From the start, I knew this anime wasn’t going to make it into my top 10 of anything. I noticed right away that it was low-budget, with cheap CGI shortcuts, but I didn’t expect to end up disliking it this much.

The plot is a slow, boring mess, with details thrown in randomly and no real purpose. I was initially going to rate it a 5, since it’s technically average, but I could only make it through by watching at 3.00x speed—just to get it over with. Even at that speed, I was bored and actually wished it would go faster. If I have to watch ... something sped up just to tolerate it, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to any regular viewer.

The ironic part? This is supposed to be an action anime, but it’s so slow and pointless that by episode 7, I was asking, where is the spice? And that’s big coming from me, because I typically enjoy slow-paced, no-drama, no-action anime! For this one to make me crave something to happen was truly the limit of my patience.

I honestly don’t know how this anime has a 6 rating on the platform. Looking back, I’m not sure why I forced myself to continue—dropping it would’ve saved me time. Overall, I’d give it a 4/10 and say skip it; there are far better ways to spend your time!

Honestly, I wished the whole anime would just end in one season, but since the main goal isn’t resolved yet, ... I guess I’ll have to sit through another mediocre season to see if my guess on the ending is correct. I could go ahead and read the manga, but honestly, I don’t think it’s worth the time. 🤷‍♂️ This anime has potential, but the execution felt low-budget in ways that didn’t work. There are definitely other low-budget anime that still manage to pull off their plots much better.

Anyway, I’m rambling—but for now, I’d say Isekai Shikkaku had its moments, even if it didn’t quite hit the mark.

This entire anime feels like fan service in a box with a cute ribbon on top… and yes, I unfortunately loved every second of it and unfortunately want more! 😂 It’s quirky, it’s silly, and honestly, watching a half-bald human-angel-bird was not on my agenda today, but here we are! If you’re into romance anime with a wacky sense of humor, you’ll definitely want to give this a watch.

Nevertheless, for fans of isekai adventures with impressive artwork, this anime is still worth considering, as long as one is willing to overlook the flawed romantic aspect.

The plot twists in every episode were unexpected and ... kept me engaged in the story, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the anime turned out to be.

The characters in the anime were also a pleasant surprise. I found myself rooting for Nagomi and Ranko Mannen as they navigated the violent and chaotic world of maid cafés in Akihabara. Nagomi's innocence and determination were endearing, while Ranko's maturity and strength were admirable. Despite the seemingly messy and chaotic nature of the anime, the characters were well-developed and likable.

However, the ending of the anime left me feeling disappointed. It felt rushed and left me with more questions than answers. I wish the ending had been more satisfying, as I was invested in the story and characters.
