Probably the most underrated series ever (It has part 2 and part 3). It's one of the most charming manga I've ever read too. You want the protagonist and the side characters to be very likeable and fun? Tekken Chinmi got it. You want a fight sequences with an amazing action flow and with a nice strategic side to it? Tekken Chinmi got it. You want a good pacing and paneling that is very easy to follow? Tekken Chinmi got it. Tekken Chinmi is the finest form of a battle Shonen IMO. The only thing the series isn't very good at are the villains but
...
they are still decent and their fights against Chinmi is always fun to read. I absolutely recommend it

I don't quite get the love for this manga. Josuke was so annoying I wanted to punch him. At first he was whatever but from chapter 9 he started to get on my nerves. I was so annoyed when the evil guy choked his little friend and Josuke was taking his time to help him like nothing is happening with his cold face. Not just that, the other evil guy hit his friend's neck with an arrow, and still Josuke's response to help him was very slow which made me more frustrated. This scene alone made me dislike Josuke's character and that's why I dropped
...
the manga very early
There is another reason for me to drop it, I couldn't take it seriously. They LOVE to have long conversations even at the heat of the moment and I roll my eyes whenever this happen. Due to this, the manga became more childish than anything. I will bring up the events in chapter 9 to chapter 11 once again. His friend like I said before was severely injured with an arrow in his neck. So what's the right move here for Josuke? hurry up and save your friend. Instead these chapters were just a long conversation after a long conversation. Like damn Jouske's friend was dying and Jouske just stands there like an idiot and listens to their conversations. I know I sound like a nitpicky guy here but these things just frustrate me a lot.

HxH is a very beloved title but I'm one of those who had issues with it. I will start with my biggest issue, the worldbuilding. It's clear to me that Togashi isn't very good when it comes to worldbuilding. I might even say he doesn't think about it that much when he writes the story up until the Chimera Ants arc. I had issues with the worldbuilding for 2 reasons. the first one is Nen, they try to keep it secret from the public yet you don't see them even trying. Like there is evil Nen users like Hisoka, and the guys from Heavens Arena
...
and many more and the hunters are aware of them yet you don't see them try to stop these guys and put them in jail or something. It's very possible Hisoka, or the ones I mentioned will tell others about Nen but the hunters for some reason don't consider this possibility.
The second reason is the morality. HxH is so convoluted when it comes to morality. For example, When Killua killed 2 dudes for no reason on Netero's airship. No one questioned what he did and it's so weird, especially from Gon. "My friend killed 2 dudes for fun? it's alright, he is my friend after all. If someone else did I will call him monster for that and I will loathe him". That is HxH morality for you
Now let's talk about the Hunter Exam. Everyone loves this arc but I think it's meh. My issue with it is that it's not exciting. The first exam on the ship was lame. Just try to endure the storms from the sea and you will pass. And it doesn't help the exam was very short to even care about. The second exam was also lame. Just a question with a lame answer at the end. Also this exam was very short to even care about just like the first one. The third exam was alright but just like the pervious exams, it was very short and Gon solves it before you even realize it. The fourth exam was so boring. Just run until the end and you will pass. Also I find it pretty unrealistic that many people passed this exam considering many of them were normal people. Like damn they were running nonstop for over 100km. Heck even the fat dude got tired when they reached 80km lol. In reality, your heart will explode after running nonstop for 10km. After that the Hunter Exam got more interesting but I still don't find it that exciting.
Do I recommend this manga? yeah. You will probably like it

Even though Fist of the North Star is influential manga I still think it's outdated. Does that mean I didn't enjoy reading it? no. The art made it WAY easier for me to ignore its flaws. Well, what makes it outdated? I will start with the way the story is told. It's the most basic way to tell a story. Ken goes to a city, it's under a merciless men control, Ken fights them without any tension since he is OP, he kills them with ease and frees the city, rinse and repeat. It feels like the writer only focused on how to make the
...
scenes of Ken killing these awful men without putting a sweat feel amusing and satisfying to the reader. Many people are harsh on One Piece for its repetitive formula but why Fist of the North Star don't get the same treatment? it has repetitive formula too.
The fights are outdated too. How so? they have ZERO tension. Ken always kill his opponents with ease and after reading few chapters you pretty much realize no one will ever make him struggle except for Raoh. So every time his opponent say something like "I will make you suffer" or he starts acting cocky and give a long speech about how strong he is, you be like "Fucking hell shut up and go attack him, Ken will kill you without even trying" lol. So yeah, without the tension the fights kinda get boring pretty fast. The only good thing about them is Ken killing these assholes with no mercy which is satisfying to see.
I also found the backstories to be very basic. Ken wants to kill Shin, why? because he took his girlfriend. Mamiya wants to act more like a man, why? because some dude that are interested in women took her because she looked beautiful. And the most basic backstory is Yuda's. He hates Rei, why? well he sees himself as the most beautiful man ever. So one day he saw Rei killing an eagle and that captivated him so he got mad and started to loathe Rei. Yup that is Yuda's backstory, and it's so basic it hurts.
Do I recommend this manga? Yeah. It's outdated in my opinion but the art is amazing and watching Ken killing the criminals with the most brutal ways hardly gets old

I'm trying to figure out how to feel about this manga. It's such a hit or miss I'm starting to question if I kinda like it or just find it average. First let's talk about the main cast, Mitsuhashi has moments that make him likeable but overall he is kinda irritating with the way he acts and how he treats other people. I liked Itou more since he's nice and helpful person unlike Mitsuhashi. The other characters are average and I don't feel anything about them. I want to talk more about the characters but I can't since I've only read 45 chapters.
Now let's talk
...
about my issues with this manga. The first issue is more personal than anything, and that is I'm not a big fan of the episodic slice of life formula, at least lately. I have short attention span and this formula is the way to remind me of my short attention span which leads to me saying "I hate myself" lol.
The second issue is kinda hard to put in word, I will try my best. I think the world feels off to me. How so? well it just feel so colorful it throw me off. Take Mitsuhashi for example, he is so strong he can take 8 guys that are older than him. Him being super powerful doesn't feel earned and I think the author himself didn't care about this. Like I wanted to see Mitsuhashi struggle when he fights even 2 guys. Basically, I wanted the manga to feel more realistic. Instead the manga felt like Mitsuhashi's imaginary world since everything is handed to him and almost everything revolve around him. The same can be said about Itou. Like I said it's kinda hard to put in words but I hope you got my point lol
The third issue is minor and that is the art. It's a bit charming sometimes but a lot of the times it just looks average. Tbh the scans were dry and rough so I think they made the art worse than it actually is.
Do I recommend this manga? yeah I think it's kinda fun. You will probably like it more than I did

Even tho I dropped it I think this manga is fun to read. The concept is insane and it's over the top and the main characters are likeable to some extent. Then why did I drop it? Well simply because I just wanted more of the evil son. To put you in context, the story revolves around 2 sons searching from a perfect wife from earth for their father, a devil from the other world I guess. One is good, and the other is evil. At first I found the good son to be a fun protagonist but when I saw more of the evil
...
son I kinda got bored of the good son. And it doesn't help that later on the arcs become longer than 3 to 4 chapters. The manga followed a pattern which is writing an arcs in a span of 3 to 4 chapters so when the arcs became longer than 8 chapters I couldn't help but feel they started to drag on and on. Also the good son was the main focus and I actually skipped many chapters to see if the evil son will appear later on but it seemed he won't appear anytime soon. I skipped around 30 chapters and there was no sign of him which bothers me which is why I dropped the manga after reading 45 chapters.
So yeah the manga was kinda fun but I had my reasons to drop it. Check it out you might like it
