Alright. I haven't written a review on an anime in so long but this one really caught my attention.
DISCLAIMER- There may be spoilers up ahead, minor or major. So here's a heads's up. You can skip to the bottom to read my overall rating for this series.
Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni/ In another world with my smartphone
The whole premise of this series starts with Mochizuki, Touya. He dies right in the beginning of the series (reminds me of KonoSuba) But he was actually not meant to die at the moment.
So God/Kami spoke to his soul and offered Touya to be
...
resurrected in a fantasy world. Touya accepts this offer. God also offered Touya to bring with him one item when going into this world.
You guessed it, he brought his phone with him. That, and an overpowered affinity for magic and combat. But hey, that's not unusual anymore. Let's be real.
Let's go ahead and take this step-by-step, shall we?
Story and Character- 6
Honestly, it's very similar to KonoSuba. The way the MC's die and are reincarnated into fantasy worlds. The differences are very few in between if we look at it. However, Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni does have a bit serious vibe to it. Not /too/ serious, but it has a healthy mix of seriousness and comedy.
Some of the things that do transpire, however, do seem to be cliche at times. The character archetypes present are also the common ones we see. The MC is rather bland, though there are times where he does shine.
It is rather interesting to see Touya, being an entity from a technological civilization, interact with people are not very advanced as of yet. There are those funny moments where people see ice cream or bicycles for the first time and they are ecstatic about them. So I give this series points for that.
This series is hardcore going for that harem route. Why? Because apparently, in their world, having multiple partners is A-Okay. That seems to fix the whole "you can only choose one of us" thing that is common in harem anime. Everyone wins in this series.
But because of that, there won't be any interesting conflicts and character interactions since they'll all end up with the MC anyway.
Art and Sound- 6
The art style for Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni is not the best, but not bad either. There are some times where the character's eyes are too close to each other, or his/her shoulder is too big than it supposedly is. But aside from that, it is very vibrant and they do have some attention to facial expressions. Good for them.
The VA's did a nice job for voicing the characters according to their archetypes. The shy one sounded shy. The tsundere sounded like a tsundere. I do not have any complaints here.
I was not very attached to the OP and the ED of this series. It's neither good or bad. It's right in the middle for me. I do have this one gripe about the video, however. There is one sequence where the girls show off their power and stuff during the OP. During Yae's sequence, there was a lack of "oomph" to it. All the other girls looked powerful while Yae just ran at the enemy and.. slapped them? Yeah. That's kinda bs to me.
Overall Enjoyment- 6.5/10
If you're tired of the whole "transported into a fantasy world" plot, then maybe this series is not for you. But if you do take the time to watch it, it's surprisingly enjoyable despite the many cliche's found in it. Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni is not a total waste of your time, guaranteed.

Photokano is one of the few anime I know that are depicted in the omnibus format; the other 2 being Amagami SS and Yosuga no Sora. I was pretty surprised. It was better than I thought it would be, but it could still use some work.
Story: 8
What can I say? The series is based on a dating sim. The story is that of the typical dating sim game plot. But how the protagonist started his whole romance life because of a hand-me-down camera his dad gave him was original, as far as I'm concerned. Other than that, the rest is pretty standard:
1.
...
Talk to the girl
2. Earn her friendship
3. Find out her life problem
4. Fix whatever the problem is
5. Falls in love
Art: 6 / Animation: 7
Honestly, the art could have used some work. It isn't exactly a pain to look at, nor is it appealing in any way. But it's just fine the way it is, and te art doesn't falter. Animation is pretty decent too.
Sound: 6
Nothing special to note here. The OP was alright, but it wasn't catchy. The voice acting is okay. But other than that, no complaints on the sound.
Enjoyment: 9
I love me a good romance story, so my score here might be a little biased. Omnibus format anime are hard to come across, and there are only 2 good ones (Ones mentioned above) After seeing the outcome of the story, you'll want to find out what happens in the next story. I guess that's where most of the enjoyment lies.
Overall: 8
If you want a serious anime with a good amount of drama and romance, this one isn't exactly for you. It's a light-hearted romance story involving multiple in alternate stories. The art and sound aren't that notable. If you loved Amagami SS, this one bears many similarities (But won't be as good) and I'm sure you'll like it too.

