This manga was a great read. It's a typical shoujo, but it has a lot of unique elements to it as well. It's only thirteen chapters, so it's a pretty easy read, and it has a happy ending.
I was tentative to read this at first because I'm not a fan of incest or relationships between family members, and if that's what keeping YOU from reading this, then don't worry. The lovers aren't blood related. The male was adopted into their family.

the male is hot, mysterious, yet falls head over heels for the girl.
The romance does move quite fast in this, so be warned.
Overall, while this manga was cute and lovable, I found that it had something that is lacking in a lot of manga. Passion. Believable passion. Love for the two characters is like breathing, and without each other they simply cannot survive. While that may sound sappy, the manga portrays this desperation very realistically, descriptivly making you feel what they feel.
Ai Hime ~ Ai to Himegoto will leave you breathless. If you are looking for a short, lovable manga to read to pass the time, this is the manga for you.

Let me start off by saying that it's rare that I give an anime -especially one that I watched that was a dub- a 10.
Years ago when it aired on Adult Swim, I had only seen bits and pieces of it. Unfortunately, what I had seen, was the very last episode. I never heard much about Blood+, but I decided I would give the show a chance and watch the entire thing from beginning to end. SO glad that I did.
Story:

you can get. With all the vampire craze going on at the moment, it was nice to see scary, in-humane blood-sucking beasts for a change. No sparkly crap here! With that out of the way, the story is about a high school girl with no memory of the previous year, has to get frequent blood transfusions, and can eat enough to sustain an army. She was adopted into a family with two foster brothers, Kai and Riku. Everything is going great until she notices a man playing the cello on the streets for a crowd. After getting a flash of her memory, encountering a mounstrous beast that tries to kill her, and meeting that mysterious cello player, her entire world changes.
This anime gives you clues and leaves you guessing until the very last episode. Never a dull moment.

Saya's hair pissed me off to no end. I HATE her hair. She is a beautiful girl with a butch cut. Haji had narrow, beady eyes that made him looked stoned throughout the anime. Other than that, the art and animation was flawless. The fight scenes were fantastic and no cencorship on the blood and gore, which was actually refreshing for a change. I mean, this show is about vampires, so there has to be blood and death. Yay for no cencorship!

I tried watching the Japanese version first, but was frequently pissed off by the pronounciation of the American names. After the 10th episode, I reluctantly switched to the dub, and boy was I surprised. Good dubs are hard to find, and Blood+ has one of the best dubs out there. The voice actors matched the characters to a tee, and they even did the accents of the French and Russian characters. The only voice I had a problem with was Riku's. He was supposed to be about 13 and he sounded like a five year old.
Characters:

Saya: Saya is one of the only female leads that can kick butt and stand up for herself. She grows and matures throughout each episode and is willing to die to protect those who she loves. Even though she has to shoulder the burden of purifying the world of the Chiropterans, she remains strong.
Haji: Haji was a great main character, even though he rarely showed any form of emotion. He is devoted to Saya and has promised to follow her until the end. Not much to say about him, aside from that. He's cool, but that's about it.
Kai: Kai is one of my favorite characters in the show. He had the most character development and was actually useful from time to time. Loved him to death.
Enjoyment:
Action, history, vampires, fighting, blood, romance, angst, comedy. What more could you ask for in an anime? This show ROCKED and I'm proud to have it listed under my favorites.

I usually wait until I'm finished with a series before I review, buuuut I can't wait any longer.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Dengeki Daisy is competing for the number one favorite manga spot in my head against Fruits Basket. Quite a few months ago, I picked up this series and honestly could not stop reading it once I started.

died through a cell phone. Kuirosaki is a typical pervert Tsundere and Teru is a typical flat-chested Shoujo girl, even though her attitude is very likeable as well as relatable. I guess she can be considered a type of Tsundere as well, depending on how you look at it.
The art was very masculine (I believed it was because it was written and drawn by a male, but then I realized it was a female so...) but I found that the Motomi captures her characters quite beautifully as well as comically when the time calls for it. Kurosaki -the blonde, perverted lolicon janitor that's actually not so perverted after all- is really the DAISY that Teru contacts with, although she doesn't know this at first. He's handsome. I find him attractive. Although, I can't really recall Teru ever stating what she thinks about his looks, even when her friends constantly do.
The duo's bickering is downright hilarious (Go bald, Kurosaki!!!) even if it tends to be rather predictable and somewhat repetetive at times.
Dengeki Daisy never fails to keep you interested and continually coming back for more. The plot keeps developing and reeling you in with each chapter, but not so much that you can't keep up and end up getting confused. The characters are consistant, and I heard a rumor that this series is going to be coming to a close soon, which is too sad to think about!!
One of the best Shoujo series ever. Read it. And root for an anime with me :3

