damn no one gives anything lower than 6 so imma just give it a solid 2 for this garbage. i hate it when i dont see reviews that speak my mind so i have to write this shit on my own. spoiler warning or whatever. dont waste ur time watching that movie.
no seriously, what the hell is there to compliment from this movie? one dimensional characters? stupid worldbuilding? crappy plot? i couldnt even torture myself to finish this movie (i stopped at 78 mins because im not a masochist). i thought this is going to be a fun sci-fi ish drama whatsoever but nope, OZ
...
is a one hell of a stupid system, and they dont even explain it that well. they told u that this is an impenetrable system but nope, a high schooler and apparently 55 other people in the world, can hacked into this system. and the whole love machine thing caused by the uncle MY FUCKING GOD!!!! ok u know what, the thing that infuriates me the most is natsuki, i have many other things that i dislike from this movie but we will get into that later.
natsuki sins:
-randomly made a promise to her grandma to not die before meeting her boyfriend and made up a background story THAT APPARENTLY FITS WITH HER UNCLE'S (THAT NO ONE RELIZES BEFORE KENJI GOT EXPOSED). see these are two sins already. so embarrassing of her to be like "UNCLE!!<33" *with incestious intentions* AT HER BIG AGE. UR UNCLE CRUSH KILLED UR GRANDMA AND SHE WAS STILL MOURNING... THE UNCLE... FROM LEAVING (SHE WAS SHOWN HOLDING HIS PHONE LATER TRYIMG TO UNLOCK IT OR SOMETHING IDK) INSTEAD OF... MOURNING HER GRANDMA'S DEATH... (grandma is the only goat from this movie btw)
-she manipulates kenji
-she didnt help everyone. was just looking :'( and being useless
uncle sins:
-"gramma... *pleading face* u do understand that i hacked the system so that the US would give us more money righty right uwu i TOTALLY FORGOT that everything is linked to OZ AND THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF KILLING YOU! hehe arent u happpy grandma"
(i didnt watch it till the end but i hope he follows the grandma to the afterlife)
NPCass family sins:
-being dumb as hell. everyone is one dimensional and stupid. even kazuma (thought he was cool at first) BUT MAN IT IS SO GOOFY watching him "training his fists" etc when all he did was pushing buttons AAAAA it's like u have to master martial art first before being good at mortal kombat.
WHOLE THING ABOUT FIGHTING LOVE MACHINE IS JUST CRINGE. EVEN THE NAME ITSELF IS CRINGE.
im just too angry to write a coherent review so if u dont like reading this then u suck

FINALLY! A mature anime with a wholesome story.
Ok first time watching this i thought it would take the romance route between kongming and eiko and i thought eiko would be a minor, but nah this goated anime chose the chad path: kongming and eiko are tied with professional relationship only (no hint of romance which is very pog, he was only moved by eiko's voice), and eiko is an adult! So nothing creepy about the story (bare minimum but rare).
Characters are all likeable, even the "bad guy" turned out to be wholesome at the end. The only villain is the girl u see on
...
the first 2 or 3 eps? and that's it. I love how the characters are well developed too. Like even kabe got his side story. Rap battle arc was amazing (seriously the freestyle rap was fire), friendship arc between eiko and nanami was also very nice. u see i love how there is no stupid story like one of them is succumbing to let the other win, they take this seriously and still managed to give both sides a win.
The art is nice, sound is nice, OP is amazing (i couldnt get the CIKI CIKI BAM BAM song and dance out of my head), eiko and azalea songs are actually fire.
The humor doesnt always hit but it's not bad. Overall this is a very nice isekai anime. (yes it is an isekai fight me)

Ahh finally a good romance anime.
Kinda rare to find an anime where the male MC is not a creep. Tada is really just a dude. Just a guy. He likes photography, he helps at his family’s cafe. Really just a normal dude. Which makes his character feels real, nothing too flashy. His character also has depth, he struggles with being true to himself bc of his parents passing. I like his character, i like how he is just a normal guy.
And Teresa she’s nice, kinda quirky, and likeable. What is there to hate from her? The only unlikeable character is Alex. i know
...
she is just doing her part as Teresa’s bodyguard? But she’s annoying (maybe this is biased bc im not really a fan of tsunderes in general). The way she tried to be overprotective to Teresa is annoying.
Ijyuin is fun character, truly a bro. I love the voice acting too (Mamoru-san did a great job as always). Pin is creepy i don’t like him. The dog dude Yamashita is also weird, i don’t really like him either. And Charles is surprisingly a really cool dude.
This anime doesn’t really have a plot until later eps. Which im ok with bc i love slice of life anime. I feel like before eps 10, the plot is just daily shenanigans to strengthen the bond between the main casts, and it worked well. The comedy hits most of the times too. The animation is good, i skip the op and ed from ep 2 to 12 but i think it was not too bad. The ending is a bit unrealistic but they gave us what most viewers wants i guess. It was overall a fun experience to watch this.

