Is the world we know as peaceful and bliss as we make it out to be? From the past, present, and undoubtedly the future the world we have known up until now is a much more complex soil then we had made it out to be while we were still in our naive youth. Our minds back then couldn't possibly or more so perhaps we try to cancel out the truth were told because we couldn't comprehend the darkness of what the world truly holds. However, once we've witnessed what the world around you truly holds, we are forced to comprehend it and begins the ... process of the change in ideals start to change in a more realist way rather then morally. As it accumulates as time passes time we have lost most of our morale and we ourselves become demons like the ones we've witness from our experiences. In the case of Shinsekai Yori, why not add psychokinetic kids in the meanwhile. Since I've wrecked the mood, let's start this review.

Shinsekai Yori follows six kids that possess extraordinary psychokinetic powers as the premise likes to call Cantis in a utopia set 1000 years from today. They go by the names of Saki Watanabe, Maria Akizuki, Sotaru Asahina, Mamoru Itou, Shun Aonuma, and Reiko amano. These kids are isolated from the rest of the world this utopia ruled by people who possess Cantis as well and they attend to their academy to train and practice their Cantis. However, these kids one day across something called a false Minoshiro. That day, they have discovered the dark history of the world they live in and experience it in the distant future.

Story: The story itself had great potential to be one of the best anime there is with that wicked premise. It is portrayed to be seemingly original and is executed very well to bury myself deep within the soil of immersion it's world. Shinsekai yori has a heavy focus on convincing psychological point-of-views which is what us human fail to understand the circumstances of unequals like how we treat a different species and ironically, that species thinks well alike as humans as well as they do intellectually. The problems I have with the is that it has a few plot holes that need fixing like how Cantis was even possible and we received not enough info about it origin either and Death Feedback was just a warping vortex for holes.

Characters: The characters are about the weakest part of the show next to animation which I'll get to in a sec. In all honestly, most of the characters are just plain bland and boring, but the least I can give is that the the characters close to Saki had some good subtlety to back them up I'll give them that much. Otherwise, they are just as interesting as dry wood in a deep forest. Saki was consistent as a character. Well for the plot anyways. Aside for that, she gets kind of dull after a while later. Overall, the cast are just plain mediocre.

Sound: Since no one gives a damn about SFX, I'll just skip straight into the OST. It fit in great within it's premise, but I did find the tracks to be repetitive at times. However, it's only a little pet peeve so myself considers just a scratch from a plastic knife. Besides, it definitely wasn't even in the measurements compared to Tetsuro Araki's works who repeats the same single OST for every episode.

Art/Animation: The art and designs are indeed creative and the background paintings look lively and fitting for the premise. However, i simply can't overlook the character design and the animation quality. every time when Saki looks at me with her eyes I get this feeling I'm being sucked in a bland orange space with a black hole in the middle. Also, there isn't any shading on the characters. What, is light flashing at them in every direction. The animation can be good at times but holy s*** I flipped many tables every time I see a catapulted CGI boulder. Nothing special about the animation, but the was decent at the least.

Again, Shinsekai Yori had a lot of potential, but the plot holes, characters, and the animation quality seem to get in the way of that significantly by a margin, but I won't go as far to say it was mediocre and not worth the watch. In all honesty, it a pretty good watch overall. Just isn't the best thing to come out of ever. If into the whole psychokinesis premise this is probably going to some fine oolong for you if you dig into this sort of stuff.

School Days known to be one of the worst anime ever due to popular belief in the anime community. I only went into this out of pure curiosity about how terrible School Days actually is and to give out a personal opinion for the sake of reviewing it. Is it as bad as the anime community says it is?

Story (5/10)

School Days had a mediocre through the first episodes. Nothing really meaningful at the least and some morally idiotic decisions by none other by Makoto himself. It was boring to watch, but first half was overall 50/50. The second half? I'll get to that later into ... the review. Now we get to the last two episodes. At the end of episode 11, I was actually surprised that such a scene existed in this dreadful anime. I 'd say it was the best part of School Days. The only good part of it anyways. However, I didn't feel anything that made me feel the scene. In fact, I was still frustrated at certain characters during the scene that it interferes with with the emotion. And we get to the last episode. It's just the three main characters making some of the idiotic decisions ever. The stuff that made the twists are very illogical. This was without a doubt the worst part of School Days

Art & Sound (5/10)

School Days doesn't seem too appealing with the art & sound. The Art just seems bland all the way through and there were no soundtracks that stood out to me. The arts overall are just flat out mediocre. However, the arts are the least of problems.

Character (1/10)

This is by far the worst cast of anime characters I've ever seen. I found none of them to be likeable at all. the cast is so terrible that it drags the story into piss poor condition. I'm only going to mention the three main characters. First we got Makoto Itou. This guy is just the worst and he knows it, but doesn't seem to have a care in the world. Makoto just makes all his decisions without thinking about certain people without a damn given. His decisions at the first half were not done near as frequently as the second half. He make me yell at the screen every time he showed up in the second half. Sekai Saionji. This character didn't make sense from the beginning. she caused Makoto to go follow his instints, but Makoto had a choice. Sekai just sometimes makes some horribly illogical decisions like in the last episode. Now Kotonoha Katsura. From the beginning, she was the only character that I could tolerate, but her direction of being overly attached to someone like Makoto just makes an unlikable path for Kotonoha. The others? No! everyone just go to hell. I'm done!

School Days does deserve the reputation it gets. If your going to watch it to review it? Your funeral. If you are just looking for enjoyment? This will piss you the hell off. One of the worst anime I've seen thus far.
