While not the greatest Studio Ghibli film by any measure, I was thoroughly entertained by the creative and strange story of a young girl and her adventures in a world of cats.
Morita has a slightly cruder, more realistic sense of the world and its looniness than does Miyazaki, and you can see where The Cat Returns moves on a different track even as it pays homage to Japan's current animation master.
The story whisks gracefully along with little saunters and pitter-patters of humour. A Princess-and-the-Cat tale that also coolly reflects the arrogant aloofness, suave superciliousness and intriguing independence of man's best-when-convenient friend.

Akira is by far the best anime film I've seen till now. It was so captivating, fast-paced and jam-packed with action that I never realized how quickly 2 hours flew by. It's a mind-blowing cyberpunk action film that has a number of great things which include the simple but fresh story that is absolutely driven by action sequences and the gorgeous animation that encompasses every single bit of it. It's also a gory experience, so I can't recommend it for kids. For adults, it's a full-blown explosive ride!
Akira is not a dramatic piece or a slow-paced character commentary, if that's the impression of the film
...
you got from its phenomenal critical reception and reputation. Instead, it's a full blown action film loaded with high-speed motorbike chases, explosions and large-scale destruction; in simple words, it's an action fan's dream come true. I could feel the efforts by the makers in every single shot and it was really hard to believe the film was drawn entirely by hand, and especially when it's mostly nonstop action for 2 hours.
The film's story is impressive even if you might find the concept of uncontrollable power a bit dated now. The spectacular animation is what surprises me a lot for a 1988 film and undoubtedly it has aged very well. How I completely understood the characters was another plus; the dialogue was not at all difficult or hard to follow. Japanese filmmakers truly know the art of crafting a masterpiece, and Akira is definitely one of them. The depiction of 2019 is stunning and gives futuristic vibes even though it's no longer set in the future.
Akira is, all in all, an exciting action film that is like part superhero, part biker story but a perfectly balanced version of both themes instead of one. It might not be recommendable for kids due to the gory action and some intense scenes, but the overall tone is exciting and fun enough to entertain anyone for 2 hours without holding back. I was so impressed that I even watched the end credits, something to happen after a very long time. If I ever get a chance to collect it on DVD/Blu-ray, I'll never miss it at any cost. And yes, don't worry. It won't leave you sad or depressed but instead happy to have invested your time in watching the right film.

Masterful written plots on an episodic format that culminates into a beautiful bitter sweet ending anyone could ask for! The Philosophical themes and the variety of genre's crammed into it's 26 episodes are very engaging and are still relevant even today. I just loved the main characters as they wonder around aimlessly and without purpose on a seemingly living breathing world of Cowboy Bebop looking for there missing catharsis while observing the side characters going through there own hardships and raison dêtre.
Shinichiro Watanabe Thank you this anime is the Gold standard for writers and probably animators to strive to or even surpass

Samurai Champloo is so much more than a stylish and contemporary swordfest. It is also a masterpiece of off-beat comedy and a lesson for most writers in the art of storytelling and character development. Set in an extremely abstract (and almost parallel dimensional) Edo Japan, it is full to the brim with clever quips and fantastical storylines. It boasts, without any question, the most enjoyable and instantly likeable principal characters I have ever seen in anime, all of whom are hilarious in their own way.
Ah, just watch it. To say anything else would spoil it for you. Enjoy the ride. And the vibe.

THIS IS JUST THE BEST ANIME FOR ME
I have never ever cried so much on any other anime. Even the most unnesscary(sorry for the spell) flashbacks can make you cry from villain to villain no matter how much irritating they. They are unique in their own way
My favourite is obviously Kakashi Itachi and Gaara!!
Not also that naruto teaches us a lot of important things, like never ever give up on your dreams, do not leave your friends and who are dear to you alone. There are lots more
Also the greatest 4th ninja war is awesome. If you havent watched this you should. You will
...
regret later if you dont watch this
Anyways a very great anime!!!!