May contain spoilers.
Sasami-san@Ganbaranai/Sasami-san@unmotivated is about Sasami Tsukuyomi, a 16-year old shut-in who relies heavily on her brother, Kamiomi Tsukuyomi who has an intense love for her, exceeding that of sibling love. The story revolves around them, and the three Yagami sisters: Tsurugi, Kagami and Tama.
Now, when I watched the first two episodes, I was like "What the f*ck is happening?" I mean, everything turning into chocolate? A 30-year old woman in a kid's body wielding a sword? A cyborg? A hot 9-year old that can jump real high and stuff? It'll really put you in a situation where you don't know what is
...
going on. Now some of you might drop it after the first episode. But don't.It gets better, and eventually everything makes sense.
Apparently, Sasami holds the power of Amaterasu in her body, and has the ability to alter everything around her according to her liking. And the Yagami sisters are gods as well. Tsurugi was originally Amatersau who passed down her power to a distant ancestor of Sasami. Kagami was a fallen god who was turned into a cyborg and later on raised by Tsurugi. And Tama is a new generation god made by Tsurugi.
But some parts didn't make any sense.
I liked the story. It didn't make any sense at first, but as it goes, you'll start understanding what's going on. And I liked the characters too. I like how perverted Tsurugi is. And how silent-tsundere Kagami is. But I have to say my favorite is Kamiomi because of his mysterious background and lively nature.
I have to say that the art was...different from other anime I've seen. Different in a good way. It almost had a water color-like feel to it and I was really mesmerized by it. Animation was smooth and had no signs of dropped quality anywhere. There's nothing special to point out about the sound. Though it is a little funny when the ending song starts. (Find out yourself ;D)
Sasami-san@Ganbaranai gets a 9 from me because, even though I didn't understand anything at first, and despite having some parts no making sense at all, everything made sense later on and will make you ask for more and wonder what'll happen next. You might drop it at first, but I advice that you don't. Trust me. You won't regret it.

For some reason, I had to write a review for this anime.
Akikan! is has to be the worst anime (by comparison) I've watched so far. I'm not saying it's bad; not at all. It does have its good points, but only a few. I'm actually quite disappointed in it.
Story= 7
The story is about juice/soda cans transforming into girls once you take a sip out of them, and have magic powers based on what their drink is. When I was first introduced to the story, I thought "What the hell?" Well, I'll give it a good score for originality. It's weird, but original. So,
...
in a sense, it's a good thing.
Art/Animation= 5
The art scores the lowest for me. I was a little weirded out by how the characters were drawn. One of the factors of making a good anime is good character art. And Akikan! failed at making any appeals whatsoever. The main protagonist Daichi, Kakeru looks a lot better in the manga than in the animated version. Animation could use some work too, but it isn't that bad.
Sound= 6
There's nothing special to point out about the sound. I mean, the voice acting is pretty okay, and the opening and closing songs were alright. So I can only give it a 6.
Character= 7
Tsundere, Perverted lead, Childhood friend. Most of the characters are pretty much cliche. But what I found unique about this anime is how open it is to homosexual characteristics. Especially that Otoya guy, who is a molester. I also like how Amaji is barely noticeable every time. But I am quite sick of perverted leads.
Overall Enjoyment= 6
Akikan! could have been better than how it is now. If only the art can be improved, I think it'll get a better score. But it'll never get a rating of 8 or above. Story is unique but really weird. Some characters are really annoying (Especially the main lead) I did enjoy some parts of it. But will I watch it again? Never.

