First of all, I'd say that the first episode does this show a great disservice because of how generic a first impression it gives the show.
Initially when I went to watch this, I skimmed through the first episode and saw no real interest in it. However, after seeing a comment suggesting to skip the first episode and start on episode 2, I gave that a try, and found that, for me, it was a much better starting point.
If you find you don't like the first episode, give it the second episode to see if your opinion changes - because it's damn well worth it.
Taking any
...
particular aspect individually, the only the aspect the show breaks through is the primary concept (using healing magic the 'wrong way'), but the way it all wraps up together makes for a fantastic show that's fun to watch.
There's nothing that's done poorly, even despite my issues with the first episode; it's just a matter of having patience.
I very much recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the first season of My Hero Academia, for example.

I'll be honest, when I first started watching this show, I wasn't won over by it at all. Tama, the cute little fox girl, is cute as heck, and her personality was a nice surprise, but for the first few episodes it seemed to be a very 'meh' show, initially having me rate it as a mere 6.
I've just finished episode 8, and without spoilers or even saying which episode earned the rating increase, I'll say that the ranking jumped from 6 to 8 in one go.
If you've got the time and patience to spare (and enjoy shounen), I highly recommend watching this show. It's
...
a story that requires the foundation to be put in place first before baring its fangs for real. Again, I went into this thinking it seemed pretty boring and generic, but gave it a chance. Now I'm exceptionally glad I had.
If I had to compare it to any other show I've watched, I'd absolutely compare it to Katanagatari. Make of that what you will.
Second edit: I had originally set my review rating to 8, and then dropped it to 7 after the episode count dropped from 37 to 13, but now the series has been confirmed for three parts, I'm happy to return it to an 8.
To explain; This first season starts off quite slow, and I believe this is the reason why it has such a low rating overall, but it makes sense in the grand scheme of things. It's evident that this show isn't meant to be treated like each season will be its own set of stories, but rather, each season is a bite sized portion of the story as a whole and is only broken up to give the team time to do it justice.
I'm loving season one, and I expect great things from the seasons to come.
This is but a step upon a greater journey.

This... this is a masterpiece. An absolute masterpiece.
When I first got into anime, I remember saying to a friend "I'll watch anime, but I'm not interested in just watching cute girls do cute things. I don't see the appeal."
...This is cute girls doing cute things, and I'm absolutely besottled with it.
I went into a couple of episodes thinking "I know I love this, but -why- do I love it?" - by the end of the episode, I would then say "THIS is why I love this show so much."
The story itself is good, but not it's selling point - not like Monogatari for example's sake.
...
It's a wholesome school focused story (but not exclusive to school).
The art is incredible. The scenery is just absolutely outstanding, and while I wouldn't say it's the focus quite like Made In Abyss, it's still breathtaking to see some of the sights.
The sound... the sound has unbelievable attention to detail. The sound of shoes squeaking on wooden floors, the pitter patter of feet, the voice actresses, everything...
The characters are what this show is about though. Just...
There wasn't a single episode I didn't love, not a single character I thought was out of place, not a single moment which I took issue with. Yes, Akebi is portrayed as being flawless at first glance, but when you look deeper - or give any given episode a moment to breathe, you see that she's not perfect, she's just exceptionally driven to always be her very best.
While this next point might seem very personal and unimportant, let me just say: This show was legitimately what picked me off the floor when I was feeling down and that my own efforts to learn Japanese were all for nothing. I was going through an incredibly hard time recently, and felt like giving up. I felt like no matter what, it was pointless. Then there was one episode in particular that spoke to me directly, as if it knew I needed to hear it, and it said to me: "No matter how hard it seems, no matter how hard things get, no matter how far your goal might be, keep trying, because the ones you look up to only got there by struggling through these very same fears and hardship. Don't give up, you've got this."
Even though I've only rated the story itself a 7, every other aspect is a 10 from me, and I'm not upset about the story whatsoever. There is no such thing as perfection, but with everything that this show set out to achieve, it knocked the ball out of the park.
Thank you to everyone involved in making such a wonderful piece of art.