You guys seriously like this anime?
There are wayyy too many wrong stuffs going on to actually enjoy this anime.
Every adult in this anime is creepy. The pedophile disgusting Rea’s dad, his disgusting second wife (who did nothing to stop her husband from committing child porn????), the maids are all creeps too. Even Chihiros family are creeps, his dad literally letting a stranger, teenage girl, living with his son, the grandpa is also weird and creepy (design and attitude wise). And Ranko’s mom that literally supports incestry between her daughter and nephew??? Why is there not a single sane adult in this anime i
...
don’t understand.
I dont really hate this anime bc at least, Rea, Chihiro and Mero are still likeable. Especially Mero, i think episode 9 is the best of all 12.
This anime could be fun if there was no weird stuffs going on. But they added it. For whatever reasons. They could make Rea’s dad just a strict normal dad, they could make Ranko just a childhood friend (with no blood relations), but they didn’t :/ i think they specifically made this for weird people with specific fetishes…. Maybe… i could not think of other reasons why anyone would enjoy this mess.

Had some expectations knowing that this is a Satoshi Kon’s movie and was left with disappointment after watching it. The story is about simps. MC (Chiyoko) is a fool who simped for a criminal she met once, side character (Genya the interviewer) is also a simp, he simped for the Chiyoko (he sacrificed his life to safe her but she didn’t even remember him loool). Oh wait the director is also a simp, he simped for Chiyoko too (why? Idk she looks the exact same with her meanie senpai, the only difference is Chiyoko has a mole). The shallow story was told using good ol
...
reality bending technique for the sake of aesthetic (cuz it didn’t add anything to the plot, really). The characters were one dimensional, no character development, nothing to care about, no one is really likeable. No chemistry between Chiyoko and the dude she chased after, why would we care about a simp who dedicated her whole life for a guy she met once (SHE DIDN’T EVEN ASK FOR HIS NAME, DIDN’T EVEN SEE HIS FACE CLEARLY WHEN THEY MET). At least the art is ok, animation and sound are well done, but this movie made me angry. The plot is stupid, the ending is also stupid. The only enjoyment i got is from writing this rant. Save your time and watch other Satoshi Kon’s works.

I’m a fan of boring anime with pretty visuals, this one however is not boring, i got hooked on the story and how beautiful the art is (the sound and animation are soothing and nice). The premise of this movie is simple, a little girl got lost in a forest and rescued by an ikemen spirit, the little girl fell in love with him. I didn’t have much expectations knowing this is a shoujo anime, but man was this movie disappointing (spoiler alert).
The character design is plain (i dont mind this, but they are very forgettable) and they are just like the usual shoujo protagonists,
...
plain boring and one dimensional. Nothing much about Hotaru except that she simped for a ghost, and we didn’t get much explanations about Gin either except that he was abandoned in a forest when he was a child. Oh and also he can’t be touched by humans or else he will disappear. Now i have several questions about Gin. Right from the very start he saved Hotaru with the intention of saving a human and being friends with her, or so i thought until later near the end of the movie, we were shown a flashback of Gin holding Hotaru's hand (with a stick) when she was a child, and the dialogue was… i love you. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok. Ok. am i reaching if i think Gin, a teenager, was kinda creepy for liking this child (she was probably not older than 8 years old)? I mean he didn’t do anything creepy to her but he did ask will you come back again next year? Now, i thought, Gin was lonely, he needed a friend (it was stated that he longed for “human touch”) and it was shown as if he was the only human figure in that forest but guess what, after the festival scene we were shown that there were MANY ghosts that looked like human (hell it was even indistinguishable without the mask) so why would he want to be accompanied with a human child?
Also made me wonder why didn’t Hotaru visit Gin during winter break? There is winter break in Japan right? What stopped her from seeing him? And how the hell did Gin got all those clothes?? It was never explained how he got his winter clothes and yukata, wasn’t he a ghost anyway? Why would he feel cold? OH and i was confused by the logic of Gin’s appearance. It was said that he didn’t get any much older than he is now, but when he was left there in the forest he was a baby. How the hell did he grow into a teenager?
For being a calming anime this movie gave me lots of “huh?” and “what?” moments that it was hard for me to feel calm while watching it. Being a 45 mins long movie, the ending is quite rushed. We know from the start that Gin will die, not a surprise, but the way he died was hilarious. Ok so Gin and Hotaru went to a festival, because for whatever reasons these ghosts want to have one that is similar to humans (idk how they got all the stuffs to decorate and make this festival happen but ok), and get this, humans can visit the festival! So it wasn’t something that is only visible to the ghosts or whatever, humans can attend this festival and there was no way of telling the humans and ghosts apart if the ghosts didn’t put on a mask. Amazing right. And Gin, being the “if touched by human i will die” ghost that he is, wanted to attend this festival. Where he could get the risk of accidentally being touched or touching a human. Brilliant. Just from the scene where Gin asked Hotaru to attend the festival, we can guess that he will die there by following this logic. So his death scene was by no means sad or emotional, it was funny. At first i thought Hotaru will accidentally trip and touch Gin’s hand or whatever (i think this will be a better and funnier ending) but no his cause of death was Gin saving a kid for almost tripping! Woah, didn’t we see how Hotaru fell from a tree and Gin didn’t save her? Knowing the girl might die or got some bone fractures? So why would he care saving random kid THAT COULD BE A HUMAN from TRIPPING. GOD.
You know what, this will be at least 7/10 if Gin died after he kissed Hotaru. Like he had his final moments with her after the festival, felt happy and thought yeah this girl should move on from simping for a ghost and now is the time for me to let her go. Now that’s kinda emotional. But since they decided to go with the goofy plot, it kinda ruined the experience and emotional aspects of the movie. Still, this is not a bad movie, i’m just bored and ranting in reviews is fun. It is quite enjoyable if you watch this with your brain on airplane mode, just enjoy the pretty art and sound. I give this movie 6/10.