I just had to write a review for this because I really enjoyed this anime.
And for a change of pace, I'll break down this review to its components: Story, Art and animation, Sound and Overall enjoyment. (I don't do this normally and wanted to try it out)
Story= 8
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko deals on the mysterious and the unexplained. We have Touwa, Erio who has been missing for half a year and claims to have been abducted by aliens. But really, what actually happened while she was missing? What caused her to have amnesia? And then there's Niwa, Makoto, whose line of thinking depends on
...
what can be seen and is proven, has to face these events.
Despite this serious-sounding background, this anime is quite far from being serious at all. Dealing with Erio's condition and helping her return to society as a normal Earthling is what Makoto is aiming for, while having to deal with some other things. I don't really think I've seen any anime with this plot, but I think it's actually pretty good.
Art/Animation= 10
I really liked the art for this anime. Its art is actually quite similar to the more recent Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Which is another good anime I recommend) It's bright and very well-done. The animation (especially of that on the opening song) flows rather smoothly and deserves a perfect score on my review.
Sound= 10
The sound effects were unexpectedly good. The opening song didn't quite get to me at first, high and weird squeaky voice and all. But eventually, I came to like it and it's actually pretty catchy. The ending song, however, I didn't like as much. Voice acting is also good. No complaints there. The background music is what I'd like to point out, especially.
The music that plays sometimes in the background is outstanding and very well-done. It doesn't distract you from whatever is happening, and actually helps improve the setting of the scenes. Another perfect score there.
Overall= 9
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko would've been nice if it had more romance in it. Relationships between cousins are legal in Japan, right? Either way. despite not having an romantic elements in it, it's still a very enjoyable anime and I recommend watching it. No regrets guaranteed.

This has got to be another one of my favorite anime of all time.
(Minor Spoilers)
Kokoro Connect is about five students who are part of the Student Cultural Research Club and how they get themselves into supernatural phenomenons by a sentient being called "Heart Seed." These phenomenons are body switching, inner desire unleashing, age reverting and inner emotion transmission.
What was very important about this anime is Character Development. Whenever they get themselves in the middle of a phenomenon, something about them that the others didn't know is revealed. Something traumatic. Something deep and dark that the others never knew about. Despite these phenomena forcing
...
the five to drift apart, they don't give up on their friendship and struggle to keep them together.
At first, this anime didn't appeal to me quite that much. But later on, I slowly start enjoying it. The story itself is quite unrealistic, despite the fact that the setting is school/slice-of-life. But that doesn't mean the story isn't good. It's quite original, as far as I'm concerned.
There is a good mix of comedy, drama and romance. You'll start getting pissed off at some of the characters as the story progresses. The comedy is subtle. And the drama brings some heavy feels, which makes the happy endings after each phenomenon and the romance all the more satisfying.
The art is very nice and well-done and animation flows rather smoothly. The character designs are quite similar to the anime K-On! despite having different producers. You could put the characters of Kokoro Connect and K-On! together and you'd probably think they were made by the same producers.
The sound is alright. Nothing specific to point out. Opening and the Ending themes are a little catchy, but that's it.
Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable anime and I highly recommend watching it. I'm sure you won't regret it.

A guy that can beat Gods with his bare hands. A girl who can talk to animals and gain whatever ability they have. Another girl that can make people, animals and objects do whatever she commands. And a bunny-girl whose hair can turn from blue to pink, is really fast and wields a lightning spear.
Now that's a pretty odd cast there, now isn't it? But all these characters are unique and each of them have their own reason of liking them.
Mondaiji-Tachi ga Isekai kara kuru sou desu yo? Is probably one of my favorite anime and one of the best one I've watched so
...
far. I was disappointed to know that it only had 10 episodes. But I'm confident it'll have a second season.
Three kids who have supernatural powers, who are bored of the regular world are sent to another world to rebuild a broken community. The plot itself is pretty simple and straightforward. But the events that do occur while the story progresses more than make up for it.
The characters are very diverse. Ranging from loli vampires to God-destroying teenagers. That's what also makes the anime enjoyable. Each has their own unique trait, despite the others being background or supporting characters. Izayaoi, though, reminds me a lot of Kazuto Kirigaya/Kirito from Sword Art Online.
Why?
Cool and often times fight without difficulty. Overpowered compared to others. Such a badass. But Izayaoi also reminds me of Izaya from Durarara! "Entertain me!" They both said.
I was impressed on how the developers incorporated Japanese, Greek/Roman, Hindu and many other mythology into the story. Another result in the diversity of the anime, which is always a good thing.
The battle scenes are epic. That's all I can say about that, other than Izayaoi being a total overpowered badass on the field.
The art and animation are very well done. Bright and smooth, respectively. And there were no signs of animation/art value dropping at any part of the anime. And the voice acting was also quite good.
The OP didn't get through me. But the ending was so cute and aforable that I couldn't possibly miss out on it (You'll find out why once you see)
Comedy and Action. Plus, a little bit of fanservice by Black Rabbit. One of the best anime released in winter 2012-2013. Excellent art and animation. And the battle scenes are done wonderfully. I highly recommend this anime.

