The story is great, art is very good, sound is very good, characters are great, and I enjoyed myself outstandingly so!
This isn't your normal action anime. It comes from the minds of the creators of Death Note, but don't go in expecting Death Note.
This is me just reviewing the first season, and so far I've fallen in love. The characters and story flow smoothly with one another. They aren't trying to rush the story their ultimately telling you.
Two high school kids who want to publish their own manga before graduating. It seems like a feat they won't be able to pull off, but they'll
...
try their hardest! That's what I love about this anime. These kids are pulling off things I wish I could do so easily, but the anime is still shining a light on reality with the story.
Overall, I give this series an 8. Stick around for season two and three!

The story is pretty good, the art is great, the sound is great, characters are fair, and I found myself somewhat enjoying this series.
But it gets very slow.
It's hard to enjoy this anime because it bounces back and forth a bit, and even though I loved every single character design in this anime, I didn't feel like there was much to take away from these characters.
If anything, after a second look, they all seemed... stale.
Still, overall I got a bit of enjoyment out of it. It's a creative story idea, I LOVED the first few episodes, but they try to cram waaay too much in.
...
It's best to go into this anime not with high hopes.
Overall, I give this a 7. It's good, but not award winning good. Which is sad, because it could've been if there story telling wasn't so jumpy and stuffed full of information.

The weak point of these special is more than likely the story- because there really is none. They are short little mini-sodes that are entertaining to watch, especially if you're like me and love these quirky characters.
There isn't much other point to watch them for though. It's really just to hold onto if you enjoyed this anime a lot. (Like you don't want to let go of the sweet taste yet that the main anime gave you, this can help prolong that taste.)
So, the best part about these specials is to just sit there and enjoy them for their short few minutes. Don't expect to
...
get an amazing plot when these are not even half as long as the usual anime episode.
Overall, I give these short specials a 9. And remember, story is the weakest point, but that is to be expected.

This short special has a special place in my heart. It brings more to the character of Kuro, and gives him a bit more depth. With this anime, I will always appreciate more character depth.
Otherwise, it doesn't bring much more to the series as a whole. If you've seen the anime, it's worth watching. Otherwise, watching a special about the anime doesn't work very well.
The art is a stunning as usual, the voices are perfect, and all together give a lot of enjoyment.
Overall, I rate this a 9. Please, if you've seen the anime, give this small special a go. You can easily
...
just skip it, but I suggest if you want to see more of Kuro, not skipping over this special.

I remember when I first watched this movie. I was in a puddle of tears after the ending, and I couldn't look at rabbits the same way anymore.
The movie is very enjoyable, assuming you've watched the anime or at least know what the anime is about. If not, this movie may come off as confusing.
Even then, the movie towards the middle does hit a rough patch and doesn't make as much sense. But if you get to the end, everything pieces together and makes sense once more. The art and sound is as great as usual. The story is original. Overall, I give this
...
movie a 9. Worth watching if you have seen the anime/know what it is about.

This anime may not be to the liking of many of you, in fact you might find it cliched and had already been done before. But I found this anime when I was just new to watching animes, and let me tell you- it still stands as my third favorite out of the seventy five I have completed.
Here's why:
(I will try to avoid spoilers the best I can!)
Story: 9/10
Yes, this may be your average story with your average main character, who sucks at school and has some daddy issues early on. But, I started this when I myself was just transitioning to middle school,
...
and this couldn't have made Rin anymore relatable! Minus the whole... what else he's got going on, hah. But struggling with school work, I gotta side with Rin on that. The story towards the end sort of goes off and doesn't really stick with the manga (I've heard they took a bit of a step back in the second season to remedy that. I haven't gotten around to really watching it yet though, so I'm not sure how reliable that info is.) It's such a different story though, Rin being the Son of Satan. He's the guy you would expect to be bad, but he isn't bad. Yet, everyone starts off not liking him, thinking he's evil or weird. Throughout the story, you can't help but root for him and for people to open their eyes! (Though, some might have a reason to be a bit afraid of Rin, but you'll know why if you watch the show!)
Art: 9/10
I love how squish-able their faces look, or how cute Rin is with his hair up in a hair clip, or just how adorable the cast can be in general. The zoomed out shots of the place they live in, every time I see them, it leaves me breathless. One day I hope to be able to draw the scenery like how they do.
Sound: 10/10
The Subbed version is enjoyable. The Dubbed version is enjoyable. (That's a win win right there!) I loved every single OST in this show, and still listen to them to this day!
Character: 8/10
This is the lowest I'll score on this series. There is some to be desired for the characters. They do take time to flesh them all out, but sometimes the way a character reacts to something... can really get under your skin. Like those moments in Romance animes where the main girl is literally TWELVE FEET away from the main guy, and all she has to do is GO HAND HIM A THING but instead she stands there, cries because of something tragic happening, then runs away. (I'm looking at YOU, Kimi ni Todoke. Still love the series though =3=). It just, they all have those dumb blonde moments you REALLY wish they wouldn't have. Because you know in your heart, what they're about to attempt is the absolute worst choice.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I binged this series, I loved it so much. I watched it in sub before the dub was out, then watched it in dub when it was released. I couldn't approve more of the dub. Some voices still match the character perfectly, while others, although different, still fit the attitude of the character. This is my third favorite anime for a reason.
Overall: 10/10
If you like a bit of cliche here and there, I highly recommend you watch this series. You've got your cute mascot and relaxed main character who does things that will surprise you. If you go into this with an open mind, you won't be disappointed.

