Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, is what they say, this also applies quite well to short anime made out of quick skits to enjoy as a appetizer for the bigger shows, and in this case as a quick advertisement for Uma Musume's second season.
This short series is definitely aimed for those of us who already enjoyed the original shenanigans of the Team Spica along with a handful of other side character already presented in the original and new characters that might become regulars in the sequel.
The chibi-like flash artstyle make the quick gags with limited animation shine on what is meant to
...
be blazing comedy not to be taken too seriously or overthink it.
If you already liked shows like Teekyu this is one to watch in between or just binge in one sitting.

Do you like Ramen? Do you like cute girls? Nice. Because that's all you're getting by watching this show.
Let me rephrase that. The main star of this show is the Ramen in all of it's variations and locations to be consumed and the cute girls are just cardboard cutouts showcasing the dish and the culture behind the consumption of this dish.
Don't be fooled, although this might end up in the same category of other food porn shows like Shokugeki, or Koufuku Graffiti the visuals on the dishes are just passable without being memorable, specially since it's always Ramen. The difference between those shows and Ramen
...
Daisuki is that those have either a story arc with plenty of characterization or just endearing character interactions with the cast. Ramen Daisuki makes no effort in gathering the group of girls and create bonds that would tell more about their Ramen corporation embassadors. Quite the opposite, Koizumi-san is a loner that has only one thing on her mind, that's it, you guessed it, it's Ramen. Koizumi is some half-assed Saiki-san joke where she's mostly unreachable by her peers and she'll just end up brushing off Yuu, although at times she will encounter and accept the company of Misa & Jun. Her relationship with Jun might be the less absurd, but it's the most boring since all they talk or rather all Koizumi does is blurt out a plethora of how great Ramen and it's culture is.
In terms of animation is quite decent, but at times it relies too much on panning stills. The unique washed out color palette makes it a bit different from the pack though. The soundtrack is nothing that grabs anyone's attention, and it's actually pretty limited wich tends to repeat, specially when Koizumi enters scene and you know it's her just by the soundtrack playing in the background.
Long story short. This is nothing but a glorified slurping Ramen TV spot with a catchy jingle and girls having foodgasms. A visually compliant but souless piece of entertainment. If you like shows featuring cute girls with more substance, there's pleanty to choose from on this season.

I can think of at least 2 things wrong with that title.
It’s not funny and there’s nothing romantic about it.
The writters aimed for deadpan sarcastic comedy title, yet they didn’t do their work investigating how successful deadpan comedy Works. You need to have a serious guy and a funny guy to make the comebacks, this doesn’t work if both guys are dead inside.
Lest start with the characters shall we?
There’s nothing wrong with an outcast pessimistic boring character, but it becomes terribly wrong if this character has only one face to show up to the audience and shows no growth at all during the whole series.
...
Yes we’re talking about Hachiman, the dead inside “all I do is right or at least is the easy/fast way to do kind of guy”. I still haven’t figured out how did I manage to watch all 12 episodes and not die of an aneurysm on his inside monologues. A 2 x 4 wooden plank with a serious face painted on it would have been funnier and even more charismatic than this carácter.
Now lets talk about Yukino the Ice Queen. At least she shows up some progress at the last episodes of the showing some gratitude and trying hard to strengthen the bonds between her and Yui. But she’s still awfully boring and hard to relate or like at all. Flawless characters aren’t funny at all, there’s no room for improvement. It was so annoying to see her to point out Hiki’s flaws with no retort at all, watch her play tennis better than Serena Williams, up to doing all the planning for the culture festival and also become some rockstar on stage by playing a guitar and singing with no premise to us the viewers. And lets not forget about her sister being some sort top class director a la Fletcher from Whiplash.
Yui is probably the most down to earth character from the main cast. She’s fun, thoughtful and a bit of a door mat by trying to fit in with the cool guys, but eventually she’ll make the choice of sticking with the people who atcually care for her.
Story?
There’s really no story in it. It’s a stale slice of life trying to stay under the radar throughout highschool days. The writters tried to add some kind of sub-plot on the whole Hikki/Yui backstory about her dog being run-over by a mysterious black limo, but the lazy writters just didn’t care to follow up the story.
Artsyle is just above everage, nothing to be amazed about it, guess it suits the average boring characters.
The animation is just bare minimum, since most of the shots are just panning stills of Hikki doing his mindboring monologues. There are a few action scenes with more movement involved, but those are quite rare.
I don’t know why there are so many people calling this series “realistic”. There’s nothing real about this one, being a pessimistic guy who makes no effort whatsoever to come out of his confort zone always comes back to punish him/her wheter is at work places or among family/friends.
To be fair, the only times I had some laughs were from the Fujoshi jokes from Ebina. At least the wirtters know the basics of slapstick humor.
Don't waste your time on this one, there are tons of deadpan humor series out there that know how to make memorable characters, like Hare nochi Guu, Seitokai Yakuindomo, or Konosuba to name some series that vary a lot in terms of background and story.

Review Text
Let me start off by stating this is not a Boy Love anime. It's about a closet otaku girl that loves BL mangas. So all you peeps out there freaking out because you don't want to see boy on boy action rest assured.
The beggining of the series is about how shallow we all were back in school days. Lets be honest we all tried our best to get along with the popular guys, or the good looking people. If you managed to find mutual interests and or had good chemistry you'll tag along for the rest of your Junior High or high school period.
...
If there's no compatibility or you just get treated like dirt you move on to a different circle. Having stated it, yes, a couple of the guys didn't treat Kae with proper respect due to her appearance, and that completely changes when she becomes slim and noticeable. The good thing is that once Kae gains weight, all of the guys try to help her get back for her own sake, but also find out that they love kae no matter her appearance. No, the series isn't going to win the best humanitarian message award, it's not so bad is it? afterall it's a very light romance/friendship kind of series.
The characters are simple and likeable, non of them are complex or entireable relatable, in fact some of them are archtypes of other romance/comedy series. Again, that's not bad at all, since it's a light romance/comedy series.
We got Kae, the Fujoshi otaku closet girl, who is very shy when it comes to speaking to guys even after she gets her change appareance. Igarashi the though decisive athletic guy. Nanashima or Nana, the hothead. Mutsumi the mild kind hearted guy and Shino the younger nicer guy. And there's also Shima the boyish looking girl who can do pretty much anything. Yep all 5 of them will try to win Kae's hearth by trampling each other. I said earlier that all of the characters were pretty likeable, but I'll have to be honest and say that Misha is just ludicrous as it is, being a rich girl, fashion oriented, straight forward, profesional self published mangaka.
The art is very faithful to the manga, and that's a good thing. It goes almost by the book to the old shojo manga designs, girls with big bright eyes, long eyelashes, lovely pinkish lips, and slender figure. Although it's kinda odd that Kae managed to get a bigger bust size compared to the rest of the girls in the series, mostly for comic relief on the cliched stumble jokes. The guys are pretty much what girls like, slender and a tad muscular on most of them.
The backgrounds are pretty plain and single colored, not so bad since most of the plot happens in school grounds.
The weakest point could be music is almost non existant or at least nothing remarkable.
The fun factor is probably it's best asset, you'll always want to see Misha and Kae taunting the boys and pulling pictures of them in awkward BL situations wich they don't enjoy at all.
If you enjoy like light romance/comedy series, no brainer required, this is one you should watch.