I'll be writing a review for this because I absolutely fell in love with this series.
Also, this review will be for both seasons.
There will probably be spoilers.
Amagami SS and SS+ Plus is a story about Tachibana, Junichi. A young man who got stood up on a Christmas date, leaving him traumatized and afraid to fall in love. Two years later, he'll encounter a certain woman. A woman who'll bring him back up to his feet and learn to love once again.
Amagami SS is based on a PS2 Dating sim and is viewed in an omnibus format. Basically, there are 4 episodes (For
...
the first season) for each of the 6 heroines and those 4 episodes tell what happens if Junichi goes after a specific girl.
Amagami SS+ is the second season and it shows the events that took place after each of the first season's arcs. So I suppose you can say it's basically an epilogue to the first series.
The story itself is pretty much cliche. But I can't really blame anyone. The series is based off a dating sim. A traumatizing event in the past like that has probably been used before in other dating sim/anime. But I do find each of the story arcs to be romantic, cute and sweet (Except for Rihoko's first season arc. I was quite disappointed they didn't end up with each other. The second season Rihoko arc makes up for it though) The show is pretty light on the heart and it doesn't cause much heart-wrenching feels (Which is good in my case 'cause I have a weak heart)
The characters are enjoyable in their own way. They're pretty unique from each other and each of them has their own charm. Though I have to say Junichi is a tad bit generic. He's the average high-school student. But as each story develops, he does get a bit unique (Depending on which story arc he's in) But I like him. He's childish, supportive, loving, caring, a bit clueless, reckless and he'd go out of his way to make the girl he loves happy. He reminds me of me, sometimes.
The art is pretty good. Though the quality of the art did drop at certain points like at the start of Nakata, Sae's arc. The animation is pretty smooth. No complaints there. The sound and the voice acting was also very good. I especially loved Morishima, Haruka and Tachibana, Miya's voice acting for some reason.
My favorite heroine will have to be either Sakurai, Rihoko or Tanamachi, Kaoru. Rihoko is bubbly cute and adorable. She's innocent and honest and has a big appetite. Kaoru is mischievous but also very hardworking.
Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable anime. Cute romance here and there. Some slight feels, but that makes the romance all the more satisfying. And you'll enjoy each of the heroines arcs because their own stories are pretty unique from one another.

The first thing that caught my attention about this anime is-- how ridiculously short it is. 3 minutes? That's pretty short.
But that aside, it's a pretty decent slice-of-life/comedy anime.
The set of characters are somewhat cliche, and the plot is pretty straightforward. There is no back-story of some sort. I mean, how did Hana and Aki become friends? What inspired them to create manga?
And some tsundere-type girl just appears out of nowhere in one episode.
The art is pretty good, and the animation is fairly smooth.
I admit, I did enjoy it. But it'd be a much better series if the plot was given
...
more depth and the air time was extended to the usual 22 minutes per episode.
If you're looking for something to watch after a hard day's work, you can give Mangirl! a try.

Personally, I find this anime, basically, a cute, simple, slice-of-life anime. It reminds me a lot of several other slice-of-life anime like Lucky Star, Working!! or Acchi Kocchi. Why? Well it's mostly because GJ-Bu doesn't seem to have a real plot of its own.
But despite that, I find it entertaining. Sure, there's no story behind it. But seeing Kyoya and the stuff that happens with the girls in the club room? I can't help but smile while watching it.
The art is bright and colorful. The anime screams a rainbow of colors, which is a good thing. It's also clear and the animation flows rather
...
smoothly.
I personally like the characters. Though, Mao reminds me (in a way) of Aisaka Taiga from Toradora. But all the characters can easily be described as "Kawaii." Maybe that's a personal opinion, but I'm sure a lot think that way.
I don't really see anything to dislike this anime for. Maybe I missed a few things, but small things won't stop me from watching good anime.
This series is still airing, so there's more to be expected. I don't know where this anime will lead to-- but for now I'll give it an 8/10
