The manga is a prime example on how to kill your own show in a wimp.
I think everyone who wants to write a story be it a novel/webtoon/manga etc. should read this manga just to not make the same mistakes.
It's such a prime example how you can get from a well selling manga down to "no one cares about it"
even if you're featured in one of the most popular magazines of that type.
The manga is even if you do hate shounen trophes, - funny
and never so annoying that you couldn't read it anymore at least for the first 30 chapters.
It does start off as a
...
carefree episodic manga with a bit of a story.(to lift the curse of the FL) but it never takes itself serious
and even if it's listed as (battle) shounen it actually does not fall into this genre at all for half of it.
If there are battles they got resolved quickly in a single chapter and because of the absurd and stupid "power" the mc has you can't take it seriuously.
It is more about the interaction between the four members of the group.
Sadly it took another turn after that and got into full battle shounen while getting rid of everthing else
which made this manga enjoyable, - the group of four idiots doing their best to lift the curse.
You get a battle shounen(which has nothing to do how the series did start or even got to this point)
which continued for around 20 chapters until it made the sales drop so low that it was shortly before beeing axed.
The whole arc was done at chapter 51 but the sales where now so low from a once "hit" series that it needed a huge impact to get back to it's former glory.
And instead to going back to the things their fans loved they did the absoluty worst thing possible.
The characters and their development got ingnored and instead they even made the battle scenes longer(and more boring)
while also including an out of now where agressive love interest for the FL.
The ML now also acts even worse and out of character than at the start without any reason just for the drama.
It took only 3 weeks after that until it got axed and you got at least a (confusing and rushed) few ending chapters.
It was such a collosal misjudgement from everyone involved that a character driven story could suddenly be a battle shounen
it's a fun read till this date just to show you how to ruin a story which could've otherwise ~200 chapters.

This one of the few mangas where the journey is actually the best part while the ending(besides the the epilogue) is also alright.
The story is nothing new at all it has been done countless times
the difference is that it is actually enjoyable at all times,
because there is no love triangle/harem story in it which does plague the genre with ghosts in it.
You don't have 5-30 wasted chapters just to indroduce another love interest.
The art does have it's issues too, it's rather obvious that the mangaka wasn't able to get chapters done till the deadline
and because of that there are a lot of chapters
...
with just sketches and basic drawn panels and no background at all.
The story itself is enjoyable all the time it just sadly lacks when the endgame starts and is getting serious.
The resolve of the main story just feels a bit lackluster and a certain character never got any punishment or redemption for the horrible things he/she did.
It also had a rather realistic view on a character pattern most ppl absulute hate,
- The "Thot" character which is in this show resembled by Kirie,
she is constantly trying her best to get the ML away from the FL just for her own gain but does it in a way
which is not over the top with schemes or annoying but rather realistic and understandable.
The ending itself also does lose a lot of impact thanks to the following two 0.5 chapters which more or less retcon the original(and way better ending) just for the sake of a completly unbelieveable happy disney ending.
Don't get me wrong it was enjoyable to read and while it never had any real impact I liked it alot.

The manga could've been really interresting, - the first few chapters will certainly catch you. It's sadly just another generic harem later on.
It does actually start strong and has some sukasuka vibes in it. After around chapter 15 it gets worse and worse with every chapter.
It's so bad that at some point they even make a cringy bottom shoujo collar/leash arc with an chloroform abduction
where the ML is treated like a pet, - and got on top of it nearly killed by the FL's maid.
Both The ML and FL are completly alright with it even if it doesn't make any sense for their characters.
The
...
issue is the further you read it the more female harem members which instantly fall in love with the ML get introduced.
Every single female character seems to have either a past with the ML and is in love with him or is just instantly in love with him on first sight.
The story itself is interresting and you want to know more about the two countries(and the neutral ones) but honestly
it feels like the author gave up after chapter 17 and just did want to get over with it.
He/She just includes more and more harem members instead of focusing on the world and character building.
It is honestly a shame because this manga could be more than that and you could clearly see the potential in the first 15 chapters.

