Ao no Hako was a one shot that I tried to avoid reading since a year ago because I knew if it was too good, the story would probably not continue and I would feel bad. When the manga released, I decided to read this. And thank god I waited because I would have felt horrible.
The one shot is as simple as it had to be: Short romantic plot, at first as typical as anyone else, which starts being developed in the sports world. Lots of beautiful scenes, nice characters, a misunderstanding, its explanation and finally, the conclusion. AND WHAT A CONCLUSION. The story could
...
have stopped there for good and it would have been still amazing. They proved you don´t have to build a complicated plot in order to make a beautiful story. And now I´m completely fired up to read the manga.
Ao no Hako the one-shot was everything a short one-shot has to be. Fast-paced, structured, emotional and cute. Wonderful. The Pulga Rodriguez of one shots.
Story: 8/10
Art: 9/10 (it looks amazing)
Character: 9/10
Enjoyment: 10/10 (few mangas made me read quick as lightning)
Overall: 9/10
Should I read it? YES, and also the manga

So I started my holidays from college on late December. I had so many things to do so I decided to... read a literally two-line title apparently generic light novel. I would have ruined my holidays, except it was actually good.
Ryoushin no Shakkin wo etc etc etc is a story based on a simple and at the same time unrealistic plot: guy lives alone because his parents abandoned him so he is forced (yes, forced) to live with the hottest and wealthiest girl in the entire country, which goes to his school. We see the former debt lender and Kaede´s mom (both never seen again)
...
and Yuya goes with Kaede to her brand new penthouse. Basic, generic, and dumb.
Now, if you managed to get through the first three chapters, the novel is actually not bad. Kaede is the typical heavy-loving girl but still respects Yuya´s opinion and doesn´t force him to do anything (anymore). Yuya is a typical guy who wants to live a normal life and to get along with his new partner. And both Shinji and Akiho make a good supporting couple for them with lots of great moments. The story had a really plausible development, and each chapter it goes by, it just gets even better.
Story → 7/10
Art → 7.5/10
Character → 7.5/10
Enjoyment → 8/10
Overall: 7.5/10 → 7/10
Should I read it? → Yes, don´t be afraid of that forty-mile long title

The sea has always delivered us many beautiful stories, so when I discovered another water-related anime was in production, I couldn´t resist. Another original anime, hopping into the trend of gorgeously animated series with great story that studios have been lately try to make up with huge results. And let me tell you giving this one a try was, in two words, worth it.
Shiroi Suna no Aquatope is a great series that tells the story of Kukuru, the main character and a character I personally like a lot, who is trying to save her family´s aquarium from shutting down and be demolished. In the way
...
she meets Fuuka, another great girl who is escaping fame and trying to leave peacefully for a while. Fuuka starts working at the aquarium as a trial, and as they meet many new and local people and unveil secrets, the girls start building a special relationship and growing up, surrounded by mysterious underwater visions that magical aquarium has.
Fortunately, the good points of this anime are many.
The main core of an anime is its story. Aquatope is a series that makes you embrace a constant rollercoaster (ironic). You sympathize with the charming characters, feel what happens to them and want them to succeed at all time. Whether it be Kukuru, Fuuka, Kai, Teruya, Kuuya, Umi or any of their friends, you will never feel an empty character. Their relatonships are very great and diverse, and no character is left out of them. And with those relationships you will experiment a great story marked by the constant message of not giving up, helping each other, teaming up and fighting for what or who you want or like. For me it´s not another anime that will just go by like nothing, but another anime that marks their viewers with the experience and inspires them to chase their dreams.
The first thing that catches your eye are the incredibly stunning visuals it has. Clear blue skies, deep blue waters and light charming sand combine with the entire pallet to bring the series a colorful and both vibrating and darkening style. This beautiful display combines with great character design and detailed animal and wildlife modeling, making this series one of the most catching of 2021.
Another incredibly stunning point are the sound display. One of the things that made me start watching it is its beautiful first opening. Arcana Project brought up a nice, emotive and at the same time enthusiastic song that prepares you for the adventure. As well, the second opening also does it by changing the tempo to a constantly high one. And when the songs combine with the stunning visuals, you get two great OPs. The rest of the soundtrack during the episodes are also fine and fairly good implemented.
There are, of course, some other things that drag this anime down. Many of the things surrounding this world, like the illusions, their goal or even that spirit that appears since episode 1 (anime version enano bostero) does not seem to have a lot or any explanation at all. Lots of things seemed to be rushed up even though they had 24 episodes to develop those things. The series was nice and very charming, but without those, it leaves a bitter sensation at the end. Apart, despite I said the OPs were amazing, the EDs are exactly the opposite. Lame pacing, unintelligible lyrics and lack of nice animation make the endings something skippable and, the first one, one of the worst I have ever heard.
The Aquatope on White Sand is a nice and amazing adventure you won´t regret seeing. The magic of its characters will amaze you, and its story makes inspiration flow. Original anime are growing day after day, and their quality is getting better and better. And this one definitively proves the point.