Jesus Christ, we just need to kill the isekai trend already. With this one, though, I can't tell if it wants to parody certain other isekai shows on a subtle level or just play it completely straight. Usually that means a show is trying to split it right down the middle and not commit to either concept, which also usually means the show is going to suck balls. And, yep this one sucks balls.
The digs at other shows are pretty low key for the most part, with the 'Explosion' magic joke being the only real overt piece of side poking, but it
...
doesn't do a whole lot to establish a breakaway from anything else either. The main character is gifted with every conceivable ability and skill necessary to run amok as a messiah figure, he's surrounded by females (lampshaded in episode 4), fantasy world setting where somehow everything is actually clean and sanitary despite being renaissance level technology at best, monsters are stupidly easy to beat yet somehow a threat to everyone else, and so on and so forth. I figured the show wasn't supposed to be taken seriously when it was explained that polygamy is supposedly the "norm" in this world according to God, yet not one single character so far has more than one wife. All that ends up doing is being self-serving for the "harem" bullshit to continue. Of course, God could just be full of shit. Not that he has heretofore been a liar, but he has admitted to being a careless dunce at least once so who knows. Also, that bit with exposing the Count as the villainous would-be assassin was 100% Wisconsin Swiss cheese. The rest, though, is your standard party running around doing things with quests and monsters and magic and blah.
So if it is just going to play things straight, then this is ****ing boring. All the moe girl waifu fags will have their fun with the cornucopia of nubile females to choose from, but anybody wanting anything with substance is going to be left out in the cold. There is zero creativity here, which usually implies they're trying to poke fun at other things rather than use their own unique ideas, but there isn't enough parody here to be a full on satirical farce. As for the smartphone, shit he barely uses it. I don't even know what it is there for. He's looked up a recipe for ice cream and roll cake (the latter done off screen), he's used the GPS system a couple of times, took a few photos, and found out one of his favorite musical groups is breaking up, but other than that, it hasn't been anything more than a reminder he isn't from around there to he audience. I guess the smartphone serves as his "mascot", even though the thing doesn't have sentience, but whatever.
Shit sucks.

Welcome to Quin Decim, mystical bar of fate.
What happens when two people, whether they're strangers or the closest of companions, are pitted against each other in a seemingly mundane contest, with the stakes being their own lives? Suspicions, outrage, deceit, bargaining, and all manner of psychological warfare commence, all in the name of survival. However, is everything as it appears?
------If you have questions or comments about this review, please message me------- Note: I feel this episode 0, if you will, should actually be seen after the first two episodes of the Death Parade TV series. That way, one has an idea what's going on,
...
and who the characters are. Part of the mystery of the one-shot may be dispelled, but it made much more sense and was more interesting and compelling having seen some of the series.
Story: 9
Two persons enter, and play what's a seemingly unremarkable game, such as darts, bowling, or in this case: pool. The people have no memory of why or how they've come to be at the Queen Decim, and are given no explanation of why they're being forced to play the game; other than that their lives are on the line. The alternative to playing is explained as "not something they want to experience."
Eventually, after bargaining, attempts at escape, and outright threats, our contestants concede, and begin their life altering game.
Outwardly, we watch two people locked in a simple contest of pool, each demanding no less than victory for themselves, if only for the pride of winning. Inwardly, we see a classic struggle: a clash between souls, with the ultimate reward or price at stake.
The interplay of fear, suspicions, motives, emotions, and the individual thoughts, feelings, and memories that make up the person are a phenomenal conflict within themselves. They lead us to the question- "What will you do to survive?" which everyone can only answer to the best of their ability to do so. Life isn't fair, and rarely presents an opportunity for two souls to be on equal footing in their struggle, but again, our characters find themselves answering a question- "what is it that I have to live for?"
Characters: 10
In this one-shot, we're introduced to Decim, the white haired, steely composed purveyor of the Queen Decim. The Queen Decim, an enigmatic bar (and character within itself), with a grand ballroom and game theatre whose only entrance is a pair of elevators ordained with a pair of ornate theatre masks- representing heaven and hell.
Decim's purpose is to ensure that the entrants to the establishment agree to, and carry out their contract to play a random game of chance, enforce the rules, and execute the results. He's a stony, dispassionate man, and seems to take no joy in the games that he has his contestants undertake.
Our two visitors in this episode are an old man, and a young businessman, each with their own Raison d'être. Neither has a clue as to why they're in the Queen Decim, playing pool for their life, but both have the same goal: win. As their fates unfold, so do their pasts- their memories begin to return to them- and alters the path that their life henceforth is set on.
Art: 9
Excellently colored. Dark, ominous shades permeate the show. A miasma of blacks, purple, reds, and blues set the foreboding tone. Beautifully hand drawn characters are very consistent, and the anguish, the swell of victory, and the crush of defeat are very evident in the body language and facial designs. Moving.
Sound: 9
Soft BGM, appropriately dark and foreboding. Subtly raises the intensity of the visuals. I felt that the moments of absolute silence were the most oppressive: it allowed the character's speaking to have a much more profound effect, as there were no distractions.
Enjoyment: 9
A very intense and emotionally gripping episode. Twists and turns, and while not much makes sense in the beginning, everything is revealed in due time. While a bit dialogue heavy, and metaphorically challenging, it was absolutely enjoyable. It never felt like a chore to decipher the meanings behind, and has a very interesting outcome. The gloomy atmosphere and sense that something isn't quite right that surround the show are entirely addictive. Left me wanting more.
Overall: 9
I've been looking for a new psychological thriller since finishing Ergo Proxy, and I may have found it. Very excited to see where the TV show is headed.