Story: 8
Since I was just first starting out watching anime, this series was totally unique and cool to me. And it is still unique even now. I enjoyed the series and laughed and cried with the characters, which is especially hard to do in just 13 episodes. The story has stuck with me a long time, even though at times it seemed a little too fast, or maybe a little too slow. Otherwise, the story is just amazing.
Art: 9
A lot of times, I will watch a series because of its artwork, mainly because I can love any genre if its done right. (That, and I'm
...
pretty easily pleased.) The art is gorgeous. The character designs just drew me in when I was recommended this series.
Sound: 8
I thought the sound was very good. The music was wonderful and pleasing to the ear. It kept your attention in serious moments and in happy moments. I found myself very pleased.
Character: 7
A 7 is actually being a bit nice, considering this series had only 13 episodes to convey its emotions and plot to the viewers. It was hard to care about some characters in the beginning because they felt rushed. But still, when things started happening later, I grew more attached to the characters. Especially a certain few.
Enjoyment: 8
I enjoyed myself a lot. This was one of my first animes, and I don't regret watching it.
Overall: 8
Very good series which deserves to be watched by more people. You won't regret it.

To be very clear, it has been a little while since I have watched this series. When I saw it on my Netflix though, I quickly turned it on and re-watched the 13 episodes of sheer amazing art quality and enjoyed the characters once more. This anime sent me through a wave of emotion. Why? Well, let's see here.
Story: 9
I gave this story a 9 because it was greatly deserving of it. Just a little short of outstanding. The plot could be confusing every now and then, but in the end I felt they wrapped it up the best they could to fit those thirteen
...
episodes (main reason I'm waiting for season 2!). Another reason why I wish they would translate the manga to English already.
Art: 10
The art is simply MARVELOUS. Sure, it had some fan service with a certain girl we all know, but the lighting, the effects, oh my it was just stunning. I wish to be an animator, and this art... to animate something so beautiful... it would be an honor to one day do the same.
Sound: 9
I personally when I found out there was a dubbed, watched that after knowing the subbed voices. Neither version disappointed me. The Red King's raspy, bad boy voice made me so happy. I could almost say I like his voice better in dubbed, but his Voice Actor's do truly deliver and give us extra along the way. (Not to mention I found Yata's voice very fitting as well.) Sound effects, the battle scenes, made me feel like I was right there myself.
Character: 8
This will be my lowest rating. Why do I give the character's an eight? Well, for one, it kinda made me sad they didn't talk more about some of the background characters. (Like Eric and Chitose from the Reds as an example.) I did mention this earlier though, they did only have thirteen episodes. So I completely understand the focus not being on them (C'mon Season 2!) Yet, while I found they did relations with the Red King and Tatara very well, they didn't reveal a whole bunch about the Red King and Blue King and how they really knew each other. Why does the Blue King care for the Red King? Vice versa. This is referring later into the end of the series, so you'd have to watch it to know what I'm speaking of. Again though. Thirteen episodes. Completely understandable, but I still deduct two points.
Enjoyment: 10
I would watch this series over and over and over again! I love all the characters featured and how they are all connected! Ugh this show!
Overall: 9
Watch it. Seriously. You will enjoy this series so much if you liked the look of the synopsis.
After that, watch the movie.
And stick around for SEASON 2~!
