A brief intro to Angel Beats!: A boy named Otonashi died. He wakes up seeing a pretty girl carrying a huge sniper gun trying to shoot someone. That girl, Yurippe, wants to recruit him into her Afterlife Battlefront that fights against God, and a mysterious girl named "Angel".
Before I start my review, I would like to say that I watched AB! back to back, with not that much of a pause, so I might be inaccurate with some details. Also, as a review writer, going by my usual rating system, I would've given this a straight 10. However, after some thought about it, I
...
realized that AB! really is an 8 to me. So with that aside, here we go.
The story: I thought that it was really nice. From the first episode 'Departure' to 'Graduation', I thought that the story was good. Even so, this isn't a 10 story. In fact, I rated it an 8. It's not that the story was bad, but the pacing and some aspects of it made the rating drop. It has some cliche parts to it, like how there is an OP antagonist and all the 'good guys' are trying to stop her. However, seeing how little anime experience I have, I thought that the story overall was unique. I had never seen the afterlife like that before. There is no supernatural monster. There was no 'trying to get out of it' that seems to pop up in some animes. Instead, we get a slice-of-(after)life that revolves around children each battling 'God' because of their past. It was an interesting take on it, and the idea is nice.
Now onto the pacing. Now, I've heard that AB! was supposed to be a 26 episode anime. I personally think that it would've been loads better if it was. AB! squishes information into you the first three episodes, then never mentions it again. It was extremely fast-paced, and left me with questions that I still wanted answers too.
The Art: Not the best thing I have ever seen, but it is very nice. I rated this a 9, partly because of all the detail the artists put into the minor things, like when the lead guitarist (I forget her name) plays, her hands are actually in the right place. Also, the shadows of the characters are in the right place, not all over the place like I have seen some anime do.
Overall, the art was very nice.
The Sound: I love it. The opening, "My Soul, Your Beats" is amazing. I love it. I have only skipped it once or twice when I was tight on time. Also the ending "Brave Song" really sets the mood for some episodes. I thought the sound was a ten.
The Characters were an 8. This is because since the show was so rushed, there was not much character development. In the beginning, some characters act a interesting way, and the creators just cover it up and say "No one knows this" and just let it go. Sometimes, they give you some extra information about a character, then just ignore it fr the rest of the show, or just cover it up by saying that the character is a moron. This led to some confusion for me, as I tried to absorb everyone's personality, but fail too.
Also, the back stories for some characters were heartbreaking. Every person in that world went through some tragic ending. However, they really only give four or five back-stories, some they don;t even explain fully. Now, this isn't that bad, but I would have a lot less questions if they gave the full story. The creators also neglect some characters back story all together, making me wonder what happened to them.
However, these characters are all very likable that each are like family to the other. Each ine has a personality that for the most part, refuses to change. Even so, they were human. I felt that the characters I saw in AB! I could also see in real life. Each one had a weakness, instead of just being super OP.
The enjoyment was 8 as well. I saw through all of it, and it was an incredible ride. Some part made me literally stop the video just so I could laugh, and some parts had me sitting there, stunned. I remember one of my family members remarking that in the span of two seconds, i went from a laughing mess, to a quiet, solemn person. AB! was pretty awesome, and had me thinking about life in a deeper way when I finished it.
Overall, it was an 8. I would recommend this to anyone, even those who might not like this genre.
Well, that's it. Thanks for reading. I hope you give Angel Beats! a try.

What is it that you most desire? Money? Power? But...are you willing to give your life for that one wish? That's what magical girls have to do. Spent their whole lives fighting witches in exchange for that one wish. To Madoka, this seems like the perfect chance, fight for justice while looking cool in the process! However, as she journeys deeper into this world of magical girls, she learns that being a magical girl isn't all that it seems.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a very fresh and interesting look on magical girls. At the first episodes, I thought it was the sailor moon type
...
anime, but boy, was I WRONG.
After the third episode, I literally had to sit down and think about what THE HELL just happened. The third episode was amazing, and it just keeps getting better, When I think everything is happy again, this show just goes ahead and wrecks it. And my feels start pouring again. But, that's what I really like about this show. Plot twists fly around, blowing my mind EVERY.TIME.
Rarely do I find an anime with so many plot twists, but still manages to tie them all back together to make sense. That's what Madoka Magica manages to do. Everything makes sense, and left me with almost no questions.
The character are well-rounded and HUMAN. I have seen anime characters with just one personality that refuses to change. Happy-go-lucky characters stay happy-go-lucky, cool mysterious characters stay that way. Madoka Magica, however, change things. The main character Madoka, seems like the weak, annoying main character. But after the last episode, I realized just how mature she really was, and how there was more to her than I thought. Also, tops to my favorite character, Homura, who has an amazing story. In the beginning, I hated her. I thought she was the party pooper. But as her story was slowly revealed she become so much more real and got me to fall in love her in later episodes.
Hats off to the music as well, the song when Mami is fighting is AMAZING, and the OPs and EDs are awesome too. This anime was one of the few that I didn't skip the OPs and EDs like I usually do.
Overall, I loved this story. The ending was amazing, and I loved it. Never again will I look at magical girls the same way again. Please try it out. Your mind will be blown.

I usually don't review unless I really enjoyed it enough that I have to get the rest of the world to watch it as well. This was my first manga I ever finished. I finished the anime first, since I'm more of a anime person, then went to the manga and read it all. Now, I'll just say that I've tried that with MANY animes, saw them, then tried to read their mangas. Most of them didn't draw me in. I know, I'm missing out. It's like comparing a movie to a book, but still.
Anyways, my point is, this was AMAZING! I literally pulled
...
an all-nighter just to finish it, and when I did, I wanted to cry, because I didn't know what to do with my life anymore.
The story was amazing. For those of you that watched the anime, it pretty much follows the story line, with some extra things. But I loved the concept. Teito was just so adorable!
The art was pretty good as well! The military clothes are so PRETTYYYYY.
Also, the characters were so amazing. They really are a bunch of colorful, amazing, people that bring 07-ghost to life. Te bad guys, I hated, but learned to accept, and Teito and his friends, I was cheering them on the whole time.
I enjoyed this so much! As I said before, I didn't sleep for this, it was that good.
Overall, I loved it. he lessons in 07 Ghost were DEEP. And the ending was just so amazing.
I'm going to go sit in my fan-girl corner and freak out about it again.
Thanks for reading~

I loved it. It was amazing. Now, I'm kinda new to MAL, so I'm not really sure HOW to write a review, so comments are helpful! :)
Now, I'm the type that likes supernatural and action types of anime. I never really enjoyed romances and slice-of-life, because they seem to always end with a happy ending. I guess...with my experiences, I know that life isn't easy. 5 Centimeters Per Second captured life perfectly. I got so many feels in it that I cried. The story was so realistic, that I can imagine it happening.
The ART, IT WAS AMAZING. I loved it, the gentle warm colors
...
crashes with the hard, dark colors perfectly. Even though at one point I wanted to go back to my action anime part of me and quit, the art got me hooked. It is beautiful, and made the message of the story so much deeper.
The sound was enjoyable. At the ending, I cried so much, that song fit in so well with the story. I never really noticed what the sound was like, because I'm the type that skips the openings to get to the anime >.
