Actually incredible. Must watch. It's perfect. Season 2 just gets better.
People that are not into slice of life, usually say that it's because nothing happens, and well that may be true if you're looking at a show like this from an action show POV. But it is a story. It is a story about coming of age for most of the characters, forming friendships and enjoying life. The show feels like a masterpiece for the first 12 episodes. Then it quickly begins to feel like it's falling apart, till the horrible last arc of the show.
Still a must watch for it's significance, and good writing while it lasts. It influenced everything that came after it, and the characters are iconic. If you're young enough to have not watched this yet go watch it. It works probably better if it's one of the first anime you're exposed to, as it tells a coherent story in what might feel like a surprising way, if you've not consumed much media. Jan 28, 2023

Personal favorite, but definitely not perfect.
Some of the early arcs feel that go on for too long, and after playing through the VN i can see why. They tried to include elements of each of the endings as part of the show, which makes sense because you kinda need to context to get the full story behind each of the characters. Unfortunately, after the first season it felt like it was being dragged on for too long, as not all of the characters are equally interesting. What is not understandable is the ending. In the last episode you will be bawling. And not the first time ... Jan 28, 2023

Often recommended as one of the best romance, or tear inducing shows. The ending did make me cry, but 5 seconds after finishing the last episode, I felt manipulated. Given the amount of characters in the show, and that the big plot point is that everyone will slowly disappear, we don't get enough time with the cast to really care. The show would've really benefited from more episodes, a small arc for each of the characters to make you really feel as each one of them goes missing.
The ending is just bait for tears which honestly will probably work, but are not well deserved. It's ... |
