's still good. Conclusion, Best sports anime, hands down better than blue lock ( My opinion please don't bring the boys and gang up on me) extremely good, Kobayashi Yuugo is the best author and Hana is best girl change my mind.
The manga is extremely good an in my opinion it is better than the anime.

Ya'know, i wrote a review about the anime saying how great it was, but here we are now. So, i just finished watching episode 20 and.... This man is a complete and utter shit ass, you know why? He literally does not even try to change himself. Not mentally, not physically not even in maturity.
Honestly, what is the point of his presence in this anime if all he does is either get beaten the fuck up or crying in every scene? He couldn't even think " Oh wait, i can plan for training to at least be well of with physical ability, i don't have
...
to be like Draken-kun or Mikey-kun." He lacks everything a protagonist should have, actually, if he trained a little and just got a little stronger, not even Draken level or Mikey level but just to be able to fight. This anime would be even better.
All I've seen is Takemitchy either being a wuss or acting all big and shit. Like holy fuck, talk about 'All talk, No Bark", this man is the definition of pathetic worthless hunk of unwanted material. Even Kisaki who was a normal weak guy got stronger because he wanted to change himself right? All Takemitchy does is wonder why he isn't changing.
Fucks sake, why write a character if it will end up being fucking road kill? I'd prefer any character than this... Abomination, the very meaning of depression.
Although this is my own personal opinion, you're free to choose what to think of it, However, if you like this anime, it's possible that you're a psychopath or masochist. Please, im begging you, reconsider watching or reading this because it will ruin you, i don't recommend this, i would only recommend this if the protagonist wasn't such a fuckin' bitch. Mind you he's a 26-year-old man mentally yet he cries over literally everything. Let me end it at that tho, if i don't, i'll end up wasting 2 hours. Choose wisely.

So, the first comment on this anime that gave it a rating of 1, first of all i want to say is that the review made sense, specifically about how they are recycling characters and power scaling.
However, at first i thought of it the same way due to the way it started off. Although as i watched it, it started becoming interesting and actually makes sense. The jokes are half great and half boring, the fighting scenes however are the really well animated and overall, the animation is really good.
If i were to rate the 6 categories, then first goes is story.
1. I like the
...
world building about Robots and mechanics everywhere due to the present day time. I'd give it an 8/10.
2. The art is pretty good and solid, and its really unique, 8/10.
3. The sound is great as well, not much to say but great voice actors. 10/10.
4. Character wise, well, it is true the characters are recycled especially Happy. It's obvious they just put him there possibly because they couldn't think of a new mascot. Same with Shiki and Rebecca, although not as bad. 4/10.
5. The show was generally uninteresting at first, but as the story progressed it became more interesting and the fights were perfect. 8/10.
6. Overall, the show is very interesting and could get better if given more time, if i were to fix it, i'd just get creative and create characters that aren't so similar, if the pacing was faster, it would be even better. 10/10.
I don't understand why it has a 6.76, i hope it at least get to 7.20 because it has potential to be better. So the anime is just great, just needs a little working of creativity and not just recycling of characters from FairyTail.