It was July 2020, I was just starting watching anime and exploring MAL and found a movie that looked very promising. It looked similar to Your Name, which I loved, so I wanted to give it a try. I waited patiently until the release, in November. The day thay movie aired... nothing happened. Not the day after, not in a week, not for a long time. "It was badly received" "It was only showed two times on cinemas" "Rakuten only sells it raw and within Japan" was what I could see from different pages and the official website. I was losing all hope until some
...
days ago I happened to look for it again. And to my great surprise, it was there, it was not fake. So I decided to watch it at night yesterday, which I did. Was it worth to look for it so much? Let's find out.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
Story: 6.5/10 - The story centers arround Mio and Arata, the typical childhood confession and an accident that transported her to a parallel world. So far so good. What happens then is a very rare mix of everything possible. A colourful world with spirits reincarnated on things she remembered, her worst fears personified in giant monsters that chased her for the entire world and a lot, really lot of metaphoric uses. All of this which would have been perfect if there weren't so many plot holes and, mainly, non-explained things. Especially at the end. But hey, we won, right? Dale campeón.
Art: 8.5/10 - As most movies that inspired in beautiful works like Your Name and A Silent Voice, Kimi wa Kanata has amazing landscape design. Each of the scenarios were beautifully drawn, and you could feel they were very inmersive. Also the character design were very charming and easy to like. Animation was fine, being great at little things like Mio's moving hair and fair at moments like her flight over the fish. An overall great thing that with a little more budget could have been even more amazing.
Sound: 8.5/10 - Soundtrack was also something very special. All the orchesta was very nice and according to the movie. And both songs, To You (Mio's song) and Shunkan Dramatic (Ending) were incredible. I'm even listening to Shunkan Dramatic in loop as I write this. This is the part that creates great memories, and they achieved it by a lot.
Character: 7/10 - Not very amazing but still nice. Mio and Arata were the typical two main characters that everyone like, and then we had the different supporting characters and the main 'antagonist' (was it one though?). They made the movie enjoyable without shining too much. Fair enough.
Enjoyment: 8/10 - Being extremely strange and without sense for some times doesn´t make it less enjoyable. Even more, it makes it even better sometimes as I already knew this could be like that and wanted to feel something like this. I´m glad to find another 'falopity' show, those anime so strange that make you wonder about everything in their world.
Overall: 7.5/10 - I don't really know how much to score this. I feel a 6 is definitively low, a 7 misses something but an 8 is too much for a movie that was so inconsistent for moments. Maybe I will give it an 8 in support for the movie, as 6.55 rating is not fair at all. But the real score for me is 7.50.

July 18th, 2018. Motivated by a “plagiated scene” in another Kyoto Show, a man (if we can actually call it like that) decided to ruin many people´s life by attacking their main studio. The studio burned out and 36 lives were tragically lost. The huge damage gave Kyoto Animation, the joyful and colorful that wondered their viewers, a very hard time. But the studio didn´t fall apart. It stood back again and decided to keep active, with many of the original workers still there. The bravest act they could do.
Kobayashi-San Season 2 was their first proyect after the tragedy. The most logical thing is that
...
it wouldn´t be the same, the art style would be difficult to recreate with new animators, the characters and story would feel different because of the different people in charge, and many other things… luckily they were all wrong. I´ve started watching the entire series a month ago, and can confirm there are absolutely no changes. The sound was amazing, the characters felt as unique as before, the story was again entertaining and the art style and animation, probably one of Kyoto´s main attractive, got even better. And most importantly, the vibes are still the same and the series is very enjoyable for everyone.
In conclusion, Kobayashi-san Season 2 is a very great anime, and I´m glad it could finally be done for us to enjoy. But personally, I think the message Kyoto gave to us is even more important and wonderful. Do never give up. Stand up and do what you do the best to make everyone smile again. And I hope they keep doing it for a lot more time.
Thank you Kyoto.

Military advancements:
Weapons, armor, vehicles, strategies ❌
PASTA ✔️
So Youjo Senki not only did announce season 2, they also gave us a pre-movie OVA. Well played. Objectively, it´s a very light episode with basic story and some poor drawings, which is normal considering they are working on S2. No OP or ED, same OST and limited character expressions also were there. But it was still enjoyable. Like the first dish that comes before the pasta (sorry I had to do it, don´t kill me)

Synthesis in two words: MANGA DISRESPECT.
Story: 8. Mangaka did an absolutely stunning job on that story. It´s entertaining, catching and innovative. If you like shounen battles combined with ancient history, myths and legends, this is for you. Of course by this I don´t refer to the adaptation.
Art: 1. Just speechless. Warner made the impossible to turn one of the best drawed manga to a simple powerpoint presentation. Astonishingly horrible.
Sound: 2. The perfect opportunity to insert epic OST and rocking OP and ED, was just took to make a mediocre soundtrack, a dull ending and an AC/DC wannabe opening that will pierce through your ears
...
like a drill. In a bad way.
Character: 8. All characters are well introduced, have various personalities, strenghts and weaknesses. Of course, another point not to give to the adaptation.
Enjoyment: 2. This actually transmitted nothing to me. I could be watching Huracán with Damonte as manager - Gimnasia with Messera as manager at 8PM a Monday with 0 shots on target and it would be far more interesting.
Overall: 3. Do me a favour and read that glorious manga. And STAY AWAY FROM HERE.

