Story 07/10
it might look like it has a dumb storyline at first glance but it's one of the nicest renditions of this afterlife kind of stuff. The story is decent but the way of interpreting it, mixed with the awesome music put it to a whole new level.

our main character Makoto so something wrong(trying to be spoiler free :D) or misbehave, it really gets you and makes you beat your computer screen displaying Makato and at the very next moment you think that he is just a kid he doesn't understand the complexity of life. But at some part, the story was not satisfactory enough. maybe that is due to the influence on me of watching anime that are far from reality and not dealing with the reality of life. (that's my problem lol). And sometimes the metaphors were hard to get or maybe they were not metaphors and I was just scratching my head lol.
Art 09/10
its art is so awesome and blends completely with the story. It is definitely worth checking out it for just art, you'll definitely not regret it. It's kinda Makoto Shinkai type but a bit less work on characters which was required for easy interpretation of the movie.
Sound 9/10
This film's music is certainly one of the most beautiful ever. It makes you listen to it more and more at every listen. And not only music in the particular but according to the scenes, it's just perfect.
Character 7/10
This is the section which I am a little bit disappointed. There were many adorable characters that needed a little bit more description within the movie duration. And sometimes the deeds of character really didn't reflect the past personality of that character. I know it is difficult to pull out the perfect character development for all the characters but it is one thing that I have always concerns with these types of films. But it is good enough to stick until the end

its certainly a must watch. This was an experience rather than a film.An experience which I think everyone should take. I always afraid of dying that's why I always distanced me from media about this topic.It really sounds dark when you read Colorful's synopsis but it is not, it is definitely not. It's a movie full of inspiration, I am a music person so one thing I noticed is that even in the saddest situation in this movie, major chords(usually referred to warm and happy sounding) are used in background music. This is the type of film which conveys many meanings depending on the viewer. Heads off to the director, writer and the whole stuff and especially the voice actor for purpura or Parapara or whatever it was so kawaii-iii iii voice, bye.