This will be a simple review. It's a 6 from me, across the board. Everything about it is fine, but nothing is outstanding. The art is cute in the chibi moments and fine otherwise. The sound is fine, I have no issue with the voice actors or their work. The characters have some personality to them, but none really gripped me or had me saying "I absolutely love [name]!"
The story is a slow life fantasy, and while it doesn't really go anywhere, it also doesn't just sit in the one place either - not that I have an issue with shows focused around one single
...
location, since that merely encourages deeper dialogue and depth to that small part.
Sadly, it's a nice show, but that's all it is. Nice, but nothing more.
Is it worth watching? If you want something relaxed and family friendly, sure, but that's it.
Edit: Oh, one last comment: The OP? Ew. ED? Sweet and relaxed. OP is a 2/10, ED is a 8/10.

Honestly the worst anime I have ever seen. I have watched all of the FL:CL series and enjoyed those, but this? This was something nobody wanted.
Where FL:CL did the whackiness in a humourous way, Index III has the same lack of coherent plot and random contextless scenes and characters who play no role other than to be eyecandy for 5-15 minutes total screentime before moving onto the next.
I only finished this trainwreck of a season because stockholm syndrome had taken hold of me.
Going from a show I once absolutely adored to eventually getting to this point...
I wish that the creators had never made the movie,
...
and had especially not made this.
The season has none of the charm of the original, and completely ruins it. I cannot express just how horrible a job was done here.

So, when I began watching this show, I thought it was going to just be cringy rubbish - and for the first two episodes, it was. Then the show did what it does, and slowly, it changed. I went from thinking it'd be a 5 at best, ending up all the way as an 8 in my mind.
The show handles the harem aspect in a different way to usual, and while the characters initially seem cold and odd, they quickly grow on you (or they did with me) and this just gives them a sense of charm.
The OP & ED are both enjoyable; not 10/10
...
masterpieces, but definitely very easy listening and upbeat.
Overall, I really liked this, and while it is true that I'm a trash panda, I approve of this anime.

For clarity, at the time of writing this review, only four episodes have been released, and I have seen them all.
So, this show...
Do you want ecchi/softcore p? 10/10.
Do you want a story, with deep, well developed characters? 2/10
Do you want fantastic art and/or sound? I'll give it a 5.
Despite all how that sounds, I'm giving the show a 5/10 so far. The art style is fine but standard. The story is shallow but the show doesn't try to pretend it's about any deep story. This show is well and truly all about fan service. Butts, boobs, and pantsu. That's all there truly is to it.
...
If that's what you're in the mood for, you'll find it here, and you'll love it.
Me? I'm a trash panda, I eat trash like this because.. well, I just do. 5/10, and given the shows current direction, I have absolutely no reason to believe my rating will change. Not amazing in any way, but taking into account that it makes no false pretence over what it is, not bad either; it just is what it is.

So, this is an anime which I found through a YouTube clip promoting it. The premise? Renting a girlfriend. I mean, it's in the name of course! And I'm the kind of guy that loves trash like this to have some light hearted fun and keep me occupied.
The art style is good. It isn't spectacular, but the character designs are nice. The girls are pretty, the scenery is pretty standard but not in a bad way, and even the main character isn't over the top in any way like many are. Soundtrack wise? Nothing bad, nothing overwhelming.
There is one thing though. The cringe. I went
...
into this anime expecting for there to be some level of cringe, and I can handle some amount of cringe and laugh at it plenty well enough; I mean, hell, that's why I love trash so much, I can ignore cringe (or even enjoy it) - but this... the beginning of the anime is heavy on the cringe, the middle mellows out, and then towards the end of the anime the cringe was so thick at times that I genuinely felt like I was choking on it, physically choking.
Despite having to pause and take breaks from it, I managed to work my way through those moments and get to the end - and you know what? I enjoyed it.
My rating of the show went from 7 to 6 and then back to 7 by the end of it all, and I stand by that choice, but do be aware that this is an anime that doesn't care for the weak of heart.
If you, like myself, still remember the days of being a teenager and being complete cringe, you'll either enjoy or hate this as it reminds you of yourself, but hey, perhaps it'll be a way of seeing how far you've come?
I'd recommend watching it if you can manage it, but I absolutely understand anyone who can't cope. Enjoyable, but comes at a cost.
