Okay, so this is a very love it or hate it type of story. Especially considering the way the story is written because people will fucking hate it. I can't believe the author decided to write the story like this, because it's incredibly ballsy.
Just know that, personally, I fucking love this story.
You know how most stories where there's a dungeon of 100 levels, they don't really write about every fight, and every level, they do timeskips and stuff? This story, DOES NOT DO THAT, if the protag goes through 100 floors, they go through 100 floors, and I'm like, "Holy Shit, this fucker's actually going
...
through with this."
Let's split the narrative into sagas for now. As of current, I've only read up to 8 volumes because that's only what's translated in english. There are 21 volumes I think, but now that there's an anime out, more volumes may be translated faster.
But let's say that:
SAGA 1: "Volumes 1-3" Omui Saga
SAGA 2: "Volumes 4-7" Kingdom Saga
SAGA 3: Volume 8-???"
SAGA 2 is fucking peak.
SAGA 1 is alright, it charmed me with it's ridiculous writing style, but the Volume 2 is such a fucking mental battle. That's where I bring up the 100 levels thing, because it fucking did that.
The story documents things day by day, and documents morning, afternoon, and night, and sometimes some parts of the day are elongated due to different perspectives.
This is a bizzare writing style, of which I think is a thing some people would hate but some people would get really charmed by.
I almost dropped it at Volume 2, but then Volume 3 dropped and I started loving it. The perspective of influential people to this autistic ass crazy boy is very fun to watch.
The title says "Loner Life In Another World", which is peculiar, because I don't think that's his most defining trait. It's his sheer autism that makes him most entertaining.
In the story, he has a moniker of which is called "The Enemy of Common Sense", of which I think is a very fitting moniker.
The story goes as follows, his class gets reincarnated to another world, he tries to escape it but as a result he gets reincarnated late and all the good skills have been picked out by his classmates. He verbally abuses and glares at God, scowls at him saying what the fuck, and so God feels threated and gives him the remaining skills, of which are all terrible sounding.
But, combined, it makes him somewhat competent.
All his female classmates are fond of him, but know that it's not a harem. NONE of them like him romantically, but that probably will change, it's yet to happen though. They all just really trust him, you kinda hate the girls but also love them.
I'll talk about SAGA 2 now, and especially Day 77 which takes place in Volume 7, because holy shit, that is so peak. It's one of my most reread moments in fiction of all time.
You see, most stories have "Pop Off" moments where it's with the strength of the protag, but for this one moment, it's more than just that. This is like one of those "Conqueror Haki" moments in fiction, where the protag steps into the limelight and he shuts up all negative things surrounding him. Holy shit, I'm BUSTING the fattest nut just thinking of it.
More than anything, if you're strong enough to listen to someone say "Read it up to Volume 7", then go do that. Volume 2 is kind of a tough read, so listen to it through an audiobook form if needed.
Another review complained how there's no end goal.... there kind of is a looming threat but we are not sure of it yet as a whole. I mean, there is the minor antagonism in SAGA 2, but the major looming threat is still unknown, but it does show itself as early as in Volume 2.

Please give this show a chance! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I'm hoping by the end of the season, the show's rating should stand up to at least a 7 rating.
MORE THAN ANYTHING, this review is written by someone who's insanely picky with the stories he likes and enjoys the source material (the light novels) a whole lot. So, if you don't like reviews regarding anime where the adaptation has yet to show it's best parts yet, take this with a grain of salt.
Everyone else keeps shitting on it because it has yet to show it's potential. This is genuinely one of my favourite
...
light novels of all time. It has one of my favorite moments in all of fiction. People are shitting on it saying it's got that thing where it's an average isekai, protag gets a harem, OP protag-- Oh my god. PEOPLE BE WHINING, SAYING IT'S A HAREM, IT'S NOT EVEN A HAREM. NONE of the female students, have yet to get romantic feelings towards him even in the novels (as far as things have been translated, 8 volumes in), it's literally just trust for now. (I do feel like it could get to romance, but as for now, the female classmates are just like the girls of Konosuba where you kinda hate them but you also love them)
(He does get pussy but it's not with his classmates.)
More than anything, I'm even very happy about this adaptation but the sheer amount of people shitting on it makes me despair. The only thing I kinda don't like about the adaptation is how it's not gorey, as a lot of moments in the novels had monsters have their guts everywhere, not them being spared like they show in the anime.
I think it's the title of the anime that's irritating people.
"Loner Life in another world". He's not exactly a "Loner", more than anything, his most defining trait is how crazy and ridiculous the protag is. How often he defies the odds is something that is very enjoyable to see.
As the story goes on, his feats are less about his "strength" but more about his ridiculous rational, and exploits that he does WITHOUT using his powers even.
I would probably recommend the anime over the novels due to how fucking unbelievable the author's writing style is. They skip days in the anime, but I want you to know, that the novel does not do time skips which is crazy. I was reading it and thinking "Holy shit, this fuckers actually going through with this". You know how some anime, when there's a dungeon with 100 floors, they just barely cover what happened when the protags traverse it. No, in this story, they go through every fight and every level, across every day and it's seriously crazy. I think the author is as crazy as the protag.
I'm expecting the anime to adapt up to Volume 3 which I think is a decent stopping point, but if this show gets a season 2, that whole arc goes fucking crazy. Day 77, to the light novel readers who's reading this, you know that shit is crazy peak. Day 77 takes place in Volume 7, and I would love to see it adapted.
If you see this. Please give the show a chance. If you can't stand the show now, wait for it to finish, and binge it, I swear it's peak.
Though more than anything, this is a love it or hate it type of show in the same sense as "I Parry Everything". There are some disbelief moments like in "I Parry Everything", but personally I fucking love that shit.
8/10.
