"Is this bait and switch for real?" should be the actual title.
Spoilers ahead-
I'll not go into much detail about the manga, aside from one very large annoyance:
The ending.
Imagine reading your typical fantasy story, you got your hero, your princess that he saves from the demon lord, and his funny sidekick thief or whatever.
...
Now imagine him fighting the demon lord, just as he is about to strike the last blow...
the sidekick jumps in, critical hits the boss to oblivion, turns on his heel, dashes past the dumbfounded hero and ploughes the princess in front of him.
Well, not thaaat extreme, but it's what i felt at the end of this manga.
Instead of going with a unorthodox relationship which the entire story built up to, the main dude just chooses a sidegirl that barely came up.
Not only was it established multiple times that he has a thing for older ladies, and that he only sees the other girl as a little sister, the story also outright told us that the main characters have feelings for each other.
It also doesn't help that for some reason, almost every character that appeared had a relationship at the end, aside from our main heroine.
Heck, even the gay dude and that lesbian chick found somebody... even though they suddenly turned straight, which raised my eyebrow.
Making a story about a older girl who never dated, and then end it on a "Hah, she still didn't get any, PSYCHE" note.

It's quite rare for me to bother to write a review, and i won't go as far as to call this a proper review, as i've not finished the manga.
See it as a bit more than a warning; If you have enjoyed the prequel to this one, and wanted more of that; Well, You won't get it here.
If you search for the similar light hearted, slightly ecchii teasing of a pair of stepsiblings, with some more interesting characters on the side, and occasional serious moments... well, You won't get it here.
If instead you read the first manga and wished "Oh boy, if only they'd almost
...
screw each other all the time", eventually even wondering if this one has been made by a entirely different person; Well, you might find enjoyment with it.
As for me? I am angry.
Not only because the first manga was so good, and i just wanted more of that, and not see these likeable characters gutted just to have them whore them out (Going from slight teasing to "Hey, let me jerk you off 20 times a night!"... no, i am not kidding)
But also because i won't be able to ask the author "Why did you change it so much from the first one?"
What else is there for a review checklist?
Ah right, the Artstyle was changed, and gets significantly worse. (I checked the last few chapters to see if something changed, but nah, they just dropped all plot entirely)
Characters have had total makeovers, and are barely recognizable (even more so because of the new artstyle)
The story development just stops along the road.
Well, that's all i have to say at this point. Now excuse me, while i try to shake of this dissapointment.
Did i forget anything? I don't think so.

Now, before i start this review i want to say that i won't be enable to write one that would justify the cheer amazingness of this anime.
I'll start by saying something i say to every single person i recommend this anime to,
"Even if you don't like magical girl stuff, keep watching it".
I myself am not a big fan of the magical girl genre, and i was redundant to start Madoka magica but after realizing that it comes from the same mind as Fate/zero, Saya no Uta etc i just had to start it.
Now, i won't talk about the story since everything more would be a
...
spoiler i guess.
-Art-
The art, while maybe looking weird at first, as very unique "childisch chalkdrawning" style to it, which is fairly unique and fits perfectly to the whole theme.
-Sound-
The sound, expecially the music, is just awesome.
Rarely one day passes where i don't listen to some pieces of it while playing or doing chores.
It's tunes go from "happy to go" to "uttermost dark", which really captures one and amplifies the feel of the story.
-Character-
Yet again it is hard to say anything about this without spoiling, so let me just say: The character progression is amazing, and it really drags you along and makes you sympathy with them.
-Enjoyment-
To say that i enjoy Madoka Magica would probally make people who know the anime go
"You sadistic fuck", but in the way it captured me i can't say anything else.
Short summary, i think Madoka Magica is a absolute masterpiece of japanese animation.
No anime i've yet watched managed to keep me on the edge on my seat the way Madoka Magica did, nor made me think about the story that much.
So, if you haven't watched it yet... what are you doing wasting your time reading this review?
Go, and watch it!
