Mixed Feelings
After seeing Battle of gods, I wasn't very eager to watch Fukkatsu no F. I was expecting something similar (meaning something hardly good), but I have to say I've been even more disappointed.

The major problem for me is that Toriyama and his team went further in the contradiction with the original Dragon Ball universe and lore. I won't spoil uselessly, but some characters like Gohan or Frieza, in this movie, are completely irrelevant/illegitimate in terms of everything. In fact they took the DBZ universe and adapted it to whatever they wanted, whether or not it was logical considering the original series.

Moreover, (spoiller alert), we have ...

Gunbuster is quite special and weird.
The first episode is anecdotic, then the 3 other following are from my point of view just fair. The last 2 are however good, even excellent.

But it's hard to give more than 6/10 with just 2 interesting episodes. More, I didn't like how Anno was always showing naked girls or partially naked. I know in some situations it can have a specific impact, but most of the time it was just used to show boobs, which is quite weird when it's made in a casual way or in a serious situation.

Also the characters aren't that great. Almost in every episode ...

I'm somehow deceived.

When we learned the third season was cancelled and replaced by a movie, I was worried, but I thought (I hoped) the movie would be long and explaining the whole ending. But they didn't even do it this way.

Though I didn't read the manga yet, I've watched all the anime (both seasons and the 1st movie), so I was at least expecting to understand the movie. Well, I understood it, but it's not explaining the whole thing at all. It really feels like the movie is getting directly to the end, with almost no connection with the rest of the anime. Some situations ...

My opinion is kind of separated in two opposed thoughts.

The first one is that Kids on the slope is a really beautiful anime about music, and especially jazz. The ost is awesome, the different sessions between the characters are amazing, and the different renditions of some of the legendary jazz songs are all excellent.
Each time Kaoru and Sentarou was about to play, I knew I was going to enjoy the thing. Not only the music was amazing, but the way it was used is fascinating. The characters were using music to express their feelings, providing various and colorful renditions of a same song whitin the ...

Sometimes I just want to disconnect my brain and watch something funny that doesn't require any reflexion. And I have to say this series pretty much granted my wish.

I liked how these girls can say silly jokes almost every minute, and this made me laughed along with some other things (Tsuda's reactions, Tsuda's sister always speaking of her brother in a sexual way...). I also liked the fact that this anime didn't get into the trap of being too ecchi, I think it helped to get more funny situations rather than showing boobs and all every time.

That's why I rated the first season 7/10. However, ...

Summer Wars (Anime) add
When I've read the synopsis of this movie, I was thinking it was essentially about internet issues. But after watching the whole thing, I realize it's basically a family movie about how family is important and how together we can pass through difficulties.

So I didn't dislike it, the animation and all was good and I kind of enjoyed it. But I was clearly expecting the plot to concentrate on internet issues, and from this point of view I can't help but to be disappointed. Since this seems not to be the topic of the movie, the internet aspect (through the OZ system, the virtual/real life) ...

I can't say I didn't like this anime but I can't say either from my point of view that it was excellent.
It sure is a beautiful and sad story, the kind that make you laugh and cry at the same time. But I can't help thinking that it could have been better in many ways.

I think the show is sometime too dramatic or maybe too childish. What makes me say that is the fact that the characters are always crying (I feel like it ended up being too "weepy") and that the dialogues were sometimes too simple, nay simple-minded. I think this anime could have ...

Planetes (Anime) add
It's hard to summarize this anime in one word. To be honest, it bored me at the beginning, but I loved the second part.
The first one isn't very interesting (from my point of view). It brings up the subject, the characters, but it was kind of superficial. No aim, little stories not so interesting... I almost gave up on watching this anime, but I forced myself considering some comments saying it was going to be more interesting.

It was pretty long but I admit, it was worth it. Quietly, the story came up with interesting issues, describing what's going to be likely our futur. Space debris, ...

In my opinion, this movie is not particularly bad, but there is for me two problems I can't put aside.

First of all, and this is something recurring in DBZ movies, the logic of the original manga isn't followed, especially about power level. It might look like a fanboy complaint, but I undertake the critic. Why did Gohan is so lame? Why SSJ2 Vegeta is way stronger than Gohan? Why Buu is defeated in one hint? These questions have no response, and it's somehow a shame. The fact is due to commercial issues, Toriyama didn't follow his own story logic, and it turned the movie into ...

It's not easy to adapt such a strange concept into a movie. But whoever did it, they managed to keep (at least) the spirit of the game. Watching this movie makes you feel soothed and give you a smile you keep all along.

It's not really a great movie though. The story is kinda predictable, even boring considering the very slow pace of the movie. But, maybe by some spell cast on you, you end up appreciating this little moment in this little village with these little and cute characters. Especially when the ost comes from the game..

And that's why we love Animal Crossing.
