I really don’t know why the score is so low because I thought this was a pretty good movie and a very faithful adaptation. My only guess is that the few people that have watched it didn’t originally play the game and had no idea what was going on.
Story
Surprisingly it wasn’t an adaptation of the game’s story but more a side quest during said story. It made sense in the context of X day and wrapped its story accordingly. I was genuinely surprised of how it turned out since most of the visual novel adaptations that I’ve watched often want to do as many routes
...
as possible in 12 episodes which is impossible. So, what about this new story and X day case, was it good ? I would say yes, it was very much on par with what you could expect from the game, dare I say it was better than the events in unlimited (mostly Shiraishi’s route). The climax was great, everyone giving their all to catch the culprit and was very collar x malice like. In fact a lot of scenes had that collar x malice feel.
Art
Not gonna sugar coat it, the animation wasn’t the greatest. The chara designs translated well into an animated form, which is amazing considering the level of detail of the style of hanamura sensei. But yeah animation mostly stiff and lazy, they had moments where they put in some effort but overall it is the weakest point of the movie.
Sound
The fact that they took another visual kei group to make the opening and endings, akin to plastic tree for the games, was awesome and definitely fits the vibe. Sound design was great too and the osts were great too. Fitted the vibe too. Now as for the voice action, Ichika’s va did great, her voice was Ichika even if she is undubbed in the games, it just felt natural. They brought Konishi into the mix and he was great, as were the other guys.
Characters
This new character was very interesting, keeping the theme of justice of the whole game. Everyone was also handled with care. They didn’t act out of character, unlike some vn adaptations. They all had their moment to shine. Just a nitpick, Sasazuka didn’t get as much screentime as the others but that’s just me. The relationship between Ichika and Yanagi was as sweet as ever and I’m glad he was the main love interest for the movie
Enjoyment
Obviously, as my review reeks of subjectivity, I enjoyed the movie. Maybe the search for it for more than a year was also to blame for how hyped I was when I finally found it.
Overall
This is a product made for the fans, for the ones that have played all the routes of the first game. I cannot stress enough that if you’re new to the series don’t watch it. It literally spoils who the lead of the terrrorists is, the one that is revealed in the last secret route, at the last chapter.

Honestly I'm so mixed on this movie, the art is gorgeous, music very good but story ? Characters ? What are those ?!
Story :
Not gonna explain it, just talking about how confusing it was. It's creative but when it becomes an unexplicable mess with characters jumping in and out of the story, things happanings with no reasons that's where I draw the line. How did Suzume entered the door the firt time and managed to get out ? No clear explaination. Why did the 2nd cat-stone was destroyed ? No explaination. Why did it possessed the aunt ? Same thing, no explainations apart from the
...
fact they needed a cliche "ur not my real mom/daughter and I hate you" moment, with no foreshadowing. The movie ends up being predictable in its narrative (not the creative parts)
It's original but it's not an excuse, you can be original and write a well-constructed story
Art :
Just sayin', it's the best part of the mivie. Gorgeous CGI shots of nature mixed with beatifully drawn art, smooth animation, attractive character designs. It's a movie that makes the art part of me shiver. It's a very good reason to like the movie in my opinions
Sound :
The music tracks were good, not very memorable but nice enough to get you into the movie and never letting you go. Acting was nice too I guess ? I really hate the souless, monotone type of voice so chair-man wasn't very good in my eyes for almost half of the movie. Suzume VA's was good tho, it made her feel relatable
Characters :
My favourite part to talk about, characters and they are all bland, yay. Who are these characters ? What do they like ? Why are they doing that ? WHO CARES, here is a guy turning into a chair :)
I could go on for hours to explain in details why character motivations are important and there are close to none in this story. The only reason I can figure out for Suzume helping this mysterious guy is because : 1, he's hot and 2, he knows about the doors and she wants to go there maybe ? The chair-man is doing all of that because it's his job but we never heard if he liked it or not, his insecurities about it, his family of key-men, how to become one. He is one of the main characters but we know close to nothing about him. You can find it interesting, I find it boring and lazy. Just gonna talk about these two because the aunt that brings NOTHING to their team, Suzume could have found the bicycle herself, Serizawa was driving, she could have the "ur not my real mom/daughter" moment on the phone or something. Like why did she came ? Serizawa was honestly the best part, his upbeat personality brought some light into this edgefest, he was funny in the unfunny way, he was useful and had real motives for finding chair-man, we know him better that the chair. Honestly a 10/10, useful character. If anyone was as well-ritten as him the film wold be much more interesting.
I'm just gonna evoke the most useful side story, the guy who crushes on the aunt, we were introduced to him, there was potential but just forget about it. Why movie why. You can setup something to then toss it aside
Enjoyment :
Pretty so I was happy while watching it but something that got under my skin was the "romance" between Suzume and chair-man, that was kinda creepy knowing he must be at least 23 and she still is in Highschool :|
Overall :
Pretty but empty, you had the pieces to make something great but it turned mid because the story and characters were pretty bad. Coming from a popular and respected movie director this is embarassing. I saw that he made the storyboards and other artisitc things, he should stick with it and not bother with the script if that's what he want to turn in.
Honestly if you're someone who likes pretty things, you could really love this story but I just can't

