Considered by many the best manga in the world with "deep" themes and "mature" content. And it is true to some extent, but not in that overwhelming manner. I would probably rate everything up until actual Berserker armor is introduced as a 10, but then everything starts to fall apart. True, there are some really good chapters in the later parts of Berserk, but after reading through it two times - it feels more like a slog more than anything. Anything concerning "Neo Band of the Falcon(Hawk)" is especially infuriating. If it continues on like this (if it even continues, 3 chapters per
...
hiatus really tells how much Miura dislikes his own story) - it will only get worse.

Most people will tell you it's not a masterpiece and does not deserve a 10. But for me personally - it hit all the right notes so i just can't give it anything less. This is not a show for everyone, even some of the most "hardcore" people may find last few episodes to be relally damn hard. Berserk or EVA were never THAT hard. But al this "edgyness" and horrific violence mixed with sex are not here just for the sake of it. Everything playes it's part in the story, which is really damn good, if you ask me.
Sound design here
...
is the right kind. Every note of every track just brings all the right emotions and fits every scene. It's not a blockbuster music, which always sounds epic, but you can't remember a single not after a few hours. This is the kind of electronic beast, that just screams "LOOK AT THIS BLOODY ACTION!" , "ALL HAPPINESS IS GOING TO DIE IN YOU" and stuff liek that, you know.
Hell, not much i can tell beyond that. I'm not an anime critic, i just watch what i may find interesting. And indeed this was interesting. But really, if you don't have a really strong gut - you'll probbly be better off not watching this series.

Not only a bad adaptation of Berserk, but a horrible anime overall. Can only recommend this piece of shit to people without taste, they seem to like it.
Story - 4\10. And those 4 points exist only because i'ts an adaptation of Kentaro Miura's Magnum Opus and has some ok'ish points. But's it's so butchered - it's impossible to give it even one more point. ALL character development was cut in favour of 360 MEGA SUPER PRO ACTION, which i will talk later.
Art - 1\10. It's so pathetic i don't know, if i want to talk about
...
it. Neither the director, nor the animtors themselves know, what the hell they were doing. It seems, like they just looked up word "art" and "action" on wikipedia and tried to make a show out of that. Needless to say - they failed to deliver. Absolutelly horrendous animation, unbearable 3d models of literally everything and shitty shadows do it's best to make you puke.
Oh, and i forgot about the "best" part - every damn fight (which is about 90% of this adaptation) is 360 NOSCOPE shot from the blade of Gut's sword Dragonslayer. + terrible montage makes it impossible to even witness those fights. They are literally cut out for faster pacing. For example: A guy throws a large stone on the group of heroes. It would be safe to assume, that we'll be shown, how they avoid it. ANd in this show they simply skip next 5 seconds to the point, where said stone destroyed a wall. It feels like someone developed King Crimson for "reasons".
Sound - 4\10. Just like with the story, those 4 points only exist because of a treasure, that is Susumu Hirasawa. And imagine what? They destroyed even his music with this terrible show. Don't get me wrong, his ONLY song, which plays in almost every fight scene in great, but it just doesn't fit in with marionettes efortless fights. Like i mentioned, Hirasawa only made one track for this new anime, and oh boy the studio loved it. A bit too much, to say the least. They used it everywhere they could, and where they couldn't - they used their own shitty metal, which desn't seem to fit either.
Every damn scene in this abomination has some sort of a theme. There are literally no quiet moments, no suspence, no thrill. It's just afraid of being "empty", being a full trashcan in result.
And don't forget *CLANG* of Dragonslayer. It cut's metal - CLANG, people - CLANG, monsters - CLANG, ghosts - CLANG and so on. It's the only noise it makes. Why? Is it really THAT hard to record any other suound?
Character - 3/10. Like i said in the "Story" part - there is no character development. They skipped all of them just to get more of that "action".
Hell, i can't enjoy Gut's being badass, because his 3d-model looks like a fucking banana. And there is no reason for him doing, what he does. Why does he want to save Casca? "WHO CARES? LET'S GET MORE 360-SHOTS!" Why does he reject religion in any way, makes fun of it? "BLAH-BLAH-BLAH!"
Enjoyment - 1\10. Do i really need to say why it's so low? So yeah, i was about to rear my hair and rip my own eyes out.
Overall - 2\10. You can say, that even with such horrendous art and butchered story it should be like 1-2 points higher. Perhaps, but i don't want to encourage makers of this shit any more, than i should. I don't know how things really are, but i think the director was the biggest reason it sucks so much. There is no sence of direction, over 12 episodes you have no idea, where this is going and why. They tried their hardest to fail. They REALLLY tried to fail and on that - it delivers. GOOD JOB ON FUCKING THINGS UP!
I am sorry for my harsh language and kind of avarage english. I hope you understood, what i tried to say and why i said, what i did. Please don't give this piece of shit any praise just because it's an adaptaion of Berserk. By this you are just spitting on potential quality.

