The typical fantasy 'Isekai" plot that every anime fans would expect - OP main character, MC adapting to the fantasy world, gathering reliable allies for battle and completing quests, using the wits and knowledge from his world to unleash his capabilities in the new world and of course, gathering harem.
When I read the plot, first thing came to my mind is the mediocre typical setting that many other series have attempted before. I came to a conclusion that there are nothing special or appealing about this anime. However, I decided to give both myself and "Isekai wa Samartphone to Tomo ni" a chance and
...
attempted a few episodes.
The first episode was decent but I am not very pleased with the anime artwork. It feels like a low cut budget production that the art was just dreadful. Plot wise - The MC, Touya Mochizuki were given priority and special skills that would even rival the king. Touya was able to equip all of the magic elements and inherit the legacy of the ancient civilisation - something that even a high ranking magic practitioner can barely do that. Hence, you can say that Touya has the whole world in his hands.
What I hate most about this series is that there isn't any solid plot, Touya and his allies were just consistently defeating enemies, earning the trusts of Kings from various state and thus, adding more girls into his "harem" collection- YAY. Moreover, all he does is the SAME old deadly move to capitalise his opponent. There isn't any suspense or thrill in watching him defeat his opponent as you know that he will always easily overthrow them with that 1 godly move.
If you are those who just want to seek a light hearted, comedy, action with slice of life theme, this is just for you but there are MANY more better anime than this. On the other hand, if you are a hardcore action anime fan that would like to seek epic anime fights, then this will disappoint you.
Overall, it's mediocre and overrated.
