I've been watching One Piece since I was 8yo. Today I am 18yo. For every anime I've seen already, One Piece is one of the best for me. During the years, I did several pauses (between 1 month and one year) when I wasn't watching this anime, but every time I resume watching it, I can't stop watching all the episodes I missed in 1 day or 2 days.
STORY 10/10
One Piece has an incredible and deap story, very unique with a lot of details, sometimes suspense
...
and a lot of things we didn't expect to happen. I will not tell you the basic summary of the anime, because first, you probably know it, and then you should watch it and discover everything by yourself.
ART 9/10
Since the beginning, I love the art and how One Piece is animated. In the first arcs (I don't remember when it changed but between ep 1 - 400 minimum), it had an animation which had its charm and it was personnally the animation that I prefered. Then, I had the impression that the animation changed, I didn't really love it, but it was ok. Finally, since the Wano Kuni arc, the animation changed and improved a lot in my opinion.
If we talk now on the design of the characters, this is incredible to see how many characters there are, and despite this, every character is different. I like it, but in my opinion, it was much more better in the first arcs (before time skip), because nothing was exaggerated in the design of the characters and I have the impression that we could feel the emotions of the characters better than in the current episodes.
Finally, if we talk about how the universe and the backgrounds of One piece, I'd say that it is wonderful and very original.
SOUND 10/10
The ost and openings give me a lot of good memories and are perfect in my opinion (I know all the lyrics of the openings by heart). Every ost is a masterpiece.
CHARACTER 10/10
Every character is really well developped and has a unique personnality. We can really get attached to each of them.
ENJOYMENT 9/10
One piece is really enjoyable, by the fights and epic moments, but also with all the funny moments. It is great to see that I grew up with One Piece but the manga also gained in maturity over the years, which is good because for example, a lot of jokes in the first episodes that I had to laugh when I was yound will not makes me laugh today.
The only bad point is that you can get be bored sometimes, because in a lot of episodes, the story is very slow and just a very few things happen.
OVERALL 10/10
One Piece is a masterpiece. The story, fights, characters, openings and osts are incredible. Moreover, it is realistic in several points of the story (you'll see, it shows slavery, poverty and much more hard realities) and has great life lessons. One Piece has a special place in my heart, because it was the first anime I've watched and I grew up with this.
Anecdote : When I was 8, I was watching TV and came across a French channel called "Directstar" and I started watching One Piece and I loved it. My sister wanted to stop me from watching it because I was 8 years old but I did everything to continue this series. Here I am 10 years later, I am still looking forward to all the episodes.
I highly recommend this anime !