Review coming from someone who hasn't watched one piece here and i gotta say it was pretty good.
Story : Spoilers ahead
Pretty good pace to be frank, the 2 hours flew-by. The only moments I felt were dragging were established character's moments, that's all (if you follow one piece this one wouldn't even be a problem). The story was a story, I can't really develop this point onwards. Just a nitpick was Uta throwing away the medicine, that she have used after her final song
Art :
Gorgeous, really the musical numbers were some of the prettiest I've ever seen. The animation was really amazing for real.
...
I just had one problem and it was the storyboard for some action scenes that was really messy, making the action scenes hard to follow. But thank god this problem doesn't apply to the final fight scene that was beatifully done. Also love how Uta moves around, such personality in small details
Sound :
Surprised by some performances and overall the cast did a good job, especially uta. The songs were wonderful, changing as the story goes along. They were also sung by a different person, Ado, that has an amazing voice. I was stunned by her vocal perfomances
Characters :
That's where I reduced some points because I had little to no idea who they were. Most of them were put there for fanservice for sure. I can only speak about characters that were developped Uta and her teacher. I would say Uta is a good character and her teacher is someone I didn't like as much
Enjoyement :
I'm an idol and jpop fan so the songs instantly appealed to me, same goes for the wonderful animation and nice cast, so I can say I had a pretty good time
Overall :
It was really a nice movie for both fans and non-fans. It's really worth it, seriously consider giving it a watch

I have not many things to say about this anime because I quite enjoyed it
Story :
It's a very original one, fudanshis are not very common in anime so it was refreshing. The situations about being a BL-fan were pretty relatable (at least to me) and they even referenced a pretty popular BL seiyuu
Art :
Nothing too pretty, I could even say it's kind of ugly but I can guess the budget was very low so it's excusable for an anime that small
Sound :
They hired a BL seiyuu for the main voice and he's very talented, the fujoshi's seiyuu did also a very good job. Overall the
...
voice acting is pretty solid. I should also mention that the theme song is very catchy and will make you remember it
Characters :
BL fans being BL fans, the straight faced man, the sparkling gay guy and his dog, all of them were cute and nice to follow during all 12 episodes. Since it's a short anime cliché personalities like this don't end up tiring
Enjoyement :
As I said before, if you're a BL fan you will mostly relate to the main character and find those situations funny. If you're not still give it a try, since it's so short you won't loose too much of your time anyway
Overall :
A fun, cute and endearing short anime with a creator that understood well BL fans

Never knew I would love it this much. Osomatsu-san is clearly now one of my favorite anime. I already like a lot comedy anime but damn this one hits hard. I went from not knowing how to differentiate them to owning all 6 nendos and translating stuff. It’s an understatement to say I enjoyed it
Story
It is a comedy focused anime so of course the story is nothing too extra. It is more about how the jokes are written, and there are mostly all very well made. Speaking of writing, shout-out to the french translator for crunchyroll who made an amazing version, I was very impressed
Art
Fucking
...
love it. I usually love retro styles remade to today’s standards but man this one is so good. The colors, the designs, the animation, everything is so pretty to look at it is astonishing.
Sound
Let’s talk about dubbing one sec, the Japanese cast is amazing. There are veterans and it shows. I don’t even know if with a different cast this anime would be as funny. The soundtracks fits very well the tone and damn the songs. All of them are good. Yes even the endings ! I never skipped an opening and same goes for the first ending, they are that catchy and I love them
Character
All of them are precious. I get that they are supposed to be scum and overall trash but why are they so likable ? I swear I like all of them (and some more than others) and I found them more endearing than so called good guys in other animes. They each have jokes and all of them are funny, I really can’t say anything bad since there isn’t anything bad to say, just 6 likable neet brothers
Enjoyment
Laughed to tears, no need to say more. I’m now stuck with this anime, bought the nendos, installed the mobile game, saw many live events, translated a drama, listened to a drama CD, plan to buy the psvita game and I can’t wait to see the two movies soon to be released
Overall
It is a fantastic anime with a cast of 6 people who joke around and don’t work, with potty humor, and it’s amazing.
This stole my life (and my heart)/10

