I really loved this anime, probably my favorite comedy alongside Joshiraku and Yuyushiki, and Kitakubu seems to be a cross between the two, with Joshiraku's satire and fourth wall breaking and Yuyushiki's everyday jokes, it's a beautiful anime.
Is the Kitakubu production of poor quality? For me there is no problem, in fact, the anime takes the opportunity to make frequent meta-comments and use a self-deprecating humor. You can say that the seiyuus were rookies when they made this anime (even today some only have two roles), but that gives a special touch to the voices and I love it.
I will not do a more extensive
...
review because it is not necessary, but this anime is a masterpiece.

I started watching Release the Spyce because someone said it was something similar to Toji no Miko (an underrated masterpiece). And yes, the truth is they are somewhat similar, if we are based only on the concept of 'high school girls fighting with a bit of yuri', but they are quite different apart from that.
Story: 6/10
Well, the story is interesting. The 'spies' theme is something I haven't seen in many anime, and this one somehow executes it decently. It places the story from the perspective of an average girl who starts out as a spy in the group 'Tsukikage', it presents us with an interesting
...
plot about an evil organization called Moryo that is related to certain drugs, and through the series, we see the Spygirls defeat various members of other organizations that are related to Moryo, but that in the end of the case are only used as distractions by this evil organization, which made me intriguing.
BUT, here lies the main difference with Touji no Miko. While the latter at least gave you a kind of context about the world and where the superpowers of the tojis came from, in Release the Spyce we know that girls obtain superhuman abilities from the 'spyce', but it is never explained to us why this Spyce only It works on young girls, we don't know the complete past of Tsukikage and when and why it was founded, nor do we know what the 'spyce' really is and where it comes from, which leaves many things unknown. Obviously, it was 12 episodes, but I feel like several episodes were unnecessary and could have been used for worldbuilding.
Art: 9/10
I can't say much. The animation is generic and so are the designs, but is that bad? Not at all, I'm not picky about these sections. The designs are simple, but I found them cute, so that's fine. There were parts where the animation looked weird, but I didn't complain too much about it. Mind you, the fights were beautiful in my opinion, I enjoyed them too much.
Sound: 10/10
Umm, I think one of the things I liked the most was the OST of the show, as well as the OP and ED. They were just great, nothing more to say.
Character: 8/10
For a series that doesn't aim for much, the characters are really great. I don't believe in dividing the characters into 'three-dimensional' or the like, but I can say that these characters were to some extent realistic and well done. But, unlike the characters in amazing Touji no Miko, although in Release the Spyce each character has their own conflicts and thoughts, I feel like many needed a little more background. Momo is the best character in the series, obviously, not only is she the best girl, but she is the best written, but there are characters like Hatsume who were not a big deal.
Momochi: Momo is a very good character. She is presented as an average high school girl, sweet, kind, cheerful, but somewhat shy, which is why she starts out as a social isolate in her second year of high school. She has a strong sense of justice, especially since her father was a cop, but at the same time she is a coward. By joining Tsukikage, we see how Momo strives to become stronger day by day, this thanks to the help of her 'shishou', she goes through hard training but gets used to it over time, we see her fail and make mistakes in some missions , but learn from these, to take the lead in the final mission. The end of the series shows great maturity on her part, because although she was unwilling to separate from her 'shishou' and that she lost her memories, Momo ended up accepting the decision, and transmitted the feelings inherited from her shishou to her next student.
I don't want to extend too much, but the other characters were also interesting, with their own problems, but they, unlike Momo, do not show great development and lack a background.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Well, the series is not boring at all. Every episode is entertaining, comedy is good for this type of series, the fight scenes were the best, and it keeps you hooked if you are someone who enjoys this type of series.
Overall: 8/10
A better-than-average series speaking of CGDCT (although it doesn't have much moe), but it still doesn't surpass the masterpiece for superior people: Toji no Miko.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS.
After watching the first episode of the anime, I was quite curious about some scenes from the Opening, so I read the manga right away. It is a somewhat hasty review, or perhaps not, because with about 20 chapters you can already say something about the work.
Story: (7/10)
The synopsis is quite simple and generic, even at the beginning it can appear to be another story of the lot similar to BNHA, with the narrative of a generic and friendly protagonist. But as soon as the first chapter ends, we have a pretty good plot-twist and the synopsis of the story stops being
...
important because it is completely canceled.
