Vinland Saga is a very interesting anime, it is almost entirely focused on the plot of the protagonist with the historical situation as the background and the other characters serve as a complement.
Characters:
Vinland Saga has very few really important characters, who in my opinion are only Thorffin and Askeladd who are important in the story, because honestly nobody gives a damn to Canute for example, you just want to know what will happen to him, but no cares what happens. The construction of the characters is very well done Thorffin manages to be a very interesting protagonist with an spectacular construction, as for Askeladd he
...
is a good character from the beginning and manages to remain like this until the end of the anime, his personality remains the same in almost all episodes being that they will go deeper into the character's story in the final stretch of the season, however this is very well done.
History:
The story of Vinland Saga evolves along with the anime, it is basically about Thorffin and his revenge, it turns out to be a story not very complex, the anime itself goes together with Thorffin, the story is intriguing you always want to know what it will happen as the episodes pass, in the final stretch of the anime in which Askeladd's history deepens, the story becomes much more interesting, and the final events make up for the lack of complexity of the story, you are left with an even greater desire to know what will happen, if the plan the characters outlined will work, in general it's a very good story.
Animation / Sounds:
Both are excellent, the soundtrack of this anime is something that "emotion to the episode", action scenes with the soundtrack of this anime are great, the opening I liked both openings, but I found the first one a little higher, as the closings I liked both, but different from the opening, I liked the second closing more. As for the animation, I found it very consistent, and the fight scenes are fantastic.
Conclusion:
It is a very good anime, it has small errors that made me not give the grade 10, many of these errors are due to the lack of good characters, as I said this anime only has Askeladd and Thorffin as a character, the others is the rest that need to exist to have a story, the anime starts very well, decays a lot but in the end it gets interesting again, that when it started to give a greater focus to a character that was already good, but he left me immersed from beginning to end when I wanted to start getting sick of the anime he surprised me and I was more willing to watch, wanting to know the direction that the anime would follow, it is certainly a good anime, but it has some mistakes.
