People don't watch it because of the many negative reviews, and many stop watching it because they expect it to be just another ordinary anime about a man turning into a skeleton or monster, etc.
But this show doesn’t stop there. While much anime about a man turning into a monster focus on them never being able to return to human form, this anime tells the story of a man trying to reclaim his humanity.
We don’t see a stupidly overpowered protagonist becoming a god within 1-2 episodes. This show has real progress to tell, showing the struggle from zero to hero (and even by the finale,
...
the main character is still not strong enough, which leaves room for a much-needed season 2).
When you watch this, you're watching a slice-of-life isekai story. The progression might feel slow because it carefully portrays the main character’s daily habits and routines in his new life.
Slice of Life Rating: 8/10. It captures the slice-of-life vibe well, though there are 1-2 minutes in some episodes that feel like wasted screen time with unnecessary scenes.
Comedy Rating: 6/10. The jokes are thoughtful, and you may need to think about what’s going on to get them. This show doesn’t generate much dopamine, so high-energy viewers might not find it entertaining enough.
Pros:
- No overpowered characters; everything feels balanced.
- A slice-of-life adventure with a steady, meaningful story progression.
- Focuses on career and relationship development.
- No poorly cut animation; the quality is consistent and good enough.
Cons:
- Many comedic moments fall flat and fail to deliver laughs.
- The BGM is decent but lacks variation.
- Some slice-of-life scenes feel unnecessary, leaving you questioning why they were included.
Extra Note: Honestly, I’d like to give this show an 8.5, but because I see a lot of negative reviews from people who stopped watching before completing it, I’m giving it a full 10/10 to "support" the show.

What happened to this season?
The story is far from unique—it’s slow, predictable, and lacks the spark of creativity. While some might enjoy the slice-of-life approach, this season doesn’t do it justice. The dialogues are unnecessarily long, the humor leans too political to be universally funny, and any sense of adventure is completely absent.
The art style is a highlight—it’s visually appealing and well-crafted—but it feels wasted on such a sluggish and uninspired storyline. As for the characters, they’re one-dimensional at best. There’s little depth or growth; they don’t feel like real people, and their reactions to situations often come across as forced or unrealistic.
Ultimately, I can't
...
recommend this season to fans of adventure or comedy. Those who enjoy slow-paced slice-of-life stories might find something here, but for me, it was a letdown. I was able to condense each episode into 10-12 minutes without feeling like I missed anything important—a testament to how much filler and unnecessary content this season includes.

I thought i already watched all of this anime episode, I didnt even realize that the eps 11 that i watched was not the end of this season. Then, eps 12 ends really bad and force us to watch the 2nd season. Many people will think that this anime better end with season 1 11 eps rather than S1 + eps 12 with S2. Anyone agree? feel free to spread your emotion with emoji/react.
Graphic: 8/10
It has high quality of art style, design. But animation is just bad.
Animation: 5/10
Low quality of animation, at some fight scene it just looks bad, drawless and feels like animated using
...
X-Y transition with adobe.
Music: 7/10
BGM is good, opening and closing is quite good. The way studio put the opening and closing at some episodes it looks bad, better that just put it on the first second of the video rather than bad transition.
Story: 8/10 Without eps 12
All good, romance and character progression is good but this anime rush the story too fast some point.
Story: 4/10 Without eps 12
Not good, I think the anime is milked so bad. im thinking that "Are you trying to open pandora box and make this anime endless just like fate series?"
Voice action: 10/10
I don't have any issue with voice acting.
Conclusion:
I want to rate it 8 (floored from 7+) but because I saw eps 12, I'll just go with 5. I'm sorry for that.

Actually, I don't watch idols-themed anime, and this is my first Idol-themed anime with accidentally I started watching it because I thought it will be detective-themed with minor idol story. But the truth is Idol-themed with some detective story.
With all bad and good reviews from other people, there is something missing from the reviews. This Anime has very good budget, planning and marketing. How good this anime is planned? Check this short review below...
I don't read manga, but sometimes I checked the anime-manga adaptation progression and reading minor spoilers.
Oshi no Ko Season 1 ends very well. It ends with people wondering "When Aqua-Rubi know each
...
other backstory?".
The last season of Oshi no ko Season 1 and the latest version of manga has same release date (diff +-1 day). And that biggest question is answered on that manga chapter. Yeah, it's me, I frequently jump to latest version of manga only to know something without spoiling the information to myself XD. And this "planned co-incidence" is very good.
Graphic: 9/10
It has high quality of art style, design, etc. But unimportant, boring, useless small talk, and some minor scenes have low quality of animation.
Music: 6/10
BGM is good, opening and closing is quite good, the song sung by characters/idol not good.
Story: 6/10
Some story can make you broke or sad. Not 100% happy ending. Don't watch if you don't want to be sad at all. Some comedy does not make you laugh.
Themes 7/10:
As I mentioned above, major theme of this is anime is idols-themed anime. If you don't like this theme, you will not like it. The mix theme between detective and idol is unique and worth to watch. But I expected the anime has more story about MC revealing the bad guy, but the progression is very slow, and I think it will consume 2 seasons + 1 movie or 3 seasons.
Characters: 8/10
I have no issues with the characters; each one is unique and has their own personality. However, the MC's prologue is somewhat boring and cliché. But careful, some people hating Ai for some reason, the way of introducing Ai is very mixed feelings, sometimes it makes like her or hate her.
Voice Acting: 10/10
Good, the animation and voice acting are matched perfectly well.
Conclusion:
I want to rate it 7 (floored number) but because it has a good "planned co-incidence" it deserves 8 (rounded number).