Sora Yori is just one of those animes you can´t forget. It does not just give you a good time and an enjoyable experiences. It can change you. Show you what life is about. And how you can change other people.
The story is just magnific. Four girls in different situations and with different trouble decide to go abroad on a very special adventure that would change their lives drastically. Every situation they went through was really unique and none of them felt unnecesary. Every special moment they went through was inmersive and extremely empathysing, making you felt like their problems were your own. From the
...
beggining to the end, you felt like them.
Art was amazing. Madhouse made an incredible job illustrating and animating this series to make it look visually stunning, sometimes almost KyoAni-level visuals. Sound was also unbelievably amazing. Koko Kara became quickly my favourite ending of all time (and since I´ve have wanted to watch Sora Yori), and insert songs like One Step were also amazing.
Characters were of course amazing. The magic of this show is that all of them are likeable and you can´t hate anyone (not even Megumi). And about the four of them... there is no best girl. Because they are all best girls. It´s impossible to choose the best out of them. All of them felt alive and interesting.
[SPOILERS]
Undoubtely, the most beautiful things on this series were those special moments. Every episode ending was very special and felt really nice. From Mari and Shirase going to see the ice-breaker to the girls going out on the storm (what a scene), them going on Antartic trips, watching the aurora at the end and, of course, that EP12 final scene that simply kills you.
And a very special one? When everyone returns to their normal lives and Mari sends Megumi a message, just for her to reply she is in the Artic. Far from being a bad moment, this showed us how Mari inspired her to do something with her life, and she did, not only realizing she was stupid when attacking her, but also giving Mari her apologies for everything she has done, and wanting to be friends again. Very underrated moment.
[END OF SPOILERS]
The only thing I can conclude is that is anime is magical. 200% recommended to anyone

Senryuu Shoujo is the literal definition of "do much while having less". Having read the first chapters of the manga, I dropped it at chapter 4 because I didn´t actually like 4-koma style. I felt like moments were disconnected and that dragged the manga back. Luckily I found these adaptation and decided to give it a try. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed.
We get a really nice story between Nanako, one of the purest and nicest waifus ever to exist, and Eiji, a great supporting dude with a nice heart. The events happening are great, really felt inmersive and well-redacted, on the
...
other hand of the manga version. We see a nice development of the relationship while meeting great characters, without anything really special, but being very enjoyable.
Art style and drawings were nice, even upgrading the original ones and making them more beautiful. And sound was awesome. OST was nice, as well as the OP, and the ED was simply amazing. I will really remember this ending for a very long time.
Characters were diverse, and even Nanako and Eiji were amazing, and Akane was a nice addition, I felt it could have been better. Still were very great for a 10 minute episode show.
To sum up, Senryuu Shoujo is one of the hidden anime out there that can bring out many smiles on you. You wil love this show, especially if you enjoyed characters like Shouko from Koe no Katachi. Great show, sadly with no probable season two, but with a long manga to go.

Warning: This review contains spoilers of different stages of the series. Please read the marks in each paragraph so you don´t get spoiled.
------------------------------
EPISODE 1 SPOILERS (basically the series´ description)
Angel Beats is about a group of people, which are all dead because of fate´s injustices. We follow the story of Otonashi, the main character, who suddenly is transported to a parallel world where he meets other people who suffered his same fortune. He couldn´t remember anything, but the rest of them could. Now he had a mission: to remember who he is and why is he in this strange world.
------------------------------
WHOLE SERIES SPOILERS (if you haven´t seen
...
it skip to FINAL SCORE)
Angel Beats is a series that tries to show us that life isn´t that bad. Even bad things can and will happen, of course, we still have to stand up again and watch the bright side of life. Every character on the series, with their own charismas and personalities will make us spectators of their heartbreaking stories, but always ending up with a beautiful message.
Even though we can encounter some argumental voids or mistakes, this doesn´t affect very much what the series wants to show you. For example, the fact that "all of them went there after dying" but still Otonashi arrived there after Kanade (which makes no sense).
"I only have one chance to have my life, and it's right here. This is the only one I have. This is my life, I can't give it to anyone else. It cannot be stolen. It cannot be forced by anyone, nor forgotten, nor made to disappear, nor trampled on, nor laughed at, nor made up of" - Yuri Nakamura.