This movie is amazing. It made me feel so many emotions in just one sitting. I feel like i could really feel what Taeko was feeling, when her family bad-mouthed her for having a low score in math, her feeling uncomfortable about puberty, how hurtful it was to have a quarrel with your family, even her regret about her old friend.
Everything was portrayed beautifully with the amazing art and animation. This movie is also deeper than it looks, it teaches us about growing up, about human connections and about nature. It is so genuine and relatable too, the characters feel human and acted like
...
real people. So when Taeko had flashbacks about her childhood and how she added her comments after we jumped back to the present, we can truly feel the emotions of her and people that were involved in that story.
I thought this was gonna be boring because the plot is so simple, a girl going to the countryside to do farm works while reminiscing about her childhood, but i was wrong. It was a very pleasant experience to watch how genuine and relatable this anime is. This is the kind of movie that will be just as good if not even better from second watch, and for that reason i give this a 10/10.

im not good at writing in paragraphs so here goes:
-this anime is so mundane (there is no plot, just vibes)
-just girls doing witchcraft.. drawing pentagram and stuffs...
-everything is super wholesome! the characters are all very likeable because everyone is very chill
-it's a healing anime that you can watch to empty your brain
-idk how to explain it but as i said, it's so mundane. very slice of life. picking a random plant after school, following a cat, gardening, going to a cafe, eating breakfast, cooking during home economic class. literally just mundane everyday things. but it's very calming and fun to watch
-the op and ed is
...
good, i like the op better
-overall watching this was an enjoyable experience, i wanna rate it 10 or 9 but this anime is very plain so 8 is enough i think

this is just the kind of anime that im looking for! i love slice of life genre, and this one nails it. it's so atmospheric and relaxing, though kinda tense at first as i thought it was going to be darker than it is. i love almost everything about this movie. the characters are great, especially alice, she acts like a normal 14 yo girl. and her dynamic with hana? chefs kiss. the plot is decent too. basically about two girls bonding a friendship overnight. but these girls are so likeable, and the way they act is genuine.
i dont think the yuda part was
...
off putting or anything. yes it was kinda silly, but i can still sympathize with hana after hearing her explanation. i dont find this annoying at all. oh i also love the style of this anime, the background too! it looks pretty. the ed is also good and i cant stop listening to it.
i feel like i wont give this anime justice if i score it with anything below 10, but im not saying that this movie has no flaws at all. i also wish that i can see more of like fu chan (alice's friend who does ballet) and mutsumi (the one who claimed to get possessed by judah) dynamic with alice but oh well.
if you're a fan of slice of life genre and atmospheric anime, this one is totally for you.
(and if you have some anime recommendations with similar tone to this one please leave a comment on my page, i'd love to hear it)
