Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai: The Exhaustion of Stale Formulas
Every anime season, we encounter shows that recycle the same clichés, shining on the surface but ultimately hollow inside. Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai perfectly fits this category—devoid of originality, underestimating its audience, and offering nothing new.
Story and World-Building: Zero Depth, Zero Originality
The story revolves around a "legendary hero" who has been reincarnated. We've seen hundreds of anime with this exact premise, and Seiken Gakuin does nothing but add another one to the pile. The world-building is shallow, the rules feel arbitrarily set, and the narrative progression is entirely predictable. It starts with some intrigue but quickly drowns

in a heap of clichés.
Characters: A Box of Clichés
The biggest problem with Seiken Gakuin is its lack of character depth. Our protagonist is an overpowered yet utterly dull child. His age not only makes him less believable but also makes it difficult to take him seriously. He undergoes no real growth, never struggles with any challenges, and conveniently resolves everything with his "magical abilities." The surrounding cast consists of anime's most overused archetypes:
Kuudere Princess: Cold at first, but inevitably warms up.
Cute but Useless Side Characters: They exist only for eye candy, adding nothing to the story.
"Villain" Stereotypes: Predictable motivations, zero threat factor.
None of these characters have a true identity or development. Their sole purpose seems to be catering to a specific audience that enjoys template-based pretty anime girls and shallow power fantasies.
Action and Visuals: Below Average
For an action-fantasy anime, the fight scenes should at least be entertaining. Unfortunately, this is yet another disappointment. The choreography is weak, the animation quality is mediocre, and the battles lack any real excitement. While there are occasional visually appealing moments, the overall atmosphere and scene design feel uninspired.
Conclusion: A Waste of Time
Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai appeals only to the lowest common denominator of its genre. It offers nothing but shallow characters, a story devoid of innovation, unimpressive fight scenes, and an abundance of "beautiful anime girls" thrown in for decoration. The fact that the protagonist is a child further weakens the narrative, as it removes any potential for serious storytelling or meaningful character development. If you're looking for another addition to the pile of generic anime, go ahead and watch it. But if you seek quality, steer clear of this one.
