Both of these animes are purely psychological. They revolve around the main character coming into contact with someone who opposes him, and the two having a seriously intense battles that consist of one person thinking "I'm thinking this and there's no way my enemy will know" and then the other person thinking "Ah, I know he's thinking this, but there's no way he'll know I'm thinking this so I'll ruin his plans and do this" AND THEN THE OTHER PERSON THINKING "HA! Of course I knew you knew what I was thinking! Which is why I purposely did this in order to make you do this so I can win!!" and it just goes on for a very long time, to be honest. But both are great!!

Both shows have that light-hearted, episodic structure that involves two separate situations, both filled with delightful hijinks. The two series both have a number of characters introduced, and after establishing the primary relationships, shows all of them interacting in different dilemmas.

Both series have that sort of "Guy transfers to a small, new village and goes to school and everything is quite dandy until OH WOW okay people are dying frequently and brutally... well then" feel to them. While both plots have been done before, they're done in a verry riviting way that kept me watching intently form start to end. Highly recommended!

These two shows are similar in their adorable-ness, to be frank. Both are colourful and fun to watch, and hold a sort of brainless entertainment that is quite often very valuable. Both shows are completely episodic as well, so you can pretty much jump into them from anywhere (with the possible exception of some handy exposition in the first episodes). The main difference is that Barakamon focuses prominently on Handa, whereas Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka focuses on a variety of characters for each episode.

These two shows are similar in that they are quite dark shows, focusing on teenage characters as they are overcome with a similar issue (that means life or death for them) and follows them as they deal with the issues, with many sympathetic side-characters dying along the way.

Both shows are very similar in that they both focus on young characters, one male and one female, and follow them both as they journey through life as young students, while facing their own personal issues. The issues, which mainly count as personality disorders, account for some heart-wrenching moments in both shows. As well as having similar themes, the art style in both of these shows is beautiful, using watercolours and pastels that add to a serene feel while viewing.
