Simple but very well made.
Soloist doesn't seem to aim to be a grand and complex series but that's quite alright. The plot progresses fast but naturally, without feeling rushed. The characters, bad and good, are quick to become likeable. The art is gorgeous and detailed, the character design stylish, the page composition dynamic and there are lots of creative visual ideas.