Gonna be as short as the anime
I watched it two times, when I never heard of the game and after I beat the entire game. It was very boring the first time but very heartwarming the second time.
Basically if you want the full experience you'll have to go through the 20h of playtime of the game first (but since the game is really good and traslated in english on steam it's alright)
Really I loved seeing my favorite characters but in chibi animated format whithout the violence of the game. It's a good fan-oriented chibi anime
Loved also the fact that sometimes the ending is the opening

of the game

This anime isn’t made to be enjoyed seriously. It cannot be, I laughed way too much in some scenes. So in my review I consider this as a parody like anime
Story
Nothing great but nothing bad too. The pacing is very inconsistent, sometimes an episode flies off and sometimes it feels like it’s an hour long episode. As far as the story and plot go, it’s nice, it’s a dark fantasy romance with some twists and sentimental tension. We have the typical love triangle, forbidden love and family member messing in because he’s scared for his lil sister. I really don’t see major plot problem nor
...
pacing problems
Art
It’s just really pretty. I’m kinda biased since I like a lot the artist’s style but it’s well animated. Honestly apart from some moments like in every anime, it was good
Sound
It’s both a pro and a con. The seiyuus all did a fantastic job and they sing very well but erm about what they were singing. Many songs with their visuals were hilarious to listen to and look at. Not gonna spoil anything but the way they burst into songs in the middle of nothing, while singing bullshit and having crazy visuals, I couldn’t stop myself (that’s also why I strongly think it wasn’t meant to be serious). The opening and ending are both incredible, the opening had a more serious feeling and the ending gave twisted circus vibes. The ending was so good that I don’t even think I skipped it once, I preferred (badly) singing along
Characters
We have 3 categories of main characters
-The heroine : She was nice. She was different from many reverse harem anime, not insufferable, just a normal highschooler
-The love rivals : Rem was pretty boring ngl, but he was still sweet with the heroine so that gives a pass. Then Lindo who is the incest love interest, he is the heroine’s cousin. He was more on the funny side, going to extreme measures to protect his family. He also have the pancake scene that immediately makes him a great character
-The 3 nerds in the background : Their utility ? Bickering in the background while the love rivals try to make moves on the heroine. Really those 3 are great, I’m talking about Mage, Shiki and Urie. Making them more like side characters was also a great choice because that way we can focus more on the love triangle.
Oh and there is also Roen, he’s a good boi with a pretty funny song
Enjoyment
As I said, the pacing was nice, characters too and it was very funny. Of course I had a great time. I laughed so much, and still do, at that one song from the boss fight.
Overall
My best advice would be to not take it seriously, just take it as it is. Funny lovable characters, serious plot, nice pacing overall, very pretty animation, banger opening and ending, hilarious music sequences. It’s a pretty thing with a nice romance and laughs. Hell it’s not even a reverse anime in my opinion, since it focuses more on a love triangle.
8/10, would love to see more dogs singing the chorus

