A Silent Voice the movie is honestly one of my favorite movies and one of my favorite manga. After reading the manga during my college year I had to find the movie but could not find it sadly so I was left with a hole inside me trying to figure out what I should do to fill it. Thus 6 months later and I finally see... It filled that hole but did not completely. I won't give any big spoilers if anything they'll be very very minor spoilers but I'll try to keep spoilers to 0 as much as possible, now let's get to it.
Story:
...
The movie does an amazing adaptation of the manga from beginning to end but does cut some parts out which I noticed right of the bat. Some I could see why and others I couldn't. One was a major part of the story which developed multiple characters and even made it the reason why certain things honestly happened but I can see why they couldn't because of budget and probably time constraint. I still came out of it with a big ol' smile and good amount of tears dropped along the way. So I give this part an 8/10
Art: I don't know much about art but I can that the animation is extremely good for Silent Voice. The second I started it I saw right of the bat that the animation was top notch. The sign language was really smooth and just... the art was... it left speechless it was just Amazing. Everything was delivered well art wise and everything along with sign language, background, facial expressions, everything. I may know very little about art but I can say that This movie is a 10/10 when it comes to animation and everything inbetween when it comes to art.
Sound: The sound was really something... I mainly remember 2 or 3 tracks during the movie 2 of which being at the end of the movie. The voice acting on the other hand was amazing. The voice actors delivered every line with emotion and most of all they fit the characters. I have to give Ishida's and Nishimiya's Voice Actors did grade A work voicing those characters. I'll give sound 9/10
Characters: Well... seeing as how they cut some stuff out from the story it kind of left a few characters flat... A few of which being important to the story and the protagonist. It is probably obvious which characters fell flat and which ones didn't. But once again I can see why they cut it out since it is focused on these two characters along with budget and time constraint. So the characters get a 7/10. The ones who fell flat still had some if not very little character to them but also the voice actors did an amazing job as well.
Enjoyment: I loved it... It made me cry more than it should which is great because I've been wanting to see this movie back in November of last year when I finished the manga. I enjoyed every bit of it, I never saw or even felt myself hating the movie one bit. I was smiling the entire and still cried even if I read the manga it still made me happy... You'll feel something from this movie and it won't be disappointment it might depression, or sadness, or happiness, or something along those lines, but it wont be disappointment. So I'll give MY enjoyment a 10/10
Overall: Well if the numbers say 8 Story, 10 Art, 9 Sound, 7 Character, 10 Enjoyment, it'd get something like an 8 or 9... well... Screw it I'm giving it a 10 because this movie is a 10/10 movie. My enjoyment through it was what was more important to me than anything else... Yeah it took stuff out but that's to be expected... I'm happy Ishida,Nishimiya, and the rest of the characters are smiling and everything is good... A happy ending... Happily after... 10/10 Overall... I recommend this movie and the manga... ESPECIALLY THE MANGA! Go read and buy the manga.
*edit* I forgot to mention the the movie didn't fill the hole in my heart after finishing the manga about 6 months ago... it just slowly made the hole bigger as I watched the movie.