I found out about this little series earlier this morning after browsing through someone's profile. Since they stated that it made them cry, I decided to check it out. I ended up reading the whole series in one sitting, which is very hard for me to do, since I often get bored and move on to other things. The story to me didn't seem like a very original one ... it reminded me of Deadman Wonderland + Elfen Lied + Tokyo Gore Police + V for Vendetta. adred Aiko's character though. She seemed like a typical sixteen year old girl working hard to please everyone she loves, and is utterly devestated when she arrives home to find her parents murdered. In fact, it's implied that she was murdered as well, but she came back to life with a weird genetically mutated left arm. She handled it like I would have handled it, which gave her character a very realistic feel. But I absolutely LOVED Soudo. For once, I think he was the first male lead that wasn't drowing in angst or refusing to show any emotion. I don't know how old he was (my best guess is twenty four), but he was a police detective, and actually cared about the people he was protecting! He has a sort of soft disposition toward Aiko because she reminds him of another girl that he tried to save that was also expeiramented on. All in all, he was awesome. I liked how it made the plot into more than what it led on near the end. Needless to say, I came very close to shedding a few tears, which is not normal for me. It takes a lot to get me to cry over a fiction series (Fruits Basket doesn't count!! lol)
If you love blood and female angst, this is the series for you. It does tend to get a bit graphic, so if you get sick easily I wouldn't suggest reading it. But it's great for an afternoon read.

I often visit Anime44 and browse through the recent releases. I spotted Psychic Detective and the cover art struck me. I read the synopsis and I had to admit that I thought it sounded a bit plain, but something was telling me to watch it. After a few weeks of procrastinating and reading comments from the watchers, I half-heartedly started the first episode. Needless to say, I only got as far as the opening that day (was very busy). But the opening was very unique. Still, I wasn't convinced.
Finally, I pushed myself and watched the first episode. My first thought about the main characters

was that Haruka reminded me of the chick from Eureka 7 and the guy was the typical shoujo guy. A lot of the characters had the same names as the characters from Hakuouki, which was interesting.
After I finished the first episode, I found myself watching the second, and the third, and so on. Now I honestly think I'm hooked.
Needless to say, the story isn't the most amazing thing I've ever seen. It doesn't have one focus plotline throughout the series, merely just a problem that they solve within the episode etc.
There are some parts that I favored in the series. The part when Haruka is thrown into the river to drown and Yakumo doesn't hesitate to go after her. The part when Haruka stops Yakumo from throwing his mother's necklace into the river, and the scene where she finds him tied to the chair after being kidnapped by his father's accomplice and confesses to him, thinking he is dead. Those scene's seemed to hold the most emotion and character development for me. Even so, my inner masochist wanted them to torture Haruka in front of Yakumo to see his reaction because you can almost never tell what he is feeling, especially toward her.
Overall, I give this anime an 8. :)

This is the first manga I have ever read that made me literally roll on the floor laughing, or shake my computer screen with tears of rage/sorrow in my eyes. Fruits Basket is like a rollercoaster that you can't get off of. Having first watched the anime, I didn't have high expectations for the manga, since the story left quite a few plotholes. incredible that I could NOT stop reading. At a first glance, once you get to about volume 7 or so, you start to think that this manga has absolutly nothing sad and it's just a fun, sunny, happy ending story where nothing bad ever happens. Boy, was I WRONG. Most of these characters' pasts are so devestating and heart breaking that I cried for hours. And I usually don't cry. Period. Near the end, the story got so involved, and so dramatic that I thought my eyes would fall out or my brain would explode or both. ANd with Fruits Basket, the art was so simple and kind of just a step up from stick figures; nowhere near the beauty of Vampire Knight's art. But that's not the point. The simple art becomes appreciated and then you start to realize how much a simple art is needed to tell such a diverse story. If it had beautiful art, such as Vampire Knight, then your brain probably really would explode and you would find yourself thinking that it was too good to be true.
I think I had whiplash from this series. Soo many times was I slapped in the face with a plot twist that I didn't see coming in a million years. This was beautiful. To this day, my favorite manga series of them all.

First off, this movie was the first anime type thing I have ever been introduced to. I remember my grandmother going to the library and picking out this movie to bring home to me. Being the little outgoing, observant four year old that I was, I was instantly drawn into the movie. In the eyes of a four year old, the story was like being introduced into a whole new world. enjoy most, is that all the characters are three dimensional, not just Chihiro and Haku. ANd the art was just incredible. When you are watching it on screen, you really feel drawn into it literally. You can smell the smells, taste the tastes, hear the sounds, etc. It is a cinematic masterpiece. Even now, after watching other Miyazaki (sp?) films, I can sense his trend with his amazing movies, but Spirited Away stands out far from the rest. I give it a ten out of ten. This is STILL my favorite movie to date.

Kaichou wa Maid Sama. When I first heard about it, my first impression was, "Oh wow, another maid anime." And then one of my close friends told me more about it, and I decided to give it a shot, not expecting much. So, I watched the first episode and actually found myself moving to the second, and the third, and so on. I just had to keep watching. Even after watching the final episode, I still can't put my finger on what was so special about it. Now, I am absolutely rooting for a second season. Even though I have read the manga -still am- I want to hear more of Misaki and Usui's bikering, Misaki being embarressed by Usui, and the like. I really enjoyed this show.
