What can I say about this anime that everybody else hasn't. Nothing, but let me just organize some of these thoughts.
First, the premise of the series is good, and the first episode had me salivating for a little man vs. man action, especially with how vile and corrupt the empire seemed to be. And for the first couple episodes we get that. However, it quickly devolves into an incoherent mess that seems like your having a schizophrenic seizure rather than watching an anime.
Characters are flat, bland and remind me of those rice cakes health nuts used to foist onto me whenever they
...
had a get together, bland with no flavor. There's no depth to them, no growth and no reason to connect or even like them. Okay, there was some growth but it was so little and came into the series so late that it didn't make much of a difference.
Story is chaotic and pretty much a speed run of the most heinous and vile things you could string together in a way that resembled a story, but a very weak one. The plot was...well really don't know. Bad guy tries to take out the badder guy? Maybe, maybe it wasn't, I mean it didn't really have enough structure to convey it to the me as the viewer.
Overall this title was a one upsmanship of who can commit the most atrocious act a human is capable of while the protagonist constantly gets his butt kicked because he's never learns or grows. Oh, and you'll really need to suspend your disbelief on this as well, wait, scratch that, you'll need to pack it up and put it in storage and don't take it out again until you've watch the whole thing. I won't explain why here as I really don't want to spoil it, but you should know it when you see it if you watch it.
Would I recommend it: No
This one should be a hard pass, but if they ever retcon it and try to fix the problems while keeping the premise, then maybe I'll take my time and watch it again then. But as its stands now...It's a turd that needs flushed.
Thanks for reading and happy watching!

When this series first started airing I was intrigued. Here was a story that wasn't nothing new in the way of anime stories go, but it was seeming self aware and ready to take strides towards creating a story that had depth, development and importantly plot. It introduced a MC that was cognizant of his inadequacies and created a goal to strive towards.
However now here we are in S4 and everything that S1 started, this season killed.
The MC is still weak minded (But hey don't worry about power up because he's got "God Mode" to help him level up), whiny and incompetent and sorely
...
needs saved by humongous amounts of plot armor. They have thrown out the actual plot in lieu of fan service and tom foolery which of course, keeps up with the status quo of the garbage already out there. There is no story line other than the wash, rinse, repeat story line of the weekly big bad.
As far as those mysteries they put out there: Yeah forget that we've got HAREM and BOOBIES.
Seriously, for a series that had such a good solid start, it sure became a dumpster fire in a quick minute. Not surprised, but highly disappointing. Bring out the rest of your dead, then drop them and this one in the funeral pyre because they are all victims of the dying anime industry.

The most important thing about a story is it's beginning. If the story cannot pull the reader/viewer into the world and let them feel as though they are part of that world then the story will fail because the reader/viewer will not enjoy themselves.
This story cannot pull the viewer in and tries too hard to be the "other white meat" in the plethora of isekai anime titles that Japan has recently been flooding the market with. The concept isn't necessarily a bad one, but with poor execution it cannot reach it's full potential.
Getting to the fourth episode I found myself dispassionately watching with
...
a weary eye. The art and animation were done well with the small shortcuts studios used not overly blatant, the caveat is that the characters are very uninspired and the entire execution was lacking bringing nothing new to the table to earn the tile of the "other white meat".
If I was asked to retcon this to make it better I would throw this entire production into the trash and walk away to start the entire project over again.
Recommend this I cannot due to its uninspired nature, poor execution and characters and it trying too hard to separate itself into its own niche, which I applaud if it was done better and not have the entire story exposition crammed down your throat in the way this one does.

This season is not a continuation of the initial revenge arc that started the series out, and that's fine because it sets in motion the bigger picture and develops the world more than the first season did as well as fleshing out and giving the characters growth and development that lacked greatly in the initial season 1 premier. The flow of the overall story line is well done and thought out, even if at times can be a bit obvious. There are a lot of played out tropes as well that honestly could have been left out and not done any injustice to the overall
...
presentation. However this season develops the world more and delves deeper into the lore and presents the larger mystery that is the engine that drives the story as a whole.
While most people feel that it lacked in presentation I would kindly disagree and say that it adds more and builds more presenting a more rounded look at what the author is build. A must remember is that this story isn't an all-in type and has to be taken as a whole not a sum of it's parts. It does help to watch the complete entirety of S1 and S2 together in my opinion. Overall I would definitely recommend and caution to see the story as a whole and not as single continuous arc, because it isn't.