If you intend to watch this show you really need to have a high resistance against bad cgi.
The cgi is in fact so bad that is on par with Berserk 2016 and Overlord season III.
The issue is that in this show everything is done via cgi and at the same time soooo badly done it's hard to endure.
The facial motion of the characters, the animations while fighting/talking or just walking/running, - everything is at a niveau ~15 years ago.
The Dragon/Cyclops animation reminds me in fact of ps2 prerendered cutscenes with 5-10 fps.
The only good cgi part are the skeletons, dunno why but
...
the animations for those are really good even when moving in a mob.
If you can endure the cgi the actual show is at least interresting but if you havn't played the games it will be confusing because the whole show is rushed to a point that most things just make no sense at all and are never explained.
The story intends to show you how the once "pure" and good hearted main character gets colder overtime while watching the cruelty of mankind
and at some point just is completly indifferent to anything.
There is just an huge issue and that is the 7 episode count. It just doesn't work at all because of a lack of focus(monster of the week episodes)
and most of the development just happens offscreen and the viewers need to connect it by themselves.
If you played the game you can enjoy it to some point, especially episode 7 has a few moments in it but reducing a 20-40 min multistage boss fight
with lot of dialogue pre dlcs(with dlc gear you just skip trough stages and kill him in ~5minutes) into 10 minutes in the anime was maybe the wrong choice.
It was not a bad anime at all but the cgi and lack of episodes or focus on the characters made it worse than it could've been.
Maybe that was the intention so that ppl will play the game instead? Dunno but anyways if you didn't play Dragons Dogma
and are interrest after watching the anime I can only recommend playing the game. It's a different story but well done and even the cgi is way better. =P

The show is a complete mess without any pathing or story at all, the only thing
good about it is the drawing of character in the main/front view.
It really tries to make you feel sad for the characters but the issue is that they overdo it.
Every single "pretended" to be sad scene is so badly done that it's you'll most of the time just laugh
about the poor story writing/execution and the wrong choice of music.
It is like watching a B or C movie which didn't intend to be funny but is because of how badly it is done.
It is just a random montage of scenes without
...
any charbuilding.
They even try to fit in something for anti and pro clima change ppl at the same time. x)
The actual art is also suffering a lot if you look at the background.
There are many characters which are drawn so badly when they're not in the focus.
Normally that wouldn't be an issue but for an anime which has no other redeeming factor this is a huge hit.

I took a liking on this show since the very beginning. The art style was kinda unique and I realy liked the character design.
The issue was that this work was stated as a romantic tragedy before serialization. I just prefer to don't read those until they're completed.
So I bootmarked it but didn't read it after until now which is around 3 years later.
A few days ago I went through all the old anime/manga I was interrested in and stumbled on this on. It is completly different from the pre serialization one.
It's no longer a tragedy, the female lead is not a vampire anymore and the
...
male lead doesn't get nosebleeds everytime he looks at the FL.
So I just gave it a shot und I must say this is one of the best romance stories I've come across.
Both the FL and ML are in a relationship right of the bat, they both love it other and do tell each other.
Thanks to the curse they can't touch each other because the "Boy"(that's the ML name we never know his actual name.) will kill any living thing he touches instantly.
It is more or less a slice of life story about those two without any drama or love interrest/harem type of things.
You'll get to know a lot of other characters in the series
and not a single one is annoying. It's often said that this manga has around 90% filler,
thats not wrong at all but every single filler is heartwarming and unlike many other mangas worth to read.
It's a perfect read if you just want a show without any drama and just enjoy the interactions between characters. ---> Pervert bird guy is a meme generator. x)

I have to mention that I only watched this aime until s3 ep5. So the review is until that point where I just could stand it anymore and dropped it. I'll prevent spoilers.
It is kinda a wet dream of every SJW fantasy. A male MC which is leashed, wipped and put into chains while still in love with Main Girl.
For season 1 you really need to endure ep2...I think that's the point where most ppl just did drop it.
And tbh it doesn't get better from this point onward. The same jokes are recycled like 1-3 time per episode. The Male MC looks at a
...
female and will get wipped/punched bloody by the Female Tsundere. Yeah and that's kinda all the interaction they have in 3 seasons.
There are a few scenes which should be sad in both s1 and s2 but it just doesn't work at all because you know the male mc will get slapped the next moment by the female mc and that kinda ruins the mood. Every single "serious" moment if you even can call it that is ruined by it and you just roll your eyes in cringe way before it.
The action scenes are so badly done it could even be a powerpoint slideslow and it would make no difference. Hell even the most absurd CGI shows did it better.
There is no character devolpment over 3!!! seasons at all the female MC is still abusing the male MC in the most horrible ways possible while the male MC is a dumb shounen character which refuses to kill anyone even in a full out war and getting plot armor and even hyper plot armor and a new harem in s3. ;>
Starting with S2 the male MC suddenly becomes also a horny douchebag all of a sudden. There is no explanation at all but, yeah good writing. Seems he likes big boobs more than anything else out of nowhere just for the abuse jokes from the female MC.
So if you ever want to put a male on leash and treat him like a pet while feeling superiour I am kinda sure this show is just for you.

