I'll just get straight to it :D (minor spoiler ahead)
Story - 10 Honestly I'm not the most emotional person out there when it comes to media and fiction in general, but this manga has made me tear up a few times. It's quite light hearted most of the time but the melancholy (even if it's not meant) is so strong at points that the stupid onion cutting ninjas appear. even though it's only 17 chapters deep at the time of writing this review (eng translation) it's still quite impactful, while at the same time being very surface level? it's hard to explain but hopefully you'll understand ...

This manga is a masterpiece, if you don't read it you will die unhappy. there is nothing else that needs to be said.
Sadly I do need to write more cause there's a minimum word count :( Art - 7 it ain't bad but there isn't anything special about it really Character - 10 Honestly both riko and the mc (he doesn't have a name atm) are funny asf ...

I'm don't understand how this manga has received such a low rating, personally I think it's a very enjoyable read and it definitely deserves a higher score
Story: 9 the story is great, the monkey idea is something i haven't seen before and the fact that they are in the mountains adds a nice touch to the horror. There is also the fact that problems such as starvation and dehydration are shown which makes it more realistic Art: 7 It's nothing special but it's not bad either not much to say really Character(s): 8 The characters are realistic, when dehydration kicks in some are selfish and persuade others into ...

i really enjoyed this manga for a multitude of reasons
1. the art, while clearly inspired by junji ito, is amazing and adds to the scary elements of the story 2. the mix of horror, comedy and very slight romance is nice and while it is scary the light-heartedness counters it perfectly 3. the story, while usually i like it when stories have consequences e.g someone gets possessed one chapter and is therefore possessed in the next, this manga only does this during arcs and i think it adds to the manga as a whole, while usually (in my opinion) doing that takes away from the story and ... |