I like that our hero has to literally fight his inner demon for control of his body, or else bad things are going to happen to good people. There's also a decent amount of tentacles, killing, monsters, nudity and action, but also a lot of yabbering about...I actually can't say what they were going on about as I seem to have tuned a lot of it out. I'm sure it was deep and thought provoking, but apparently I'm not that deep or thoughtful of a person...or they were repeating the same thing over and over. Yeah that's it.
So action was good, talking bad. Cool looking
...
monsters.

Rurouni Kenshin was one of the most popular anime series of the past decade; it ran to 95 episodes in three years before declining story quality and subsequent declining ratings finally got it canceled. Media Blasters currently plans to market the series through episode 68, the end of the famous "Kyoto arc," via an ambitious plan that would have them releasing a DVD every month (coinciding with the two VHS tapes released simultaneously every alternate month) through February of 2002. Production problems have delayed the second DVD, but the DVDs look to be worth the wait--if nothing else, for the liner notes, which explain some
...
of Kenshin's complex history and vocabulary and the decisions that went into the translation.
The reason behind the series' popularity is obvious. The characters shine with individuality, both from their strong personalities and from their sharp, simple design. Kenshin's schizoid personal conflict between his ruthless-killer side and his country- bumpkin side almost immediately develops into a plot hook capable of anchoring a variety of interesting stories. The complex historical setting gives those stories a sense of background depth that makes the sudden, dramatic conflicts seem organic and authentic. The animation flows smoothly, with a great deal of attention paid to creative ways to stylize combat and make it interesting each time.
And, of course, the series is just plain fun. Sanosuke, the swaggering mercenary with a horse-sized "sword," is an early indicator of how this series works--with his insouciant attitude, unbelievably huge weapon and impossible endurance, he's more of a video-game icon than a character. But a quick look into his past gives viewers a real sense of his humanity, recasting him as a tragic figure whose goofy peccadilloes have solid reasons behind them. Typical Kenshin--a show that operates on a lot of levels, with a lot more to come. As Kaoru cheerfully says at the end of each episode preview, "Please look forward to it!"

Your Name (2016) review: [9/10]
-
I had an absolute blast watching this flick.
Now obviously, There ARE better anime flicks out there.
All the classics like, Akira, My Neighbor Totoro, and all that.
But, I can't really compare them to this, Considering they all are separated in their own different genres.
Example, Akira being a sci-fi/post apocalyptic kinda flick, and Your Name, A romance drama.
For that, I can pretty much say, Your Name is definitely one of the best animes for it's own particular genre.
The story itself was great.
Some plotholes here and there but who cares 🤷♂️
...
Besides, The movie sorta deals with time related continuities so, Just ignore all that.
But besides the plothole, The story was absolutely fantastic.
The characters were greatly written, We definitely felt what they felt.
The story's perfectly paced, We enter the story by not knowing anything.
Everything was confusing, But then, As the movie progresses, Things started to come together.
The chemistry for the two main characters are great.
That's why it hits harder as we get closer to the ending.
I may not be a big fan of the time related thing but, It definitely fits well to the story.
Setting up this big "oof" feeling.
You know what? I think i'm startin to like the whole time related thingy.
But seriously, The best part bout the whole movie, Is clearly the story 👍🏻
Secondly, The animation.
The animation was great, The colors, The movement, The animation itself of course, Was great.
The best part about the animation's definitely the colors.
The colors changed based on the mood of the scene, That's great.
Sometimes it's bright and charming, and in other scenes, It's sort of softer.
Lastly, The voice acting.
The voice acting was great.
The performance was definitely terrific, We can sorta feel how the scene goes just by the voices.
Again, Story's the best part.
But, That's up for you to decide.
Overall, It's a great movie.
With a mix of a well written story with great characters and great chemistry between all of them, Brilliant animation, and decently great voice acting...
That sums it up for this one.