Let's start with the setting. The high school they attend reminds me something of YouJitsu's Koudou Ikusei, an elite high school that finds itself isolated from society. Supposedly, the gathered students are young people with superpowers who must defeat 'the enemies of humanity' who are supposed to be a class of monsters, but later it seems that this is a hoax that the members of the school are unaware of, and it seems that there are an organization behind all this, but the story doesn't elaborate much on that, at least as far as I've read. The story goes from being the day to day in a school of superpowers, to a story similar to Death Note with two protagonists, Nana as the killer and Kyouya as the detective. There are a lot of mysteries, manipulations, plans and other things that make the story interesting. It has some holes, yes, but it is still well written.
Art (10/10)
There is not much to say, I find the art simply beautiful for a shonen manga. Nana's design is attractive and cute, and the other characters also have designs that quite fit the work.
Character (8/10):
Okay, this is a psychological work, so the most important section lies here. Although at the beginning Nanao introduces himself as the MC, throughout the story we see that the two true main characters with Nana and Kyouya.
Nana: At the beginning of the manga, she could have been the stereotypical heroine of a nekketsu manga, but as soon as the first chapter ends, she reveals her true personality. Nana is a manipulative, calculating and cold girl. She has no qualms about fooling everyone with a friendly and optimistic facade, while inwardly planning to murder them one by one. Now, although she may seem like some kind of psychopath and one-dimensional character, Nana has her reasons. She acts under her own moral code, and she does not believe that doing it is wrong, because for her the talented are the true 'enemies of humanity', so she only fulfills the work that was entrusted to her. Nana's character is very well written in my opinion, although I have read that many say that she has an incredible Plot-armor, I think this is not correct. In fact, it seems that Nana has some prior training, as she is not only an expert at murdering people, but also has a calculating ability worthy of a genius. From the beginning she managed to gain the trust of the entire class and before they began to suspect her, she positioned herself as the victim during one of the attacks and then became the class representative. Clearly, she is quite cold and cruel when acting, that shows how well prepared she is, so she executes macabre but effective plans. Since she gained the trust of the class, Kyouya is unable to accuse her as no one would believe him without evidence. Of course, Nana is not completely a girl without feelings, during the murder of the necromancer girl, she hesitated before killing her so she wanted to find out if she was a good person or not, as soon as she found out that she was a disgusting stalker, she killed her without doubt. Also her way of treating Michiru is quite different, even if it is a facade. She also seems to have a soft side for animals.
Kyouya: Well, our co-protagonist, who by the way, reminds me a lot of Houtarou from Hyouka, both in looks and personality. Kyouya starts out as a somewhat mysterious badass, socially isolated and uninterested in what was going on around him. As the story progresses, we understand that he is quite an observant, analytical, logical and rational person. Kyouya is a great boy, after all he has a taste for video games, he is a manga lover and he likes idol music, * cough cough * although this has nothing to do with it, but he is simply a great guy. He seems to be a bit socially awkward, so he doesn't really know what impression he makes of himself on others. Kyouya's analytical abilities are of a fairly high level, and from the looks of it, he has quite a lot of knowledge in different matters and combined with his immortality, it's understandable that he's so smart. He knows from the first chapters that Nana is the murderer, but why doesn't he accuse her? Many people call him a fool for simply not discovering that Nana is the murderer, but he already knows it, the fact is that he is unable to say it since he has no proof, he does not know Nana's motives, and the confidence that she has been won makes it impossible for him to compete against her. Nana says it, "the others will believe the people, not the truth", so for someone socially outcast it is impossible to compete against a girl as popular as Nana. However, he came close to defeating Nana during the deaths of those two gyarus, and if it wasn't for Nana risking going for the third plan, he would have won, so it's interesting to see how the story unfolds and how they mutually intercept each other's plans.
Enjoyment (10/10):
Yup. The story is extremely entertaining, regardless of whether it is good or not, by reading it you can be quite entertained. Well, that's if you're not one of those whiners who hate Nana for being ruthless, but for me that made the story more entertaining. The plans can leave you quite surprised, at least for the most part.
Overall (09/10):
Well, the manga is surprisingly good for a shonen manga. Better this one opted for a psychological manga over a trash nekketsu, ugh. It doesn't have many problems, but the only one that I can mention is that the author abuses plot-twists and twisted personalities a lot, to the point that it is difficult to trust that there is a genuinely nice character. That, and some holes in story.