This is the opinion from someone that loves the game to death and even bought it. Honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought. Spoilers ahead especially in the story part
Story :
The pacing is just horrible. What were they thinking ?? At the start the story is going nicely but once in Platinum Jail the story takes us by the hand and drags us, without letting time to catch up what's going on. Because of that important character arcs are brushed to the side and scenes that hold so much meaning feel flat. I also can't understand some decisions like with Ren's worm. Why making
...
Noiz remove it in the first place if Ren get infected by one in the end ? They could have taken a different scene from his route.
This horrible pacing don't help with the fact that Dmmd story is very complicated in the first place. Even if I know the game very well I had trouble adjusting with what was going on.
Art :
We all know too well the infamous episode of the anime... Luckily there is another version. I saw the 2nd version of the anime, not going to watch that horrible episode. From what I've seen, yes it's nowhere near the quality of the game but it's passable I guess ? From time to time it looked good to me at least
Sound :
That's really what made me watch this, the music and more precisely the character's songs that play after their episodes. When I saw that Itou Kanako, Vertueux and Seizi Kmura were coming back I had to give it a watch. I wasn't disappointed, at all. I love to death Clear's song, Lullaby blue, along with Koujaku's, by my side. The op, Slip on the pumps, grew on me with time and I fell in love with the ending, Bowie knife, the first time I listened to it. The VA all do a fantastic job on their characters, as good as before. The OSTs really feel like the game, I loved them.
I really recommend the anime for the songs alone.
Characters :
So I have a problem with them and that problem is directly linked to the pacing, they all feel flat. Maybe Mink is the more developed one, at least it’s what it seemed to me. Another problem is their bond with Aoba. Koujaku being a childhood friend is the only one who didn’t suffer from this problem but for the others
Noiz : A punk who agressed him and who broke into his house. He also did pick up fights with his best friend and looked into his dog without him knowing. Aoba has no reason to trust him nor to even care about him. Noiz just looks like a spoiled brat who likes to brag
Clear : A weird guy who fell one day and now follows him. They did have a discussion once but Aoba still looks really awkward around him. Hell I even think Aoba prefers to take his distance from Clear. I even start to think that the kindness that Aoba showed him was just pity, like how you would treat an abandoned kitten you found on the sidewalk. In the end his act of protection was just because he was his master, not because he was Aoba. That just makes me angry, treating Clear as an obedient dog and not his own person.
Mink : An ancient inmate that broke into Aoba’s home and kidnapped him. Thank god the almost rape scene wasn’t included but still Aoba was beaten up. Then when he did go out it was under a condition. So I don’t understand one bit why Aoba would want to help Mink with scrap. That’s bullshit. Aoba is acting like a nice puppy around him for no reason. Dude he kidnapped you
I also have one last thing to rant about in this section. It’s about Clear ending (again). So usually he would go boom by himself against the alphas and be out of order for about A YEAR. He even needed the help of Tae’s acquaintance, that I think worked on the alphas, to be repaired. But no, here he is a few episodes later, fighting. I guess Noiz repaired him, someone who never worked on androids. This makes absolutely no sense (even why would Noiz repair him)
Enjoyment :
Apart from the anger-inducing things I spoke about in the character section and the horrible pacing, this was quite pleasant. I absolutely love Aoba’s VA and while watching it some dmmd memes came to my mind. Some parts like the “baby” from Ren were funny and I wished they put more of those in the anime, like the Clear in an apron scene. The music was also really good (including the OSTs).
Overall :
I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone that has never heard of dmmd. That’s a terrible first experience with the franchise. It’s much more of a recap for those who have played the game, with bonus songs included. Go for it if you’re a diehard fan, otherwise, never touch it unless you wanna have a bad time. I really wanted to like it, the same way I liked the Togainu no Chi anime, even if this one wasn’t that good.

Sankaku is a story about 2 individuals with some bl elements here and there. That what intrigued me at first, the bl tag, in the end it wasn’t a romance. But it was still a pleasant story with some problems
Story:
A horror bl ? Count me in ! That said the story is quite nice to follow but around the end we had pacing problems. Things were going too quick for their own good. We also had many flashbacks which made things hard to follow. The ghost stuff was also kinda difficult to understand in addition to flashbacks. The story was too complex
...
for its own good. The end felt rushed because we had very little to catch up with the story after all of those flashbacks.
Art:
Damn that’s rough. The art is alright at the start but as the episodes continued the art was getting worse. It’s a shame because they had a lot of interesting ideas in terms of presentation, especially at the end. It’s also disappointing because they had a very nice horror feel to it but with this janky art it wasn’t that fear inducing. Sad to see that this small adaptation don’t get a lot of care.
Sound:
A nice cast overall and I have to say that Hatano-san did a fantastic job dubbing Hiyakawa. He was very in character, with a creepy/unsettling thing to his voice. The ops and ends were awesome. People put a lot of care in the sound aspect of this anime.
Characters:
Finally a developped female character in a bl ! That said, I really liked the characters. Mikado was a bit flat at the start but evolved into a more pleasant character. Hiyakawa is far from being a cliché, never seen such unique personality. Speaking of our two male leads, I was afraid at first that their relationship would end up toxic, seeing how mikado was like the puppy of Hiyakawa. Gladly that changed for the best, each one relaying on the other.
Enjoyement:
I must say I laughed. There were a lot of scenes that looked like they belonged to a more steamy yaoi that were played for comedy. It looked like that one corset scene in Black butler. I also enjoyed a lot the horror elements in there (especially Erika's powers).
Overall:
One thing it lacks is a good animation, so if you're interested and don't mind the look of it I would say go for it. They did a nice anime but they could have made a great one.

I'm gonna be quick, don't watch it. I'm just writing a review seeing how high people rate this.
Story :
There is a war and that's pretty much it. Some dude r*pe another and at the end they kiss. I know in 2 episodes you have to be very quick but this is just bad.
Art :
They looked bad. The argument of it being old isn't one. I think they put some effort only in the r*pe scenes.
Sound :
Generic and bland. The H-scenes weren't hot because of its context and the seiyuu sounded like they didn't care.
...
Character :
Big blond german looking guy r*pes tough on the outside, fragile on the inside asian looking guy. Oh and the german guy is a softie at heart. That's all. I didn't understand these characters nor their actions. Like they kiss at the end but dude he r*ped you twice because he was angry.
Enjoyement :
It's more of a horror anime that it is Bl. It's wasn't the dumb fun of Papa to Kiss, it was only pain.
Overall :
Don't.