Having read all the 8's, 9's and such I was spurred into action by my sense of justice...and to let readers see a different opinion other than the fanatics of the series.
Firstly if you looking for a good action filled anime, this ain't it. Sorry sunshine but this one is tons of dialogue and politics. But hey, believe it or not, that's not the worst part of this horrible adaptation.
See, they need to leave these no name game adaptations where they belong, nowhere. But I digress, that's just a little rant of mine.
Putting it bluntly so's that I don't bore you to death,
...
the worst part of this anime is the characters, and not all the characters, just a the lead. And not BOTH leads, just the little pansy who suddenly becomes a hero. Because yeah, we haven't seen that character type before.
Other than that, I can overlook the character designs, the generic facial animations and the text book personality traits as seen in this title.
Overall, it's a huge skip unless you like cookie, then enjoy this baked treat courtesy of the a-typical cookie cutter that seems to be Japanese game animation adaptations.

So lets tear an arm or leg off and get into the meat of it. Firstly, no manga read. I went into this media as is with no prior prejudice and even if I did, let's face it they very rarely adapt the manga correctly or in it's whole.
First season was great, second season was very good. I don't believe it owns a 9 or 10 but for what it was it deserves that 8 at least.
Digging the artwork in both seasons, and while character designs were a little "weird" I didn't find them too awful to the eye. While they were slightly
...
lacking in growth they owned depth, even Emma who I did find a trifle tiring at times.
Sound was good, plenty of SFX that matched up with the scene making it perfect for getting immersed in. Songs, meh, I really don't listen to them as I skipped both the opening and ending.
Story was nice, and liked how this season continued from the first without too much of the whole "What happened again?" So even with the wait it was pretty fluid in its' presentation. The only gripe I had was the pacing was very off, and the whole "ending montage" was a let down. I would have liked to see another set of episodes to finish it off without that.
Overall, I would recommend it if you haven't read the manga or if you can go into it without being biased and just enjoy the ride. It's different from the garbage usually shuffled to us on a plate pretending to be human meat but are pale substitutes. While not fully rounded its solid enough to enjoy.

Came to watch a anime about a young man who's attempting to overcome trials and tribulations about height challenged people who love to play basketball but face ridicule and prejudice.
But a boring slice of life was there instead.
I'll keep it short and sweet my dedicated fans as I have no good things to say about this anime.
First up, story. Great premise, poor writing. Dialogue is repetitive and offensive to the ears. Cliche and repeat phrases litter each and every episode so much so, you could use this anime as the basis for a drinking game. However beware you might come away with some alcohol
...
poisoning.
Next art and animation...no budget here or what? Oh sorry, they blew it all on stupidly paced and over exaggerated fifty episodes. Twice the time, half the story. Stills overused, sloppy animation and terrible character designs reign supreme. Who in their right minds draws characters that look like they just had their jaw jacked and their lips fattening up due to the impact?
Characters, yep dull lifeless and boring. Most you could give two Shit$ less about because well you know, more cliches. Half of them were irrelevent to the story except being used for garbage plot devices. Sora's mother was the best and deepest character their was and she f-ing (spoiler) died.
Sorry, that warning was a tad late...but that's how I feel after watching 41 episodes.
Ahem, anyway, overall pacing was a serious issue where crappy dialogue and no action took place along with stupid good for nothing slice of life garbage. Either be a sports anime or a slice of life...wait sorry, it is a slice of life. Exaggerated point for those interested in watching this: IT'S A SLICE OF LIFE TITLE ya'll.
Did I enjoy it? Nope, kind of felt like I paid $200 for a hamburger and only got a pickle slice. Will you enjoy it? Probably not if your wanting to see a sports anime where the little guy overcomes all obstacles to fulfill his desires. But if your into crappy interpersonal type slice of life because your life sucks and you want to watch other peoples life's suck, yep, 100%.
In closing....those lips?!? Sorry, this one tanked in my opinion and that's valuable time I can't ever get back as I was subjugated to high school whiny drama instead of a solid sports packed overcoming difficulties title.

Drifting Dragons can be summed up in two words: Dreadfully Dull. I think watching paint dry would have been a better expenditure of my time. Story really is more of a slice of life about whalers on a ship if those whalers caught funky looking sky whales..er which I guess really is what this story is about.
Art is fair to mediocre at best as it's that typical CGI crap that Netflix is so famous for producing. Color Palettes looked washed out with characters really not that pleasing to look at, symmetry or overall design wise.
Sound exists but nothing to write home about unless
...
you like musical scores that can be heard in pretty much any factory turned out anime. Oh and the dragons, can anyone say "Godzilla"? I mean come on, let's make an attempt NOT to rip off one of the most arguably, albeit sometimes campiest franchises out there.
Characters are plain, boring or over exaggerated in their personalities. Quite frankly, couldn't connect or care about a single one. Personally hoped they'd get eaten by the "Dragons", ahem, I digress...
...Overall I'd have to not recommend this title for the fear of getting my eye dotted by the people that had to sit through this dreadfully dull mess due to my recommendation. This show scores a big WHALE (Get it..huh? Huh?) of a thumbs down.