I can't find anything this anime lacks. Its great adventure story with great cahracters nad only minus i can find is lack of any ending... Thats the problem with making animes of ongoing manga and novels. I felt really tired both physically and mentally. I wanted to wathc like 1 or 2 episodes and ended up completing it. I REALLY liked everything about it, but lack of any ending really hurts my feelings. If ending doesn't really matter to you and you want to rest - this is a great choise and i recommend watching it.
...........I don't know how to extend my review, so
...
i'll just write things in here........
1)Don't expect dark, dramatic, deep story from this, it's not hte point;
2)Try relaxing and enjoing great sond and animation;
3)Enjoy its characters, even though there is an obvious trap...;
4)DO NOT expect satisfying ending, just don't;
5)Try watching it like i did, in one or to runs, it just feels better this way.
Sooo, i hope this in enough text for mal to accept it, so i'll be off. Have a good day!

Story - 6\7
So story is over-the-top as you can get - SPOILER[alien clothes, which control people for some reason] END OF SPOILER and main protagonist seeking revenge for the death of her father. Ehh, besides all PLOT-TWISTS Shamalanian style its really "meh". And sudden plot holes for no reason, just to be "savage" don't help it either. I really can't find anything else to say about it. Oh, second half is good, thats why its as high as 6. So if you can - skip first half and go to episode 16 or so.
Art - 5\8
Studio Trigger ether loves terrible art or just tries
...
to get as much as possible from nothing. I would consider this art good only if this was much lesser studio. BUT it gets progressibly better towards the end of the series.
Sound - 7
Can't tell much of it. Its not terrible and some themes are quite good.
Character - 7\8
Every single character is over-the-top is his own way and its good... kinda. Its cool at first, but gets repetetive as time goes on. Well at least everyone has distinguished personality, so its ok.
Enjoyment - 5\8
It took me alot of time to finish it(like a year), because first half was so boring i couldn't get myself to watch further. I actually finished the anime just to write this review. Second half is alot better then the first. (5 is rating for the first half)
Overall - 8
I wouldn't say anime is bad, but it still has nothing really special about it. If you point out the plot - similar stuff was already made, art - TTGL did it much better like 7 years prior. Good anime anyway, second half is definetly worth watching.

Best shonen anime i ever saw. Everything about it is superior to other anime.
Story - 10
Story follows adventure of two 12-years old boys around the world. While it may seem childish and stupid at start - story is actually really dark, which contrasts with show's artstyle.
Art - 10
This is MadHouse. Do i even need to say anything else? As i already said, there is a great contrast with dark story of the show.
Sound - 10
Sound is outstanding from show's OP to its ED including every single theme and voise actor choices(jap). I can't say more, you just have to hear it.
...
Character - 10
There are ALOT of outstanding characters, with somewhat of a main antagonist Hisoka leading them. Every character is fully developed through the show, everyone has own opinion and there are no actually annoing cahracters(for me, can't say fro someone else).
Enjoyment - 10
Every aspect of this show is Outstanding, dialogues are well-written, fights are well-directed and sound choices only add to their enjoyment.
Overall - 10
This IS the best shonen anime ever. I already told, why i love it and why 10 is well-deserved. Of course, everything is subjective and i may have told less than i should've said.
P.S. : Sorry, if you didn't understand something, writing in english is not my strong side.

This is the only anime i've ever seen without ANY flaws. it is just perfect. You might not like artstyle or story based of your own preferences, but even so you jsut can't deny its good. Story is set in medival Japan, yet it has nothing to do with real history. It follows Shichika Yasuri and in general his story is almsot the same with every shonen protagonist. But that doesn't make it any worse. His growth as a character is seen in all 12 episodes of epicness. (BTW, he's not a bitch-protagonist, like a shonen character, so you don't have to see same thing
...
over and over again). You may not like my review, i am not really skilled with words, but i absolutely would recomend this series to anyone, who's not against fighting in anime.
