Opening Theme:
The anime opening is really exciting with its colorful and well-done animation. However, the introduction of other characters in later episodes was disappointing.
Storyline:
As a light novel reader, the story in the anime series didn't live up to my expectations. The series rushed through the plot and skipped important scenes. For instance, it didn't adequately show the main character analyzing the magic item (the magic pouch) and how it produces food when enough mana is poured into the magic crystal on the pouch. When the goddess gave the pouch to the main character, she explained that mana could be poured into the magic crystal (which
...
would turn lime-green) to produce light in the dark, and the gauge on the magic crystal fills with purple color when mana is injected into it. The explanation about "Status Open" was also incomplete. In the light novel, the goddess explained that the amount of mana displayed on the status screen indicates how much mana heroes can use before expending their base mana within their body, which can wear them out if used excessively. In short, the story felt too rushed, which took away from its original hype and ultimately ruined the story.
Character Design:
It was okay, but Seras Ashrain was quite different from the description in the novel. She turned out to be a typical blonde voluptuous elf. Touka Mimori looks better in the light novel as well.
Character Development:
This part is tolerable, but the studio should put in more effort to avoid ruining the series completely.
Conclusion
Should I watch this series?
The character design is good, but the occasional switch to CGI might be off-putting. If you are the kind of person who doesn't mind artwork or storyline, it's fine. You can kill some time enjoying this series to an extent.
What do you recommend I do?
Reading light novels is recommended if you enjoy reading books. They feature original storylines and provide insight into the main character's thoughts throughout their revenge journey.
