The 800-year old caring demi-god fox Senko with her shining soft fur maybe nothing like the 16-year old Umaru who is a lazy little troublemaker in her hamster-hoodie in terms of personality, but she sure shares a similar charm. Both Umaru and Senko are orange epitomes of cuteness, and if you liked one, you will certainly like the other! The main scene in both the anime is the typical suburban metropolitan household and both shows find warmth and humor in the most mundane of the quotidian happenings. In addition, the other main character Nakano is very much a workaholic like Taihei, the only difference being that while Taihei sails through the day like a pro and finds time for his sister and cooking, Nakano is overwhelmed by his daily grind. All-in-all, while both shows have seemingly different premises and storyline, the character, setting and overall vibe are very much resonant.