I really didn't want to do anything around this anime much less a review but here I am, doing one mostly because P2 dropped on Netflix and my OCD's demanded that I watch it even though I disliked this part.
First of all I rated this title a 3 overall, which I felt honestly was a better score than it deserved. I'm going to refrain from remitting the summary of the title as everyone can read that in the synopsis section here.
If your thinking about watching this and seeing the heinous score its receiving from most of the other viewers its because its somewhat warranted. To
...
expand on that I thought I'd pitch a couple pennies into the jar as well.
Firstly the story is not very cohesive, the concept is good and the ideas behind it are solid but the execution of it is terrible. The title doesn't seem to know what category it wants to reside in so its all over the board trying to hit all the check boxes for all categories.
This leads to a very jarring viewing experience and you'll either love it or hate it.
I personally couldn't tell if it was a romance, drama, survival, horror, or what it was. It started out as a survival type apocalypse story, then shifted to a romance, back to drama, then into a horror, threw in some psychological, mixed it all up, added a olive a viola, a martini shaken, not stirred.
Next there are way too many characters and the story is trying to tell the entirety of it through all the character's experiences as they deal with the situation(s) they find themselves in. If done correctly it can lead to a cinematic experience that will leave you feeling very satisfied, here however it just adds to the chaos the story has already produced with its erratic story line.
The characters themselves are very shallow and plain, really nothing to them that makes them stand out as any type of person we as the viewer can relate too regardless of the circumstances. I felt that they were flat and had just the basic personality painted onto them to make them somewhat "life-like". Plus the dialogue is dry and lacking any depth itself. Pretty much as run of the mill you can get without making it like your choking down straw.
The rest of it was about mediocre at best and really didn't cause me to like or dislike it based on the art or sound.
Overall, this is a great time killer or something to keep on while your grinding through whatever game your playing, but to pay attention to it or become invested into the story, characters, world and narrative, yeah sorry it'll probably let you down.

Honestly folks, after watching this dumpster fire burn I wanted to get on here and just tear it down piece by piece by piece until there was nothing left of it and the emotional scars that it left upon my brain were washed away, excised until nothing of them remained. I wanted to do this without reason, just pure unadulterated instinct, a primal urge to rectify the wrong that this title is.
Gradually reason ruled the day and I realized that my pristine mental sanctity, much like Marinne's virginity, would not, nay could not be returned. So let's break the legs of this capo and
...
find out why it should be sunk to the bottom of the river using lead shoes.
Oh and just so you know, SPOILERS...because I roll that way....✌(-‿-)✌
So the primary problem with this title is the shows lack of focus. It sincerely feels like a bad acid trip I once took, and paced about the same way. The lack of consistency is another major issue with the title leaving me feel like it was written by someone who honestly should have been addicted to adderall.
No world building was done and very little background information was given. The show completely seemed to disregard the fact that we don't know anything about the crests, why they work or anything about the world, other than the slow dragging scenes we get about the politics. I mean, this is exactly why I don't watch C-SPAN! I mean...really, does anybody. So I have to wonder why they felt we'd want to watch politics drag out in a fantasy anime? (≧.≦*)
Characters were poorly written and designed and contained only the most shallowest amount of depth. The two star crossed lovers, the main heroine and hero are all cardboard cookie cutter characters that feel like a dry rub in a men's prison shower. And as about as entertaining to watch as such. (¬_¬)
The artwork was subpar and the animation was heinous with the cut corners being so sharp it could literally put an eye out. I mean the choreographing of the fight scenes was decent, but with the way it was animated, was like watching two monkey's hump a football rather than decent looking characters hack and slash each other in a intricate fight scene.
Far as the sound and music goes...I've heard better but I heard worse. The voice acting was about average and sometimes made me feel like the actor was more interested in the sleep they were losing by having to voice this show rather than put any effort into it. Don't get me wrong, wasn't annoying to listen too, but really didn't bring anything to the show either.
Overall this show made little to no sense, with inconsistent issues cropping up all over the place. I mean come on, the best way to win over the army and get them to fight for you is get naked...really? Uh...yeah...I'll by that...not. ⁀⊙﹏☉⁀ And don't even get me started on the physics of anything that happened in this title, I mean horses jumping over ten foot walls...(︶︹︺)
So to wrap it up, the show has a great premise but failed to deliver on the story, kept the pacing either full throttle or dead in the water. A1 decided to bring in the 8th graders to animate and draw it leaving me to wonder if I could have done a better job. The sound and voicing left me quite uninspired, and of course the fan service and nudity along with that crap character who gave away her virginity for what now? A guy who basically killed your family and then couldn't hold onto the territory that he killed your family for....eh?!?
All in all I would only recommend that you keep looking for another title to watch unless your a masochist who enjoys torture and politics...wait maybe they're one in the same there. Anyway, this title gets a big fat ( ︶︿︶)_╭∩╮ from me.
Thanks for reading, and remember: Tipping isn't just a small town in China! (⌐■_■)
