Shinei Nouzen = Sgt. Sousuke Sagara. Vladilena Milizé = Kaname Chidori + Teletha Testarossa. Same genres (Drama, Sci-fi, Romance) Eighty Six = Full Metal Panic! + Akito the Exiled. If you like one you'll like the other sice they're both great, deep, meaningful and enjoyable stories about war. Be careful with (Nazi/war/etc.) propaganda on both since it's very frequent. Also everyone is a badass regardless of gender, power or race. FMP! is heavier so read with preucation!

Mystic, deep and well-thought-out Shounen series both written by female mangaka. In both series there can be found resilient women and reliable men. The art is phenomenal and the plot is superb. Both manga have blasphemies and some anti-christian messages and should be skipped if read by an easily corrupted mind. Read with precaution but also expect something life-changing (for better or for worse.)

Guilty Crown seems to be the non-pretentious and actually meaningful (save for the crappy ending) version of SSE. Shuu is the reconstruction of Shinji in a sense that he's a badass wimp who is actually competent and his anxienty and depression representations are not offensive nor stupid. Inori is Rei + Asuka in a sense that she is a kuudere and a love interest who does everything to help to protagonist. Neither are close to being a masterpiece, both have souless endings but at least GC isn't a trashy bible fanfiction filled with pseudo-philosophy and faux symbolism. If you didn't get it yet I'll spell it out for you: I fuckin' hate Shinseiki Evangelion and I wish it never existed, it's just Gundam with harem and BL undertones.