The best way to describe this Manga is average. Everything about it is nothing special and especially the pathing is so slow and repetetive that you will get annoyed at some point. The Manga infact gave me flashbacks to one of the worst mangas ever written called "school rumble".
If you in there for the comedy you'll get disapointed. I think I only chuckled 2-3 times trough the manga and that was not because of the MC's but because of class reps Yayoi fantasies. The author did try hard to make jokes about the love triangle/harem genre which where funny for the first time but certainly
...
not at the 5th time.
The same thing goes for the romance. There is no romance at all untili around 150 chapters in and when it does happen it will get set back to the status before right in the next chapter.
Another issue is the story itself. I know that it is kinda slice of life and I shouldn't expect too much but works like "ReLife" or "Horimiya" showed that you can do an interresting backstory even in this genre. The story here is just uninterresting and the "huge" plot twist was obvious like 100 chapters before.
The worst thing about the whole manga are by far both MC's I never felt any attachment to one of those because they're kinda generic Shoujo characters without any depth. The Male MC gives me infact creeps for the first ~130 with his obsessive, stalker attitude while the female is the typical dense lead without any personality.

The funny (or interresting) thing about this manwa is that you can just replace the word "vampire" with "black", "asian", "caucasian", "gay", "muslim", "catholic", "jewish" or any other kind of minority in the place where you live and it still does makes sense. The author didn't intent that kind of thing but sadly it does work.
It's a boring read most of the time especially the first 30 chapters could be tuned down in ~3-5 chapters, because everything just repeats again and again. If this was cut down to a ~ 40-50 chapter manwa it would certainly be for the better.
The main characters are both nothing
...
special but will never get annoying they both have their issues and unlike many other characters of this genre you understand why they do act the way they do.
The art really drops badly later on and you'll see a lot of chibbi drawings, sometimes even 50% of a chapter consinsts of chibbi. I am not against that per se but if it's so obvious that those drawings are only used to save time it's another thing.
So in the end it could've really been a good picture on society(even if not intended) but it did fail at many points, on the other hand as a serious romance it just fails horrible with repeating scenes and trophes all over again till the end.

This is just a fair warning for anyone who want to read this LN it will get into a full harem from 0 to 100 in a single volume at vol 10 which goes on for another 17 volumes.(27 volumes of lightnovels total atm)
It does have themes like incest, heavy female abuse on males and blunt xenophobia in it.
It was an okaaayish read until vol 10 where it suddenly went into a whole other direction. You can also ignore my chapters read, because I certainly will not took out the LN's and count them.
If the writer had a discussion with his editor and stuff(which I
...
assume) after vol 8 it did went this way:
1. Hey, we don't sell as much as before, any ideas?
2. How about we include vampires, everyone likes them! And a Harem, everyone likes that too!
3. Yeah best idea ever! I'll write it into it somehow.
4. How about androids on top of it?
1. Nah they're boring!
2. How about an android which is infected by an alien parasite which makes them fall in love with the MC.
3. WoW I never thought about that I'll write them into.
1. I heard that this show called Fate/Zero prints money like mad, especially because of that Saber gal.
3. NP I'll write her into it.
2. But you need to make her fall for the MC instantly! And she needs to be op!
3. Already done!
1. And didn't we have that loli girl Honoko which had like 10 pages total in 8 novels?
2. Everyone loves lolis! Make her another harem member!
3. Totally included.
1,2,4 Profit!
Volume 1-7 is mostly about an overpowered MC(Tatsuya) which needs to hide his true powers because of certain circumstances in his family tree while at the same time protecting his sister(Miyuki).
Both those siblings are completing overpowered, they could even start a WW on their own and Miyuki has a huge crush on her brother since a certain event in the past which is only explained in Volume 8 of the LN.
Before that point neither the male MC nor the female MC had any charbuilding or backstory. In fact the 8 volume is the only time you'll ever get to know anything about both MC's in 27 novels.(ongoing)
The whole novel suffers a lot because of an female cast of over 30(midway~vol14) and way more(I did stop counting at some point while reading).
The (female)cast is just way too huge.
Even if you would cut it by 50% you wouldn't remember half of them because they only get a few pages per book. At the same time you have a male cast of 4(if you're generous and do count masaki in it 5) which are more or less for domestic abuse against males "jokes"(leo/erica) or just side characters noone cares about.
On top of it you have a female stalker(Honoka) which sexually haresses the male mc every few pages after volume 10 while she got already rejected. No one cares about that while a certain male sidecharacter(Leo) gets constantly kicked/punched unconscious by his female crush(Erica) if he only looks slighty at another female.
You ask why I still read it till vol 27? That's because the actual mainstory is not bad at all it just get drowned with all that harem nonsense later on.
If you remove the spell explansions which sometimes go on for 3-6 pages just to conclude that the spell is a black hole, counterspell etc. and the harem bs the whole mainstory of 27 volumes could be told in 3-4 volumes.
